Is F# any good or is it only for finance and banking?
>"50 years from now, middle-class people will be able to buy pills to get body shape they like. The fitness industry will become part of the fashion industry, so each season a different body shape will be fashionable."
What did he mean by this? Has Stallman finally gone off the deep end?
I see no evidence for this at all. Stallman is not an expert on physiology or a related field, so he has zero authority. It's just the fantasy of some bloke, probably to justify his own shitty lifestyle.
>"50 years from now, CIA niggers will be able to buy pills to get their dicks sucked by Linus. The MIT industry will become part of the nigger industry, so each retard a different CIA nigger will be hit by my car."
What did he mean by this? Has Davis finally gone off the deep end?
Making up quotes is not effective shitposting, OP.
How do I get Bonzi Buddy for GNU/Linux? Is there a FOSS Bonzi Buddy?
Can I get a background thread?
Came across a handful of laptops:
2x T61 (C2D, 2GB, 80GB)
T520 (i5, 4GB, 250GB)
T530 (i5, 4GB, 250GB)
2006 MBP (CD, 1GB, 80GB)
2008 MBP (C2D, 2GB, 250GB)
Which models would be worth my time upgrading RAM/HDD to maximize profit? Are people willing to pay more for Win10 over 7?
Are you teh retard from Australia that posted last night with a brilian business plan?
>get off computer
>stay awake for extra 3 hrs
>getting ready to sleep, lights out
>your external drive connected to your windows 10 pc springs to life and blinks
>worrying about unwanted processes running because windows
>roll over during night, open eyes to check the time
>very bright white light on other side of room
>your Android Wear device is updating itself and has a full white screen
Why they can't use black screen?
So /g/ I fucked up and installed my CPU into my mobo backwards, it was 4 am and I wasn't paying much attention, i've built 2 PCs before and this was the first time I fucked up so bad. I know that the CPU is probably toast now, but do you think I could still use the mobo? If I can then it wouldn't be a total loss...
Anyone visited http://adultswim.com the last couple of hours/days? What the actual fuck happened?
>tfw downloaded all these sick TV rating icons
Name one thing wrong with systemd
Came across a 2006 Core Duo MBP I'm planning to sell. Great cosmetic condition but It's pretty low spec, 1GB RAM and 80GB HDD. I won't any trouble selling it for $100, as is. Do you think I could get $150-$200 out of it by maxing out the RAM(2GB) and installing a small 120GB SSD?
$150 might be plausible given the apple logo markup if you upgrade it a bit, but it's a bit of a shitbox, and despite what projecting consumertards like >>56280570 will tell you, yes, they will be able to tell the difference for the most part
On a related note to OPs post I've been looking at older second hand laptops lately and macs are sold for 5x what they should be even when they're ancient.
This is insane to me.
>This is a 2008 garbage macbook
>300 bux please
Are u having a bubble m8
Is a light like this a good ground for an antistatic wrist strap?
I'm making a nintoaster and don't m is what to clip it to.
Does the lamp's plug have a ground pin? If not, it's not grounded, and you may as well be clipping it to nothing. The best commonly available ground is to back off the screw holding the faceplate of an electrical outlet to a wall just a little bit and clip to that.
Hello /g/ bros I have a quick question.
What is the best programming software for coding in Java on a Mac? I am beginning college on Monday and I would like to hear your recommendations.
Do you use github? Is gitlab any more convenient?
Where were you when the true router OS was released?
so i just torrented a lot of animu and i was wondering if there was a nice way to organize it, say in an application, instead of going through folders and clicking on each video individually
/adv/ sent me here
ok so i like the idea of plex
i own a raspberry pi 2 but the problem is that i torrent all of my animu on my main pc and it stays on my hard drive
would i have to get an external hard drive to make this work well with my pi?
I have an Ethernet port in my dorm that gives me Internet access, however I would like to get Wi-Fi so I can use it in my apartment nearby.
I bought a Belkin wireless router, is there any way I can configure this so when I plug it directly into the wall (via Ethernet) it will provide me wifi?
Apple Internet Defense Squad will defend this.
Wew lad, you got her, you don't need /g/ anymore
That article is hilariously misleading.
It is amazing how, with the Internet and so much information available in pure text, a story can get so messed up in the retelling.
This is why we don't need a thousand technology news websites.
Hello /g/, I work as a software developer for linux/windows applications, what linux distro should I install?
I like arch but some packages that I need don't have debug versions (wxgtk for example)
I used Xubuntu 15.10 up until now but it has it's own share of problems, one of them being an Ubuntu flavour, the others being stability issues (freezez, UI glitches)
The laptop I use is a piece of shit so basically I want a minimal distro, stable with good packages
based on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Linux_distributions#Package_management_and_installation
openSUSE has most precompiled packages, also has a rolling release which is great, I might try it
You know, I actually liked Edge. It was fast, somewhat reliable and had built in news which I used extensively.
But the recent update to the botnet has made it literally unable to use. It was bad before, but it was fast. Now, I can barely open a tab without it crashing.
So fuck Edge.
Hey /g/ I want to broadcast an SSID that I can connect to from my RPI that doesn't actually connect to the internet but instead just goes to a webpage that I have stored locally on the RPI. Kind of like what you get at hotels.
If you could point me in the right direction or help me out it would be much appreciated
Been there done that.
Pic 100% unrelated.
Black Friday 2016 is on Friday, November 25, 2016!
Working on my wish list for black friday / cyber monday. its all tech stuff of course, and I already know a fair bit about computer components so I could comment for others on that, but I need some input on tech like:
Routers / Modems,
Battery bank chargers for phones
decent medium TVs for consoles or computers, or monitors
Mice / Keyboards and other peripherals
Phones that might be dropping in price for black friday - androids like axon 7? maybe one plus 3? tablets, laptops, and other mobile devices
speakers, dacs, amps, other sound systems
and anything else one could think of for tech products. maybe software deals to look out for?
I'm going to buy some cheap speaker for my computer. Hopefully the prices on 470s will have dropped by then. I also want another SSD. maybe a 5TB HDD is the price is good. And a wireless KB/M.
old thread: >>56275136
What are you working on, /g/?
What should I be looking for in a good dongle? Any recommendations?
When I was shopping around for my laptop a couple years back, I didn't realise what I was getting into with an Intel AC 7260 inside. It has been by far the worst connectivity and troubleshooting experience I've ever had.
I'm looking to get a usb dongle now, with the emphasis being on range and stability > speed.
I am looking for a realistic speech synthesis?
Can u help me?
Your OP pic sums it up pretty well, just break your input into diphones, use your pre-recorded dips for each then play them in succession. Bonus points for applying filters to make diphone -> diphone sound better
I found this cool guy going through some old boxes, is he technology?
Hi /g/uys, I don't often post here but I need quick help.
Ever since I got my current laptop (2 years ago, maybe more) it's audio output socket wasn't working, which wasn't a huge problem for me since I usually had it plugged to a TV.
But my question is:
Is it somehow possible to use mic socket as headphones socket? I'm on vacation and I just can't use it without headphones.
I'm happy with just a "yes" or "no" answer just to see if it's worth lurking moar.
pic rel, my laptop
just made the leap from windows to linux and i want to know what are the coolest things i can do?
If you use Windows or Mac OSX. You don't belong on this board. Daily reminder.
