Post technology that we thought looked nice, but today are hideous.
Not true the PowerBook G4 looks good even by todays standards.
I remember a story on the news how people were buying Windows 95 despite not even owning a PC.
W95 is still beautiful to me.
Same with this baby.
I was only in middle school at the time, but I can't imagine businesses looking at this and thinking it would be appropriate. I imagine that's why my dad's company stuck with 2000 for a few years before finally caving in.

Nah. It's rarely an aesthetics decision. It's usually IT not wanting to/being incapable of doing the upgrade(s), loss of compatibility with software deploys (whole company uses X, new OS won't run X and makers of X will not be patching soon), and bean counters being short-sighted about the upfront cost of upgrading vs. cost of maintaining legacy.
I didn't have one but I thought it was nice at the time.
Electronic personal organizers were nice while being a kid.
Dis was nice. And so were portable DVD players.
JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE FUCK
