Fucking laptop thread. and no the picture doesn't mean i'm an apple fan
>The good ones are overpriced as hell for what they give in return
Nope. You are used to paying almost nothing for underperforming crap that breaks just out of warranty.
Would you eat McDonalds if you could afford prime steak? Would you eat ramen?
>Would you eat McDonalds if you could afford prime steak? Would you eat ramen?
I'd much rather eat delicious McD's and ramen than a shitty raw undercooked bleeding slab of flavorless flesh that needs a gallon of sauce on it just to make it edible.
Turns out Toshiba Porteges only started using the Trackpoint again for Haswell laptops.
ya blew it
Thinkpads are kill, Porteges are kill, Probooks are kill.
Latitude master race.
matte is just blurry blobs and gloss is mirror like. any issues you have viewing your display outside is purely a brightness issue; the added benefit of gloss is it doesn't look like someone smeared petroleum jelly all over your shit.
The Vaio is the MBA before Apple even made one
This is the silly thing. I got the Nexus 5 and compared the 1080p screen to the 720p screen for detail. My eyes just couldn't tell which was which, and the Nexus 5 suffers in performance for being 1080p.
Retina is just about pixel density, but there's a limit to where that makes practical sense.
This isn't retards comparing DVD to Bluray and saying they couldn't see the difference. When I owned the Nexus 4, I was already blown away by the pixel density. The Nexus 5 doesn't look any more impressive in that regard.
Guys, recommend me a laptop. I'm thinking of jumping into a thinkpad but then I'd have to customize it, right? I'm interested in gaymen but not at optimal settings and using FL studio because I'm a tool, but also just general fuckers like YouTube.
Tldr: best general laptop for price?
>Why are laptops so shit nowadays? The good ones are overpriced as hell for what they give in return
They used to offer DVD drives, more ports, the option to easily replace stuff etc. but the hard drive sizes were really small and their graphical and processing capabilities weren't that solid.
>T60p running Debian.
>Iceweasel is excruciatingly slow.
>Can't even play the Ferguson streams and watch niggers chimp out with Iceweasel closed.
>Can't even play 720p anymore for some reason.
I need to install Gentoo, but getting a newer system would be nice. I'm cheap though.
Got it for $233 USD, its not bad imo. Should get a big battery for it though.
Yoga 2 13" i5
Zenbook 13" i5
Vaio Fit 13" i5
Same price range, same specs and I'm still undecided. I really think MBA is not an option as it fails in either price, processor or resolution depending on mode
Normally I'd agree with you, seeing as HP's consumer range is absolute garbage, but Pro/EliteBooks before Ultrabook designs are built to that same standard testing ThinkPads go through.
Well at least this model was anyway.
reminds me a little of this, btw anybody ever owned this? I would have loved this back in the day
rMBP is the best in its price range
prove me wrong
