What do you guys think about Tasty PC? She seems to know what she's talking about and the video work is crisp and clear although a little oversaturated for my tastes. Corsair out the ass for everything, though
Wendell's got the knowledge and taste but if he had Dmitry's mad bokeh skills and Linus' enthusiasm minus the cringy humor, he'd be unstoppable.
One of the very few that doesn't have ads in the middle of their videos and actually hates Apple with a passion.
I-I agree with you anon-san. He gives really in depth reviews and covers a lot of things besides the usual "lol it has these specs and costs this much" He talks about how a device works in daily usage and covers a bunch of details people tend to skip over.
She's hot but like I think she is legitimately "sold out" not like linus either. But she does know what she is talking about and even responds to most of her comments. Which coincidentally are just as good as the videos
>Hey tasty!! :3 I love your reviews and you're so sweet haha I liked this case too I bet you can fit alot inside it. Where are you from btw (I wanna know so maybe we can go on a date XD)
heres a game: find better.
protip: you can't
I get that he has to make money and pay people and whatever shit. but damn he is bad at shilling. I have to think it's intentionally cheesy just to make a point that he doesn't like doing it.
that said, why is he employing like 8 people to make a video a day? their production costs can't be that high can they? slick lives in the basement so you presumably don't need to pay him much.
He wants to turn his youtube channel into an actual company, or something like that. That's why he's after the whole "Linus Media Group" thing as well. I doubt that it will go that well in the long run, but it's his investment after all. Also, he mainly hires people straight from college, so I doubt that he's paying them a whole lot.
see I thought that, and then I watched a few of his videos that were constant dick jokes and innuendo. they've gone to all the effort of making the production quality quite amazing, and then produce content that's so painful to watch that I have to skip parts.
He employs all those people, and his videos still look like shit. Apparently not a single one of them knows how to properly meter and diffuse light. Whoever does his audio constantly fucks up the levels, and compresses it to hell at back.
Technigger is a one man show, and his production values are through the roof compared to Linus twink tips.
That's the thing, I think he doesn't realize that he's "just" producing youtube content. He gets that he has to pander to a specific audience on youtube and that's why he fills his videos with screeching and dick jokes, but he also wants to be "serious" about his job. I doubt that it's possible, he should just ride the youtube wave for a few more years with low production costs (because who the hell actually cares on youtube) and make more money for himself and his family. I doubt that his investments will actually pay off.
> He employs all those people, and his videos still look like shit.
yeah. his most recent one was blown out for absolutely no reason. I couldn't work out why that could possibly pass a preflight let alone be published. they are better than a lot of channels in the production department (their lighting exists, which is more than other people), but I don't know if it justifies having so many employees.
>He gets that he has to pander to a specific audience on youtube and that's why he fills his videos with screeching and dick jokes, but he also wants to be "serious" about his job.
there's a market for a "serious" reviewer. out of my circle of friends there's a definite demand for somebody who reviews things properly (not just reading the specs off the box and the front page of the reviewers guide). linus almost gets there, but falls back to making stupid jokes and just glossing over the details to keep the length down. I'd take a 20 minute review of a case rather than linus' insane 8 minutes of ramble, 10 seconds of graphs shown on the screen, and 2 minutes of advertising. luke's videos are rambling but more interesting, he actually seems to want to describe how he uses things (not his portion segments, the videos he does the whole thing), but doesn't quite have the confidence in front of the camera.
While I occasionally find myself seeing some of her reviews, she often misses important points, has a boring voice and way of interpreting information, & she only covers very mainstream stuff.
That's actually the point I was trying to make, sorry it's late... He started out as "just" a youtube channel for NCIX. He didn't have too much responsibility there and could do stupid bs. The stupid bs attracted lots of (I would imagine younger) people who built his core audience, sadly. I get this strong vibe from him that he really wants to outgrow this and that he would love to just trash half of his audience, but he obviously can't do that because of image and financial reasons. I would also like some longer and indepth videos from him, I think that he's actually a smart guy, but that would probably not fare well with the attention span of the average youtube user. I really think that he should scale everything back, keep decent production values and start over. Currently he's reinvesting so much money (apparently) and it will all be for naught.
>there's a market for a "serious" reviewer.
there can not be a "serious" reviewer.
the reason is simple: no money, no top of the shelf tech to review unless they get test samples which they only get for making the products look rather good than bad.
yeah, I know. there's no money in being honest. reviewers won't give bad reviews on stuff they got as a free sample, it's cutting the hand that feeds you.
agrees on all points. he's stuck with his audience he doesn't necessarily like pandering to.
some review samples get sent back. if you sent a sample to a reviewer and they said your product was a pile of shit, would you send them one again? there's a financial incentive for reviewers to give positive reviews. you can't get around that unless the reviewer doesn't accept freebies and just buys it themselves.
That's not the point, if you shit all over a product or if you are too picky you probably won't get a sample for their next product. It's simply not feasible to buy everything you review, so it's nigh impossible to have an honest and critical tech channel.
presumably at some point there's a point at which you actually could buy your own review kit and then sell it for a slight loss, but you would be at a significant time disadvantage to people like linus who get pre release versions of the cards to review.
"unfortunately the motherboard tray is not removable"
>her mouth always sounds so wet and spitty...
Linus is quite the faggot but I admire his energy and enthusiasm. I can't really stand to watch his channel for more than 10 minutes though.
I like mobiletechreview, she's drama-free and gives a nice, succinct rundown of the devices.
damn it linus. hardcore shilling (notice no advertisement in this episode because it's paid for by Asus), and the gamma still isn't right.
he's dismissing notifications on his phone. it's fucking annoying. like he can't put his phone to one side for the 10 minutes he stands in front of the camera. once you see it, you can't stop seeing it, so welcome to the club.
Wendell is the king of /g/,
everyone else is faggots, dumbfucks and actors.
Logan is more tolerable than Linus even though he doesn't know shit about computers in comparison, simply because he is himself and isn't afraid to tell his opinions no matter what they are.
Now fuck off.
>. luke's videos are rambling but more interesting, he actually seems to want to describe how he uses things (not his portion segments, the videos he does the whole thing), but doesn't quite have the confidence in front of the camera.
Luke seems to be comfortable on camera, but he isn't a Linus.
I think he is many times better than Linus in his knowlege
Imagine if Luke and Wendell decided to start doing reviews with each other with the Linus Media Group resources
I came across this channel recently and found it a pretty good watch:
Most of it's probably not gonna be of interest if you're not into gay men, but the repair/mod videos are interesting.
