Whats the best Linux theme and why is it Arc?

Does anyone produce some smart phones in way thinkpads were produced? I mean resistant, efficient with price that is not from out of space? I was wondering if there is company in which i do not pay just for the mark?
How many times do we need to have this thread. see pic
Thinkpads are expensive, close to Apples prices. Just because you can buy used Thinkpads from bank leases doesn't mean they were cheap at release.
That said, older BlackBerry phone are probably the Thinkpads of the mobile world
So, i was thinking of getting one of these? thoughts?
A question for all these Linux distro lovers:
Is it that hard to develop a user-friendly interface using Linux as base? Just keep it simple for everybody (90% of users only want this), but give them the chance of using the "complex mode" (terminal, coding, advanced features...). If you want a wider user rate, allow them to do what they really need (office, media, internet, games...), without having to write lines of code. And keep it visually attractive (see OSX).
Is there a way to isolate hiss from a recording, and then use that isolation to subtract from the original audio?
I have a chain set up, basically I apply maximum treble (inverse RIAA curve) to an audio file, which results in intense hissing and popping from the recording, i then run passive NR over that, and a standard RIAA curve to re-EQ the file, then invert the resulting waveforms. The results are disappointing.
Alternative: If you apply the out of phase (karoke) to a mono recording recorded in stereo, you're left with only pops and hissing. Can I use...

I know it has a NR where you select a section of buzzing and it removes it from the rest of the audio. Unless you mean something else
I just have some LPs that I recorded to the computer that are good except for the noise. The reason why I'm doing this is because these particular recordings never made it to CD or digital at all, so this is my only chance of preserving them.
Is Gentoo really as good as everyone says it is?
Is this the best monitor on the market?
Hey /g/ last time i saw a thread about ubuntu phones, and i was wondering if you guys could tell if it is somewhat viable to get one, and if it is not, why?
I want the wallpaper he uses.
is it worth learning C# for professional employment reasons in the current year? Or should I just learn C++
Do you already know java? Then employers often deduce you also can learn/have already learned C# fast.
If not learn it. C#/Java are the languages with the highest amount of open positions.
>Then employers often deduce you also can learn/have already learned C#
Then you applied to the wrong job. If they want you kode with karlie the JavaEE stack, then they will use java only and won't switch to C# or whatever. You can say then they will expect you to be an X86 assembly coder because they need a versatile dude who will do the work of 3 people for the wage of 1. :(
>get a job because you learned the appropriate language
How often does this actually happen?
Every dev I know was hired because he already had years of experience with the relevant environment.
How can I compile an usable Android Rom from AOSP source?
How do we stop the IoT botnet?
Because they can spend $100k on programmers upfront, add $20 of parts to each unit, and sell hundreds of thousands of those units for $500 more each. Why wouldn't they? Their job is to make money. Your job is to not be stupid surrendering it.
Why is everyone shitting on this phone? It's working fine for me.
Have any of you even tried it ye
Ubuntu GNOME, Fedora or openSUSE?
Archentoo fags need not apply because I want something that actually works.
So we had 32bit, how it performed in processing everything from basic to advanced tasks seemed to double when 64bit emerged.
What I want to know though is what comes next? 128bit? The next leap in software performance that will improve how programs/games function - and also how far off are we from that at this point?
>people actually fell for the GUI meme
But, you're not that dumb, are you /g/?
If you copied every single file from one hard drive with an operating system installed to another hard drive then used that drive would you be able to boot normally as if nothing changed?
What's the easiest way of creating a replica of an operating system and duplicating it onto multiple hard drives otherwise?
I know there are many utilities for this but how have you done it and which method is the best?
>computer locked down by ransomware
>wipe the disk, reinstall OS
>get your back data from backup
>the ransomware is back again
>it has infested your backups
Is it possible that ransomware can have a delayed execution, by several months or more, so that it also has infected your backups before beeing executet?
Is this possible? Could or will it be possible? Why or why not?
For the university peeps in here.
How does /g/ turn in their homework? I wanna see some sexy setups.
This is a Jupyter notebook running SageMath. The text is Markdown+LaTeX. Just started this today, it seems really nice. Not having to plot to files and link them all from LaTeX with graphicx is kinda nice.
Oh, don't forget to mention what you're studying. I'm a Physics undergrad, this is some basic math stuff one of my classes is going over.

WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE FUCKING DO THIS DO THEY THINK THEY'RE FOOLING ANYONE?
Any UNIX engineers/sysadmins here?
Probably no one will remember but about 3 weeks - month a go i posted a thread asking what should i learn for UNIX interview as i was absolute beginner. Then i went to an interview. And they hired me, just got a call with an offer. I will be a UNIX engineer in large UK bank.
Pretty excited. So, maybe someone could share some tips how to start my career smoothly? Currently i am trying to learn as much as possible and going through LFCSA courses.
Well, hopefully you know UNIX is just a half-ass 90's term for [current year] linux. where I work all linux sys admins do is mainly puppet stuff. for a bank, you should expect to work with sec a lot. Also you're going to start hating email
Anyone here own a 5se
Do people think its an old iphone?
Should I get a 6s since its cheap sometimes
even after the new windows update "change" on 7 and 8.1 you can still check/uncheck what updates you want to install. the new cumulated updates will contain in their name the month and year of their release so they can be easely spotted in a big list of updates on a clean install.
so fuck windows 10 until 2020, windows 7 still remain the most reliable windows OS to use.
>even after the new windows update "change" on 7 and 8.1 you can still check/uncheck what updates you want to install
But all OS updates have been aggregated into the "Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 x64-based Systems" one,
so you can't for example exclude certain OS "updates" like telemetry in the way you could before.
>don't update your system and make it a bit more venerable
>update your system and fill it with spyware
What would next note's name be?
Are there any strong typists on /g/?
Well, i'm gonna do a website about experiences with hookers, is a site where the users could comment about theirs. I have thought on making a forum buy i don't know one where we don't get take down for the sexually solicitud thematic. Do g know any service where we can that is preferible free or súper low cost?
Is there a programming language that could allow me to write an application and compile it directly to an Android or iOS executable easily ?
What about C++ ?
I assume you need to write one codebase and build for both platforms with minimal changes.
You can write fully custom drawing code as part of a portable C or C++ codebase. This is what is normally done for professional games, but it's unacceptable for non-game apps.
You can use Xamarin to write C# code and build for both platforms with a native look and feel. This supposedly works quite well, but it's also very expensive- not meant for individuals at all.
The last option is to just build it as a webapp and use something shitty like Phonegap to package it as an app.
I suggest abandoning this idea. Build an iOS app. If it's a success, and you think an Android port would be worth it despite the horrific piracy rate, hire a freelancer to port it for you. Don't put too much time and effort into Android, at least not up front. Android users don't buy apps.
I'm not paranoid about newer versions beign botnets but because they're shit. Material design is shit, they're full of bugs and useless to use, just look at the nexus 5 and what they've done
