I know basics of C. What programming language should I learn next?
what does g think of unbox therapy?
I'm in the market for a laptop/tablet hybrid thing and found this. It seems to be as powerful as the Surface, but less expensive. Does anyone have some experience with it and can tell me about the keyboard/build quality etc.?
Battery life is shit, build quality is shit.
Not bad for the money, but be aware that it won't be as good as a Surface in regards to "polish" (i.e. why people like Macs).
I was just in the same position and ended up grabbing a refurb SP4 for $570 on Newegg (i5/4GB/128GB) which isn't awful. Toss in another $70 for a type cover and, yeah, it's definitely more expensive, but I'd argue definitely worth it.
>most modern CPUs have a built-in secret backdoor that basically gives access to anything the NSA wants
>yet people still use linux over windows because m-muh freedumbs
Are linuxfags retarded?
Ok /g/ found pic related lurking in the closet. What memeOS should I put on it?
>Acer aspire one 751h
>250 GB HDD
>WiFi only model
How do I format my RAM?
/pyg/ Python general
Help and discussions about the Python language, libraries, homework etc.
Web development frameworks
What are you working on, /g/?
>What are you working on, /g/?
Thinking about what to work on.
I already did everything I needed in Python, there's nothing left, as far as I know...
Django - if you have no / little experience in python, because the framework will make a lot of decisions for you in terms of the structure, managing the application's state etc. It's still a good framework even if you are experienced.
Flask - if you want to control every aspect if the app, chose the libraries you use and configure them to your liking.
If you want to hit the ground running fast, I would suggest Django.
why do you guys shit on this? i had the easiest time learning how to code through this.
it gave me exercises and i did them. and it wasn't just some 500 page preface of how python was invented by the ancient jorgumand to subdue humanity.
If you can't trust Wil Wheaton.....who can you trust?
does anybody got tutorial how to install OpenBSD full encrypted ?
or get more information about bioctl ?
Thread for the best player.
I have 200-300 euros and want to buy an amazing portable cassette player.
i.e. Panasonic RQ-SX91, sony WM-DD9, WM-D6C.
I live in Milan and am going to Tours in france tomorow for 3-4 days.
What do you recommend I buy for sound quality(as in listening i don't intend to record things) and where can I buy it?
You have a phone, laptop, and desktop.
How do you keep a government or large private group from spying on you? How do you stay anon?
I don't because I'm not a filthy fucking pedo terrorist like you.
Seriously, just kill yourself right now, or hand yourself in. You have no reason to not be spied on unless you work for a Government organisation or are protecting corporate secrets.
No one on /g/ who isn't a fellow childfucker like you is going to help you break the law.
The government watches you to keep yourself and others safe. Deal with it you traitor.
Edward Snowdon was treasonous and so are you.
What are you getting for Christmas this year? Anything /g/ related?
Decided to treat myself to some Chinese shit from aliexpress this time.
>Lenovo zuk z2 pro phone + accessories
>new mousepad (xl sized)
>new earphones (remax 610d)
What about you anons?
If you order from China it just might still make it in time, if you're lucky.
Been contemplating something like one of those onda laptops since there's no such thing as a budget 1080p laptop here in aus.
Will probably follow up on it in /csg/ though.
Also a new logitech m/k wireless. Going to go pick it up today
can someone help me with this code it must be in c++
it's say" write a code that do this:"
>Which OS does anon use?
>Are you happy with it
>Do you want to switch?
Not that happy with it but it's the lesser evil of all the choices. I'd use Linux 100% of the time if it could give me full performance out of my hardware.
Tangential note: I think if Windows 7, 8, and 10 had allowed much more ricing Linux would not be nearly as popular on /g/ as it is.
How do you call this 5pin connector?
>tfw english is so bd i can't find online manuals to properly replace and finding replacement chips online for this one.
>also don't know if the number have to be the same or higher
Can you give me some hint about those Notebook chips?
Any experience yourself replacing those?
Does anyone know anything about Unix or perhaps about why every time I reboot the machine it takes like an hour of solid attempts to even be able to connect to the machine other than through the serial console? Any help would be appreciated, thank you /g/ :)
I never put in the parameters because the interface facing me just has a reboot option
it looks something like
BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-4.4.0-45-generic root=UUID ro console=ttyS1,9600
>he uses vim or emacs
Why do you insist on using obsolete SHIT, /g/?
Fast, minimalist, works over SSH, powerful regex support for both, emacs works as an effective generalized IDE, Vim modal editing allows insane editing speed with practice.
>it just werks
I'm used to it
I don't think I would recommend either vim (which I've used for 3+ years) or emacs (which I've used for 5+ years) to a newcomer, honestly. They both have so much accumulated cruft and lack modern features. But then, I don't know if there are really any good alternatives these days, since I never really look at text-editors.
If you want it to work over SSH (which has its use-cases), you're probably still stuck with vim+emacs.
where do you download all of your programing ebooks/pdfs?
Now that I am new owner, 4chan needs millions of dollars!
I'd think it would be a 4 way combination of adrenaline, morphine, an anti coagulant, and anti biotics
All the pain relievers in the world wont help physical damage.
Speeding up the physical healing rate is theoretically possible but the downsides are massively reduced (relative to normal healing time) lifespan and greater chances of data copy fuckups AKA cancer
Hello old friend,
shall we take a look at your display and see if we can get a controller for it and maybe replace all your hardware with a raspberry pi? :-)
First we take out the battery, remove all screws from the back (put them where you find them again and dont lose em!), and CAREFULLY take of the back.
It should look like this
Since the antenna of the wireless-module is inside the screens case it is important to disconnect it, so we won't rip everything apart :-)
anybody know what actually happened?
on a budget, getting some new parts for my PC, right now im able to either squeeze in one of the following:
a gtx 1060 6gb with either a 6500/6600, or a 1060 3gb with a 6600k
what should i go for?
You'll likely never be in a position to use all 6gb on a card that weak but it's slightly more future proof and adds more value than the ability to overclock.
Go with 6gb and the 6600/6500
ALERT: Windows restroe feature is a JOKE
IT DOES NOT WORK
YOU NEED TO GO TO SAFE MODE AND FIX PROBLEM YOURSELF

Why does my phone communicate so much with the botnet?
I've been using Arch for about a year and a half and I'm ready to use it as my main OS on my laptop. What Office Suites for linux are good? What about compatibility with MS Word? Keep in mind I mostly use word processors for work and school.
libreoffice is the only one of note that manages to keep functionality. Openoffice used to be good but I believe
You should keep dual booting though, you never know
