Does anyone know the name of those jackets that block photographs? I think they're reflective or something and they ruin pictures... Not sure of a better way to explain it
I saw a guy wearing one at Bsides but I was too much of an autist to ask him about it
what if I painted my car with that reflective paint ? would it be invisible to speed radars ?
Those things only work if flash is used, and even then with the super high sensitivity of sensors nowadays they could still pick out enough facial features if they saved the RAW picture.
They sell a transparent covering that can be put over a license plate for those cameras, either comes in spray form that is hard to notice for human eyes but causes a blur in cameras or you have the darker ones that are a transparent LCD panel that the driver can switch on to black out the plates when he knows he's in view of a camera.
And no your car would not be invisible to speed radars. Learn how aperture radar works if you want to beat them, it's an involved process.
I always wondered why criminals in movies didn't have a mechanized license plat cover built into their trunk.
Like ok, you press a button on your dash and a little black plate covers your liscense for when your escaping cops so they don't know who you are. When you aren't on the run, you put it back up so cops don't stop you.
you best have deep wallets OP, the jacket in the picture is above 500 GBP.
also there was a supreme x north face colab which made the same style jacket with the reflective coat, but again they are a phenominal amount of money
This is now a stealth clothing/tinfoil hat thread.
Just watch out; it contains scenes of race mixing.
Ridiculous, they use FLIR not thermal imaging, and can see the heat from your breath if it's cold outside. The only time you'll be subjected to a thermal camera might be at an airport if they're screening for signs of disease. And even then they're phasing out these systems since like every other security system at an airport it doesn't work and is only there to make the travellers feel safe.
Not that great really, read the book "without rule of law" to learn better tips on this topic.
Its called 'techwear', and it typically gets a thread on /fa/ every few hours.
The darling of techwear over on /fa/, btw, is the TAD ranger jacket. $450, goretex, wire mangement system, yadda yadda yadda...
See there are these things that connect to other things, called wires. Earphones to cell phone. Cell phone to backup batteries. Maybe a MP3 player to an amp, to a pair of headphones. The jacket has these folds of fabric, sewn in such a way to accommodate the connector between these 2 items... the "wire"... so it does not get jumbled up in your clothing.
Id be happy to explain any other big, confusing words that made your head hurt.
yeah, i mean just look how fucking ridiculous this guy looks... what an outragious and faggy looking design! Its like he thinks he's on a fashion runway!
... i know most people on /g/ are socially challenged... but has it gotten so bad that a fucking plain jacket is enough to get the mouth breathers on the offensive?
The problem is that you probably wear shit like
>>42686290 to your programming class in college. This is the same thing as cargo pants. Yes, they are practical—no, they're not fashionable.
you didnt realize people used headphones and cell phones too? Are you one of those faggits who uses bluetooth headphones?
I honestly cant understand how someone could take issue with wire management in clothing. Have you never put a pair of IEMs in your head and thought "Gee, sure wish this dangling wire had a secure place to go so its not just hanging infront of my jacket, or inside my jacket where it gets caught on folds and tugs on my ears"...
Oh, of course not... because you dont have a reason to put a jacket on, because you never leave your climate controlled basement.
I don't need a whole system to manage one wire (even though it confusingly branches into 2 later on) from my pocket to my head. Just wedge the earbuds in your ear, and they'll support the 0.1g of weight from the wire.
But it only becomes a faux-pas when you wear those clothes in situations where they have no use. Cargo pants are great if you're working on some electronics system and you have lots of little bits, parts and tools you need to have on hand.
Wearing cargo pants to a college class is pointless and an indicator of poor social awareness. Most of this applies to your jacket with built-in spaghetti dispenser as well.
You're right... everyone else who uses the system are idiots. And the wire management system us ususally just a tab on the inside of the zipper, and a sewn fold along the zipper to tunnel the cable through... Its not some fucking massive investment that took decades of R&D.
6. 2 chest pocket, 2 arm pocket, 1 wrist pocket. It was designed for PMC's so they are all arranged in important places for someone who is wearing a chestplate and vest.
I own the jacket, and i admit it is kinda weird looking since all the zippers have a dangling pull line(even more so if you lift your arms, since there are pit vents that also have zippers, and a vents on the back with 2 *MORE* zippers) but hey... you want a high end jacket thats made to be worn in really shitty conditions? You gotta take what they give(read:sell) ya.
I guess i could cut the zipper pulls off... but its a $500 jacket, so i think i'll just leave them.
>You will never design and model your own cyberpunk clothing that people will pay thousands for
>You will never give a jacket to William Gibson and he'll be pretty happy with it
If the city has turned into a war zone it helps if you try to blend in with the gray surroundings instead of trying to mix with people that aren't going to be there
So it only blocks flash because it will overexpose the picture / area the dude is standing?
But I suck at sewing so it's impractical.
Actually the Levi's Commuter cargo pants are okay, and the only techwear-ish item I can think of that isn't insanely overpriced.
They shouldn't call it cargo pants because they actually look good
High fashion isn't practical.
are you an idiot? THEY ARE CARGO PANTS
god damn brand whores "levi cargo pants arent the same thing!"
does this look familiar? first result on google images for cargo pants, the only difference from the other picture is the levi ones are slightly tighter
It's weird because that's exactly what they make fun of, people who dress like Matrix or anime characters. Then:
>gothninja and techwear everywhere
And now dressing like a normal human being means you need to gb2 /r/MFA.
The pockets look like they have quite a bit of leeway, actually.
Thank you based Sruli
Forgot where pic related is from but it looks cool
/g/ is as bad as /v/ when it comes to fashion.
It's just reflective material. I've seen it mostly on athletic gear, mainly Nike. The stuff Nike uses is from 3M but I don't think its available to consumers as I could only find their tape.
I have one of the Nike jackets that's covered in the stuff. Not only do photos get messed up but you sort of glow under any light source.
Is it possible to create a solar panel jacket that emits electromagnetic radiation to damage electronics within a range? Or store power and emit an electromagnetic pulse at the touch of a button?
Rothco and Condor have a jacket exactly like this (cable management and all). got one at a military clothing store for $90. quality feels really good and repels water really well. it's called the Condor Summit 602
Fashion police of the future making sure you're not wearing stealth clothing or costumes like that one Arnold was wearing in Total Recall.
Doesn't work. Even my point and shoot can see through it.
Oh and they also arrest people for removing the RFID tags from clothing or visible logos
Adbusters types who grind down the buttons on their jeans get to go to reeducation camps sponsored by the clothing industry.
We just have to use mre paint, he he he.
From left to right:
>alright, but ditch the shoes
>you look fine
>you're cute, you get a pass
>lose weight. get longer pants
>are you a giraffe?
>ditch the top or the bottom, you can't have both
>your jacket is not a fucking blazer, and ditch the skintight pants
>if you want to dress like a woman, that's fine, but ditch the facial hair
>adopt shades or stop trying to look tough
>is that a fucking camisole?, you look like a failed tranny
As usual the guy wearing the simplest outfit looks the most normal and best dressed.
And a lot of those guys have terrible posture. You can tell that they're either clenching their shoulders while holding a cellphone all day or hunched over at a computer most of the time.
>couple eating are better dressed than any of them
Not him but that color is Coyote Brown.
And I'm thinking that the strap is part of a thin messenger bag that wraps around his hip, could be integrated into the jacket or there's a cut out in the back for it.
i have the same jacket in black.
its comfy as fuck. you are either so fat you cant get one bug enough to fit your enormous girth, or you are some scrawny 105lb scrawny manlet that looks like a 10 year old in one.
same here, bro.
I use mine with my other softshell stuff, and some 'equipment' for urban 'exploring'...
Criminals are dumb.
That's why they're criminals.
If they were smart enough to think of something so incredibly obvious they would have been successful enough in life to not need to be criminals.
you're probably american, i am too. eurobros have really gotten into tight pants the last decade or so. looks normal to them. isn't a /fa/ thing. they do prefer very tight and tapered pants though.
Since this is now a tech wear thread, I have a question to ask. Why are the majority of tech wear models Asian? I've went on /fa/ a few times out of curiosity, and seen tech wear threads where almost all of the models are Asian.
they never left m8
anyone who doesn't unconditionally love aviators is lying to themselves
IMO it looks ugly, reminds me of something a fifty year old cyclist would wear hiking or camping. I bought a brown canvas jacket. Its tough, offers a good shield from the elements, has a lot of pockets without the stupid placement, and looks a hell of a lot better than that science teacher looking garbage
went to their site. 9,5/10 would buy. 239$ btw
