Looks like that battlestation thread is going to die anytime soon.
Nice, clean and pleasing to look at. Is that razer blade any good? Not going to buy it obviously, just curious seeing it here.
All that goodies, and you can't even afford a headphone stand..
>inb4 one of my headphone is also on the monitor (that's just there for picture day, 1 stand can hold both just fine).
A headphone stand is definitely on the list of stuff I need to purchase.
I personally think it's a very good laptop, same build quality as mac but it runs windows natively. It gives me a lot of power on the go too.
Also before anyone asks that is the terminal version of the Model M with no lights and it has blank keycaps.
I just realised I tagged the wrong thread which is dying.
You can some pretty nice stands like the one i have for like $34.
Here's a link for you anon:
You're more than welcome. Thank you, they sound pretty good too, hehe.
Though... I am considering getting them colorwared like picture cause i have an unhealthy obsession with purple and i think they look rather cute like that.
Go for it! Black is my second to purple.
Pic related, unhealthy purple addiction.
I'm going home on Sunday.
My apartment is going to be so damned hot compared to the summerhouse where I currently am and there's pretty much no way to get proper ventilation going.
Fuck that shit. Winter is coming, but it really needs to come sooner.
That's so cute
In other news, I should be able to paint my room around the 10th August.
8/10 nice and clean
7/10 also nice and clean, but i didn't like the white/silver monitor
9/10 a little messy, but i doesn't matter
7/10 looks pretty cozy
4/10 not really a "battlestation" but looks quite comfy
9,9/10 so simple and nice
5/10 you moved your desk?
>i got a question /g/, which of these headsets would you choose? (and why)
Sennheiser HD 518
>Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80
Sennheiser HD 558
>Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 32

>4/10 not really a "battlestation" but looks quite comfy
This is my true form.
The apartment I expect to see when I get back home on Sunday.
It's going to be so hot. I hope it won't damage my figurines.
love the wallpaper / station, mind sharing?
Any of you nerds gonna be at comic con this weekend? I don't have tickets :( but I plan on checking out some of the stuff outside the con.
here you go
love the station
I still dig the hdds on the wall but your shits all cramped now like a tiny cockpit, if you could spreadi all out on the desk and sit in the middle that would be better
tl;dr get a new desk
This is not true your station is a bunch of black generic shit on a white table next to a white wall and a white mug.
That red lamp looking thing is the most interesting thing about it and its barely in the picture.
A good picture cannot help with you not having the slightest bit of a personality present in your surroundings.
And I'm saying that a photo is the least of his worries regarding how good the station looks because it just looks plain as fuck, like somebody just bought all that shit unpacked it and put it on a desk in a fucking hospital or something.
Don't delude him into the idea that its just a bad picture.
Shit speakers, shit monitors, shit desk, shit cable management.
Apply yourself. Not even trolling, this station is completely unremarkable. That screen layout and lifeless black and white scheme looks terrible.
To be fair though it IS a bad picture.
I understand why some people think it's dull and plain but I really like black and white and minimal so it works for me.
I am considering getting some art on my walls but chances are it'd be black and white as well.
And I don't see a need for having toys and bottles on my desk either so that's why normally there is just a cup.
Good to see an slight discussion on /g/ for once though.
whatever you can put there helps even if its black and white
Not that I believe anyone would be using that station like that with nothing around at all.
Cleaned up too much for the picture, and then took it in a way so we wont call you out on the spaghetti under the desk.
>That monitor alignment
At least take a few lessons from infinity.
That monitor arm also sticks out too much and makes it look ugly.
Triple monitors and speakers on a small desk like that looks way too cramped.
Those glossy screen bezels look thick and nasty.
Fix that cable spaghetti.
Also this station just gives off the vibe of try hard to look good, without it actual looking good.
>That monitor arm also sticks out too much and makes it look ugly.
When you're sat at the desk you can't see the arms at all.
>Triple monitors and speakers on a small desk like that looks way too cramped.
It's actually a pretty big desk though.
>Those glossy screen bezels look thick and nasty.
>Fix that cable spaghetti.
I plan on.
>Also this station just gives off the vibe of try hard to look good, without it actual looking good.
Of course I try hard, I don't want a disgusting station do I?
>Its tryhard at looking good, not being good.
Yes. I try and make it look good. I like good looking things.
>removing every single thing that would suggest a human actually uses that thing
I have a bag of peanuts, documents/pen, and my DSLR on my desk at the moment.
Nice mouse and cable
Did you make that desk or buy it? Jelly as fuck
really nice. regret not picking up those Lego F1 sets, fuck they're expensive now.
these look great.
That's like me with powder blue.
havent been here in a while. I wish I had the initiative and the money to update my BS.
Hokusai's made some nice things.
It makes me regret that I didn't buy some nice prints back when I was in Japan, but seeing as Japan isn't really going anywhere, I should be able to pick something up next time I go.
Hopefully next year if all goes as I've planned.
There was this shop in Ginza (I think) called Haibara where they sold a ton of Japanese handmade paper, and they had a bunch of prints too. I hope that shop is still around.
Dj? What no, I dont own a radio station.. or fuck up with turntables at a club or whatever dj's do.
I just record guitar, electronic and acoustic. Also some percussion or random soucnd effets for video/school projects. Not drums obviously, you would do that with a dynamic mic.
That mic also usually tours with me to the studio at my school, along with laptop and the interface. So at home it doesn't really see that much use.
It seems that the shop is 200+ years old.
So it'll probably stay around.
At least their temporary location (due to redevelopment) is close to the original, so I should be able to find the place next year as well.
And it's closer to Nihonbashi than Ginza, so maybe it's because I walked from Ginza when I stumbled upon the shop.
Nice place anyway, would recommend.
Make a bookmark folder called "Japan" or something.
But I guess you don't have any interest in going there in the foreseeable future like I do.
If I'm really lucky I can maybe get to do a little internship sort of thing with my company's branch site over there.
I work for Grundfos, and they've got a testing facility in Japan, which might be cool to work at for a couple of months.
I dont really game that much, but when skyping I usually use a headset.
A condenser mic is pretty dang sensitive for general chatting. I prefer to use it for other stuff, as it should be.
Take a new photo but don't forget about pic related.
If you stay there a while, and this being /g/, used pachinko machines are everywhere. I just built a cabinet for one of mine.
What's the deal with all the vertical monitors? Is that the cool thing to do these days?
It's vertical pinball and when you make them in the goal, it rolls on the slot machine on the screen.
At the actual parlor, if you win on that you win more balls you exchange for prizes. Gambling is technically illegal, so there's always some place nearby that exchanges the prizes back into cash.
please ignore the cats that the vga cable isn't inserted, i have no electricity to my station and that the cat is dead
i think over all its a nice case, although 4chan didnt warn me about the mic/headphone jacks.
they have a lip above them which prevents me from being able to plug in my m50s, so i use the jack from my surround sounds controller
Is there a noticeable difference in display or build quality between the Dell S series and the ultrasharps? This S series has a thin bezel and is $100 cheaper, but I still want a great monitor. I will be gaming and watching Chinese cartoons.
Heh, I wish. 2610. Kinda garbage, but I need to test some software's ability to pull metrics out of it.
free chair and desk
cords are mostly at full length so cant bunch them
yeah i just recently added the other 2 monitors so ill get a high res image and tile it soon
and yes i need to organize my desktop
Finally cleaned up back behind my desk, so this pic is a bit outdated. Banana plug'd my amp/bookshelves, which was fun.
>Model M keyboard
You're my bro, bro.
Sorry for the mess btw.
I just bought myself a nice new table, which means an upgrade from one 24inch monitor to either two brand new 24incher or two 27 inchers.
I will be primarily watching movies and playing bidya.
I have a couple of questions for you /g/ents if you'd be so kind.
Are two 27 inch monitors overkill? Or should I just stick with two 24 inchers? If anyone here has a pair of 27s currently, could you chime in with a picture and a comment on how well it suits you?
Second topic. Are Dell monitors that much better than ASUS equivalents? Is the steep price gap worth it?
This software is an internal testing tool. It pulls a lot of live metrics and configurations to determine a network's suitability for video conferencing.
I was thinking about using OpenNMS for network monitoring, but at the moment I don't see the benefit. The only gear I always run are an Asus router and a mindless TP-Link switch. Everything else is on-demand.
Micca MB42x. Really popular here on /g/, they're pretty solid for the price. I paired them with a Topping TP21 amp.
I'm working with a GTX670 when it comes to a video card, so my main concern is that my fps will be shitty if I decide to get two 1440p monitors. Am I right to assume that?
Would getting a second to run it in SLI be a good idea if this is true?
I'm thinking I'll get myself a couple of IPS 1080p 24 inchers. What do you /g/ents think? A good match for my video card?
(Not mentioning the fact that I'd be saving a shitload of money also)
So the extra 100 or so is worth it?
Because the left speaker has all the input/power connections and volume control, while my tower and DAC are on the right side. I've got the connections from the DAC to the speakers swapped to compensate, so the speaker on the right is the right channel and left is left.
Good eyes though, not many notice it, or plenty do and choose to ignore it.
>Ultra settings in most vidya?
lol i don't even do ultra at 1080, besides i mostly play shit like dorffort
i probably cant answer your other questions, but i'd never go back to below 2560x1600
I don't want to pester you with questions, but I just want to get into your head and see what's so significant about the jump in resolution from 1080p.
Can you give me a bit more detail as to why you prefer it so much, if you don't mind?
1080p feels small in comparison
it's nothing magical, it's just more pixels. if you don't feel like you need that then just stick with 1080
go to a frys or something and compare a 27" 1080 screen to a 27" 1440 screen, you'll see immediately why it's so much better
all that poning... i barely keep an old customized one, for the fun but I don't get the idea of exposing a whole collection.
and the alternate station, where i do electronic stuff and fix computers as passtime. i should clean up that mess and take a decent pic.
Artemide Tizio, litterally the thinkpad of desklamps, got that one for about 100eu and it was really worth it - compared to most of Ikea's chinese stuff.
okay Chris, shut up now.
Recently taken for the first time in a few years.
wow, mr. holmes, perhaps you can help me with another case? I have this problem with my nose bleeding profusely after I pick out boogers with a pair of tweezers. what are your thoughts?
That was taken with a D3100 because the pictured D40 was out of charge. Despite being an older and probably considered 'worse' camera, I prefer to use the D40. I feel like I can get more out of it than the 3100. Even with 6.1MP.
Below the keyboard is a Korg drumpad and nanoKey2
Kinda shitty. Im OCD about my mount but I just got them mounted. Might get a different mount.
>Clutter visible on the file cabinet thing on the left and on the windowsill
>Dust not specifically dealt with but conspicuously absent in certain areas
I may be reading too far into things, but it looks like somebody did a quick tidy-up job before the photo.
Best Steins;Gate girl.
Maybe get a (framed) poster or something to go in the blank space to the left.
A little ambient lighting behind the monitors might be a nice touch if you don't want the whole setup to look so... flat.
>Don't have a headphone stand
>It's a good laptop, regardless.
>It's a nice sturdy case that can cool my components.
>It has good sound quality for what I use it for
>I like to keep my desk clean, regardless.
0/10 try harder
Found that sub for free recently. I love it.
/g/ newfag here, I'm looking for a new keyboard and I keep seeing smaller mechanical keyboards like thus on in the picture. I like it a lot but for the life of me I cannot find one like it online, anyone know what it is?
I'm starting chapter 02 tonight.
I'm tired. Long shift at work.
How are you guys tonight?
>In what ways is it better than its competition that justifies the price?
>It's still rice, and I doubt you were stuck with it.
>You could have done better.
>Is this a roundabout admission that my suspicions were correct?
Hey, could you please tell me how you got your speakers to mount and angle like that? I'm building a music production workstation and I'd love to be able to fit in my monitors above my triple monitor setup in the same fashion as your setup. Thanks!
I got an older Sony 4:3, 19" LCD off Craigslist for $40 if that counts.
Would like to replace both of my monitors one day, as they're each around 10 years old, but they've never had issues, no dead pixels, etc.
Was a good investment for the price.
damn nigga it ain't rocket science
they're mounted to the walls and on some kind of platform with a little ledge to keep them from sliding off
Yes, I'm aware- but is there somewhere I can buy those pieces or did you build it yourself?
> Found that sub for free recently.
> I love it.
Found these two full-range for free. Stuff's better when free!
Was mostly looking for something really cheap, just to see if I'd actually make use of dual monitors.
Secondly, I was looking for a monitor that was the same height so they'd line up better.
Pic is from when I first hooked them up on my old battlestation in 2012.
I'm looking at getting this monitor and this custom monitor stand for my new build
are they good? will I have any problems while gaming or in portrait mode?
pick related is going to be my future set up btw
Quick question /g/.
I'm holding back from a certain monitor because it doesn't have DVI. Only VGA and HDMI. Should that matter if I'm gonna be PC gaymen? I had always assumed that DVI was superior.
Just got the larger monitor and the stand today :D
hey bb, i've got some big solid wood for u ;)
Decided to update this with a better picture quality. This time with more cat.
Wait isn't this the station that the WoW PvP guy uses. Hmm tryng to think of his name....
All I can think of is that he's heavily Razor endorsed
they are supposed to write down the nominal impedance. But for a desktop's speakers powered by more chinese stuff, I don't think matching impedances really are this kind of users concerns.
had to wait for the previous battlestation thread to die
Getting ready for a battlestation reboot. It's gonna be epic.
