Good night, sweet prince ;_;
What's the longest a computer part has lasted you, /g/?
the i7 930 and Gigabyte X58A board that're in my machine to this day. Nehalem Strong
I also have two 160GB hard drives from 2006. that's not really fair though because, though they're plugged in, they see almost no use
Is this too spicy?
Should I lower my overclock? The cpu temp jumps from around 75 to pic related
Press photographers are now banned from shooting RAW.
What else should be changed in the technology the press uses to make them more honest?
newspaper doesn't want to deal with 50+mb files for no reason and wants them preconverted to jpg.
It's like requiring you to submit things in a doc instead of windows 3.1's word perfect format.
Just installed Arch Linux today...
Suggestions on what to install / useful packages?
Also, favorite linux packages thread?
Got a yoga 3 14" for dirt cheap on employee discount. Touch screen goes crazy after waking from sleep mode. any tips?

Sleeping is buggy on linux, you doing hybrid or straight sleep? I'd suggest installing pm-utils if you have those kinds of problems, then sleep using it.
>tfw forgot to compile gentoo with touchscreen support at all
Why aren't powerline adapters more popular /g/?
Also, why is literally every brand and model white?
During my monthly thermal re-pasting, I accidentally broke a bin trying to unbend it after I dropped the CPU.
If I stick it back in the hole will it still work?
If not are there replacement pins available or can it work without the pin?
I recently saw the file hierarchy on a colleagues computer and was surprised.
His directories were all custom, in place of the standard "Program Files" etc..
It was something like this:
Is this a common thing?
Why do people ever say that Windows 10's start menu looks good? This looks like garbage.
how often do you clean your case filters?
>he trusts pre-compiled binaries
>he doesn't run his own distro
The pre-compiled binary is identical to the binary that I would compile thus, it is not necessary for me to compile a program that I haven't changed when other people take the time to do it for me.
Why can't I stop installing ROMs?
This is so addictive, damn it! I know they're made by people who don't shit in the shitter, but still, god damn!
Can't really understand people who do this.
Only time I flashed a couple of ROMs in short succession was when the HD2 was first getting Android. Didn't take long to settle on Tytung's NexusHD2.
Now I'm using a Xiaomi MI4 and the choices are stock or buggy mess. Don't listen to the street shitters on en.miui.com. Buggy Mess.
I really want Kitkat, but the only good working builds are Lollipop.
So I trawl through the kitkat roms, trying to find one that is not buggy.
It's because I rooted my phone recently. (It's not my first rodeo with rooting phones).
I'm sure I'll eventually get angry at all the little bugs and quietly revert to rooted stock/or a stock based ROM, just like I did on my old phone.
The thing is, when you talk about pubic hair you have to explain what race's pubic hair you're talking about because some have it smooth and neat while other's is just an afro.

Is i5 4690k a good processor for gaming?
>tfw you fell for the 1440p meme
I legitamtely feel bad for anyone who fell for the 4k or curved screen memes now.
Here's your reply.
A screen resolution higher than 1080p is usually preferred if you're working on video editing, since most of editors in the profession are going to be making videos in 1080p. This gives them not only a full-resolution preview screen of what their product is going to look like while editing, but also some extra space for using their preferred software's tools.
