What's that facial reenactment software that lets me be an anime girl.
No not the Stanford one, the other one.
So I rent a small VPS on which I host my openVPN server, and I received an email from the VPS provider saying that turner network reported download abuse of one of their programs to them. If i don't respond in 24 hours, they will cut off the service - is that it? should i reply or let the vps die and find another one?
Which one is /our guy/?
I find tablets completely fucking useless but i got a Galaxy Tab 4 for free so what the hell, might as well take it.
The problem is that i can't seem to find a use for it what with having a Galaxy S6 Edge and a proper PC.
Best use I've found so far was using it as a Pip-Boy for Fallout 4 and it was still pretty shit.
I'm formatting my pc, and I would like to install and try Ubuntu along with Windows 8.1, the OS that I had before.
Question: could my files be shared between the two? I have a lot of stuff on my external drives, and I would need to copy most of those on the internal one. I don't need to have two copies, right?
THANK YOU BASED APPLE
QUALSHIT & SAMSHIT IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT
cool numbers, i bet the normies who don't use their phones to the fullest potential will be using this phone to make quantum computations, making 3d models, using autocad on it, complex video editing, etc.
I'm thinking about dropping all of my streaming services and becoming a digital hoarder. Is it worth it?
What's the best way? I'm thinking I'll buy a raspberry pi and set it up as a server, with a drive that I would mount on my phone with all my music or whatever file I wold want to access remotely.
Not really worth it. At least for stuff like movies and games, and I say this as someone with awful internet where it takes an entire day to download a movie.
I hoard stuff that is sort of "rare". Like specific porn and hard to find music and stuff. But for most stuff you can just redownload.
Granted dropping streaming services is a good thing, but you don't need to become a hoarder to do so.
I lost 3TB disk with lot of hoarded stuff over years. damn
I hoard mainly porn. Already recovered and have over 600gb (no HD stuff to just waste space)
streaming porn is shit, you cannot seek fast enough
Are you restricting yourself to FOSS?
also you don't have to be a linux user to restrict yourself to foss
/g/s thoughts on smartwatches? are there any that have no drawbacks? seems to me that if they're good, they look like shit and if they don't look like shit they have some kind of software limitation.
Pic related, looks alright if a bit huge, but uses tizen rather than android apps.
I want to get one but I'm a bit skeptical, I dunno if they're worth the cost at this point. It's nice to have a regular watch that just werks and can take a beating but I want a smartwatch so I can check my fitness apps and notifications and music and things like that on.
I've never built a desktop but how much am I looking to spend for an editing build? I wont be editing any RED video or anything like that, mostly DSLR and GoPro footage for now, maybe I'll upgrade to a raw camera in the future but not at the moment. I will also be using it for CAD/Lightroom/Illustrator etc.
Most import part for video editing is the CPU. The rest isn't all that important.
-Get the best CPU you can afford (latest i7)
-Get a decent mobo (nothing fancy and don't look at gamer mobo's)
-Get 8GB RAM at the highest speed your mobo allows (no need for 16GB)
-Get a decent PSU (500-600W should be enough)
-Get a decent sized SSD, 512GB minimum.
A dedicated GPU is not really necessary, the integrated iGPU should be good enough.
Good morning, Gee. I has this laptop, Sony Vaio with a Second Generation i3. It's still brand new, but starting to get on my nerves sometimes with W10. Can I change its processor or it is soldered to the board? Do you think it would be a good ideai to upgrade it? Change the processor for an i7 if I can and put a SSD? How to know if I can change processor and if I have a SATA I or SATA II port? Would it be a waste of Money to put a SSD on a SATA II port?
Yes I know
>not your tech support
But im at an utter loss here
I bought a gtx1070. It worked for a bit, now when I boot the PC up this happens
If this doesn't happen, the PC boots, it displays my desktop, then before I can do anything it black screens and the fan goes to 100 percent.
Im completely at a loss to what I can do. The power connectors are in, the hdmi cable is in, the card is in properly, I have no idea what is wrong
Boot in safe mode and see if it still does that, also update bios to V2.50
Your PSU should be fine, but occasionally the PCIE rails fail.
I'd say it's a toss between the PSU or the GPU if you can't boot into safe mode.
Is it normal for my cores to hit 40% load when I'm just browsing 4chuns? Is it the botnet?
>> Linux freezes when CPU reaches critical temp
Sadly Linux is still a meme for retard fat guys with beards
Can someone recommend me some good earbuds I can spend money on?
/g/ what's the best video editor available on Linux?
Fixed up an old computer yesterday, formatted put windows on etc and all worked well. Turned it on today and heard a loud poof with a flash coming off it. It mustve short circuited and now the power supply smells fried. Anything I can do? or just disassemble everything and throw power supply out. Risks involved if I decide to keep using it?
4k at 30 Hz/FPS (constant fps, no dips or spikes, EVER) for life or 144 Hz/FPS at 720p.
this is a trip test thread
What do you think of Pascal?
Where should I start to learn android studio?
Hey /g/. I know very little about Programing and everything. I would like to know if there is a program maker that I can use that can display an audiofile as its transients and then enable me to write coding based on the properties of its transients.
Thanks! I really have no clue. The only thing I ever was taught was basic Visual Basic 6 about 7 years ago.
My kid tripped on the ethernet lead running through the house so I'm going to switch to wireless.
Are wireless adapter cards still the way to go? Are USB adapters still garbage?

What's your excuse?
Where's the sequel of this?
Also, pc case general.
another proof that nvidia is the best graphics card maker in history
Alright /g/ I have a question and I need your advice.
I'm going traveling and need a laptop on the cheap. I would like to dual boot a linux distro along with windows for photo and video editing along with allowing the less tech literate people I'm going with to be able to use it to call home and what have you.
It needs a long battery life because don't know when I'm gonna be near a power source when we are moving about.
I've been looking at the Lenovo ideapad 100S but I've been reading that it uses UEFI so its a pain/near impossible...

I thought so but from what I've been reading its difficult to install and if you get it to work things fail like the wifi card and sound card become unrecognized, battery percentage stays at 100% regardless if its plunged in and other shit breaks as well.
Thanks for the response

I got myself a GTX 1070, loving it
Sad that AMD doesn't have any card to compete with it
>inb4 wait for vega
I have waited enough
I initially planned to buy a GTX 1060 or RX 480 but by the time the aftermarket version came out I already had enough saved for a 1070
Why is interpolation so inefficient on windows?
Is it because of the angle backend?
And why does display-resample (alone without interpolation) mess the video playback when my display rate is 60hz. Does it try to sync 23,956hz or 25hz to 60hz? Is it because I have a miserable gpu?
Seriously I can't notice any difference between the medium and high preset. Is it normal?
>Why is interpolation so inefficient on windows?
Not sure what you mean.
Yes, angle will increase frame latency by a fuck ton. Switch to "win" or "dxinterop" to get frame latencies bellow 8ms (usually 4ms no my machine)
Interpolation reduces stutter on 24fps videos but doesn't remove them completely. Also, change your screen to an integer multiple of the framerate to help with the judder. Set your screen to either 48Hz or 72Hz if it supports...

OP's medium preset uses spline36 scaler:
High preset uses ewa_lanczossharp:
Does anyone here use Microsoft Windows unironically?
