Just got an old pc from a mate.
e7300, 6GB ddr3, gt210.
I've got an old HD5770 laying around, thinking of turning it into a cheap steam box. Is the e7300 enough for dota, csgo, magicka 2, planetary annihilation, l4d2, etc?
Is it worth it to upgrade to a x5450 or should I just scrap it and fork or the dosh for a full new PC?
Ausfag here, so in terms of pricing it'll be something like
>$35 for the cpu upgrade only
>$450 for a fully new low end pc
Also, ubuntu or windows?
>NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics with 4GB GDDDR5 VRAM
How do we stop Wacom jew, bros? They can't keep getting away with this!!
Do you actually have nothing else to do in your life that you feel the need to shitpost on 4chan? You've hit a new low my friend
Why don't we call it LinGNUx?
If my computer is just laying, my CPU temps rise up to 90C, but if i tilt it backwards it goes down to a reasonable 30C, im using water cooling and wonder if it's fucked
pic is what im using
>searching for used PCs on kijiji
>280$ with decent parts
>call up the dude
>tells me he already sold it
WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE DO THIS? IF YOU SOLD IT, WHY THE FUCK DIDNT YOU TAKE DOWN THE AD?
I have just upgraded to 1000mb/s down 500mb/s up fibre broadband. What should I do with it?
Also, post your ePeen stuff thread.
ITT we pretend to be Android users
Just got my new expensive flagship Android phone
Downloading a new:
Then I should be ready to go
Anything else I'm missing?
so is this really it for Samsung?
When are we gonna get a good 4" phone again, /g/?
I just bought a second-hand Xperia M to my sister and I almost regret giving it to her. The phone is just so beautiful and so comfortable and satisfying to use. Of course, the keyboard is a bit smaller than I have on my phone but it's still perfectly usable.
Why can't we have 2016-compliant specs, such as 2 GB of RAM, LTE, non-shit CPU, and 2000 mAh battery all in a 4" phone? Don't tell me it's impossible. At that size, the phone doesn't even have to be super thin. A little more thickness is perfectly fine for a 4" phone.
Why is the market full of 5" - 6" dull looking flat pancakes? I don't believe people wouldn't buy a small phone in 2016. I know I fucking would.
So I have a 'client' that wants to try out GNU/Linux. He is a normalfag for the most part and is only use to Windows, but says he can adapt.
My Question: What is the best GNU/Linux distro out there for normalfags?
Anyone else find these so funny? I kind of want to call them up and fuck with them just for the fun of it.
Google’s newPixelphones are ratedIP53for dust and water resistance, the company confirmed to us today. I know the IP53 rating was rumored pre-launch, but now that the phones are official and that rating doesn’t seem to appear on any of the specs lists provided by Google, we just wanted to make sure you knew exactly where the Pixel and Pixel XL stand.
Hey /g/, I'm an undergraduate at a University, and I'm sick of pen and paper notes. Can anyone recommend a good tablet ~$200-300 that I can use specifically for taking notes in various classes?
What is it like being this guy?
I don't envy him.
He works all day, and got financially dominated by some actress that divorced him 3 times.
He's so famous that it's hard for him to find a girl that is not totally shitty.
That's because good people get fucked in the ass by shitty people in this world... This guy is basically a modern day Jesus Christ, and along comes some strumpet and screws it out of a fortune. And he just turns the other cheek.
I admire him. He's got the potential to be our savior.
>Firefox (and by extension Pale Moon) freezes at only 25% CPU utilization on a quad-core CPU
I work in a startup filled with iOSfags.
These guys are a full stack dev and a front end, they keep telling that Android is trash because of security reasons.
Android can't be worse than iOS right?
Linux is okay if you are mentioning the kernel. But for an Operating System use the format: Distro_Name GNU/Linux, unless the Distro does not use any GNU utils, libs, tools. Then the format Distro_Name Linux is okay.
The reason to say GNU/Linux is to bring in more people to the GNU project, and this is important for releasing and mantaining the quality of GNU software, the software necessary for building a full operating system.
>want to upload 20.2 MB image to 4chin
>4mb image limit
>now 3 MB
>no quality loss
Why aren't you compressing your images again?
Pic related, image i compressed
as I said, no quality loss
Left pic is compressed, right pic is uncompressed
How are you celebrating Thinksgiving /g/?
Is Freelance impossible now because of the flood of Indians and Chinese?
I've tried. Not super successful, mostly because I just didn't have the energy or desire to obtain business skill.
Anyway, when I was a Junior in college I made something close to 500$ over 3 months maybe working 25-40 hours total. But the time to find work was far more.
I'm a Senior now and just don't have time to do it.
I imagine a western programmer could be successful if you have the drive to be a jack of all trades (Marketing, business, actual technical skill).
Figure out how to design missile guidance systems and/or app-controlled dildos for Android.
You'll be just fine.
Pajeets aren't in those fields yet.
Eat more roughage.
Google Pixel or Nexus 6p?
I've been working as a junior front end almost a year now. I've been using Bootstrap/Angular on front and PHP/mySQl rest to create endpoints.
Is there any better way? What would be the best and modern setup for back end? Ruby + Postgres? What's the proper way of creating endpoints for let's just say -> shop ?
Which laptops are recommended for linux distros?
I've read optimus and/or laptops with broadcom stuff usually don't go well.
Pretty much any Intel notebook with Atheros LAN/WLAN would be the best.
I have one and tried pretty much every GNU/Linux distro and it works fine, no need to hunt drivers and use non-free alternatives.
any laptop of your preference? I'm planning on getting a new laptop and put linux on it, maybe arch. I don't wany anything fancy, just something that can deal with hd videos and maaaaaybe some video editing.
I ordered this and plan on installing Antergos on it. Good idea? There aren't any compatibility issues, right?
>The latest updates to Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak add a Unity8 desktop session to the Ubuntu login screen.
>Not that many of you will be surprised to hear that. We mentioned that a Unity 8 session was going to ship as part of the Yakkety release in our list of things to expect in Ubuntu 16.10.
>Added to the Ubuntu meta package, the new Unity 8 desktop session will be available to try on all new installs and...

Which imageboards respect my freedom?
You wake up one morning and this little guy is on your desktop. What do you do?
So /g/, is it /ourphone/ ?
No. It's Google's phone, not ours. It's hugely overpriced, it's lacking several things that we would very much like, such as a microSD slot or a removable battery, and it looks like a Chinese knockoff's nightmare version of an iPhone. Fuck that noise.
Replacement (!) Galaxy Note 7 catches fire in a plane, prompting evacuation.
>He has already replaced it with an iPhone 7.
>Green’s colleague went back onto the plane to retrieve some personal belongings and said that the phone had burned through the carpet and scorched the subfloor of the plane.
>Replacement (!) Galaxy Note 7 catches fire
This is at the same incredibly hilarious and sad. This time, Samsung really fucked up.
