What kind of black magic makes 4chan load faster if you have 4chanX? Does it optimize 4chan or something?
Most flexible/cheapest way to DIY some security cams?
I'd like to be able to watch for delivery guys and see if anyone breaks into my car. Everywhere I see keeps saying to use old android phones, surely there is a better way?
> I'd like to be able to watch for delivery guys and see if anyone breaks into my car.

Yea, but a chinese one for $20-70 (over $70 is probably not worth it for the stated purpose now that you can even get one with two axis remote control)...
If you want it to record in its own internal memory and you want it to stay on no matter what android phones is the way to go.
Otherwise buy some cheap chinese cameras, the resolution they advertise is correct but the FPS will always be lower.
Get some with PoE and buy a second hand PoE Network switch and a HP microserver G7 and with only like 400~500$ you can get a full Server + 3-6 cameras depending if you go 720p or 480p
Seperate things. I'm in a duplex and if I have to sign for something or am getting pizza I can't hear the door. My car is around back but I've had it broken into before so I would want to monitor it.
Could a SBC like the RPi or ODroid handle motion detection and send notifications to my phone?
Is anyone pre-ordering one of these?
Of course the $399 price tag becomes $999 in Australia some how. Was hoping for at least 128gb or something more than an Atom.
you might wait for generation 2
im ordering one in the US for about 599 or something once they open up the sales portal
i draw a lot of graphics for a book im putting together and the X201T screen doesn't give the right feel
if the unit sucks ill give it to my niece to play with
Should I buy a Lenovo Thinkpad T410?
posting from one
I would definitely recommend, runs gentoo with no flaws, and it's still zippy in windows. Plus its just as indestructible as its IBM ancestors.
Only problem I've had with it has been replacing the cooling fan, which is easy to do on a t410
I got a T520, works great with GNU/Linux. Win10 took a massive shit on performance for me, I hope its fixable (Probably not).
If I had to make a complaint, its the monitor display. It has some weird blue shade/tint for it? I don't know, I feel like I have to replace it 768p
>tfw I'm an audiophile with golden ear but the other normies can't understand me
Yes, we know everything already is from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

Have you noticed how 32-bit OS runs faster than 64-bit versions of the same OS in virtual machines?
Why is this the case?
Are they any good to get some work done and do they respect my privacy or are they for retards?
I use a 830 as my daily driver and the cross compatability it has with literally all of my devices is a godsend, and nothing on any other platform comes close to the live tile in terms of utility.
test page = http://www.lipsum.com/
i'm using fedora 24 gnome.
OP I think you need some freetype updates in your life
>buy a used thinkpad
>notice a weird smell
>open it up to find a dead cockroach inside it
Why would /g/ ever hate Vivaldi again?
Oh Windows XP, you never cease to entertain with your shenanigans...
and your new boss wants you to fix this shit
Don't know what I'm supposed to fix but to make him happy and think I did something I'd unplug some cables and then plug them back in and tell the boss the previous incompetent idiot had plugged them in wrong, causing electrical infetterence.
I'm planning on install Manjaro + KDE tonight in my desktop PC tonight and use it as a main distro.
I'm making a mistake? Now i'm running:
Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial (Too Much crashes)
DE: Mate 1.41.1
No you should be okay, Manjaro is just Arch that i think is slightly more stable because the packages don't get updated as fast.
Are you already comfortable with using KDE? Try it out if you haven't done so already.
If you want a good, stable desktop distro, go for PCLinuxOS: it has the same goals as Manjaro but the developers actually care about their users. Also no potterware.
Otherwise, install funtoo.
So /gee/, be sincere.
DId you fall for the beats meme?
I'm using GNU/Linux systems as normal user since several years. Ubuntu, Fedora, Manjaro... I tried every distro that is user friendly, but I want to learn more deeply about GNU/Linux, like doing almost everything from the terminal, building packages and so.
What do you reccommend /g/entlemen?
Who the hell uses Windows Server, and why?!
>liked Windows Mobile for years
>WinMobile gets killed, but still nice memories
>Windows Phone rises
>WP 7 seemed to me something not ready yet
>WP 8 comes out
>I used both Android and iOS, so I know what I compare with
>such text selection, integrated onenote, MS Office (though it appeared to be trash even worse than Pocket Office was)

It can't share Internet, it barely can browse the Internet, its screen is too small (I'd like some 3-4" screen, but that's too small), there are no modern messengers (it's not like there are outside of Android/iOS/WP trinity, though).
What can I do?
My friend got me a raspberry pi 3 that he put retropie on for my birthday. Everything works great, but I was wondering if anybody knows how to get proper resolution for games? All the nes snes neo geo ect. Games are at the proper ratio, but everything is too blocky. Is there a way to shrink the game screen down so it's at its proper resolution on am HDTV?
What is the easiest way to get notes from an android device onto your PC without signing up for an account that syncs your data onto some company's servers?
All I want to do is make a note on my android device and then plug it into my computer via USB and access it in an editable text format. Why is this so hard?
What should I do? Is there a good app that /g/ could recommend or something?
>All I want to do is make a note on my android device and then plug it into my computer via USB and access it in an editable text format.
Then just do that. Save file as .txt, plug phone into PC, drag and fucking drop.
No, I want to take the note on my phone and then access it on the computer in some kind of .txt or .doc or even .html or xml type format. A format I can access and copy paste the info from.
How do I save a file as .txt on an android device?
>closed decades ago
>still having early 90's hardware in the windows
S5 with cm13 worth 150$?
it should be worth more than that
sd card support
cm13 runs pretty fast on it
I would rather get a note4 if I were you, but 150 dollars is a hell of a deal
Give it to me straight, /g/. Is data science a meme?
>Apple sheeps will defend this.
why do you need a better CPU than i3?
what is this shit?
Can we expect the 1TB HDD to go below $50 this holiday season? What do you think /g/?
