Old one almost capped.
>16GB of slow ram
>Crossfire 7800 cards
That is some retarded setup.
Isn't it just horrible?
Looks comfy as fuck.
Did you rotate your entire setup or is my memory shitting me?
>Start buying parts for new rig in august
>Wait until black friday for fans
>All the SP/AF Corsair fans have gone up a few bucks in price since
So... Should I buy now or will they drop in price again?
Nice trains. It's almost time for me to oil up my Lionel and get it ready for Christmas.
>Still mirin those speakers.
Me too. They sure are beautiful.
Transitioning, probably gonna be moving a bunch of stuff around.
Just finished grad school, and gonna spend a lotta time here before I even think about applying for jobs
r8 mine pls
how do i into these temps?
I bought a 2560x1080 for my parents this christmas. I doubt they'll ever need something larger. LG 29UM65W.
It's too wide for me. I'll be selling mine eventually and getting something smaller. I just need to get a new computer first, then I'll continue working on the rest of my setup.
wow these threads have become really dead since the last time I was on /g/
6/10 please take another photo
8/10 nice and clean, muh nigga
don't have a camera atm, but i use two of these, no cables on the floor.
For those of you with computers on the floor, when it comes to vacuuming, what do you do? Turn it off, move it, vacuum under it, then move it back? Don't you get worried bugs might crawl up in there?
i'm with chloe, y u do dis D:
I'm so buying these speakers whenever i can. How do they sound?
you can do better anon. that's really poor/sloppy decoration.
ayyyy we have same brand speakers and headphones :3c
>i'm with chloe, y u do dis D:
Opens up more desk space, allows me to watch my TV from my bed without turning it, more room for my consoles, racing gear, puts my PC deeper under the desk instead of slightly sticking out and me constantly knocking against it with my chair. It's pretty much a better layout in every way possible
new keyboard and lights. moved my broken lamp onto a drawer behind me and it helps a lot with ambient light.
I love your lighting
maybe take a closer one while your at it?
what'd you go to grad school for?
>Aren't you afraid of cat hair getting on your HD800 drivers through?
I always keep it from my cat except for that one time so no.
>Also, Swedish countryside?
I guess you could call it that.
I just discovered that there's a huge cluster of biochemical and pharmaceutical companies in the bay area, so I might send a bunch of applications to companies there. I've always wanted to move to the west coast.
Nah, high tech companies are conservative as fuck, especially the asians.
I am a libertarian myself and I got into a debate with 2 coworkers (both asian) as to why I don't like the death penalty. Their response was "Don't kill people then"
Yeah, I know. Ignore what I said about finding friends since you're already through with school. The SJWs are still going to be a pain in the ass though. Especially if you live in Oakland.
Nope, average housing prices in Oakland just surpassed San Jose because while San Jose is building as much housing as possible (built 7 apartment buildings in 2013 and more in 2014) Oakland built zero (0).
You can thank the ultra lib anti developer mindset in Oakland.
Actually, it's twofold. The hipsters are all leaving SF because no one in their right mind pays 3k for a one bedroom apartment, they all moved to Oakland and rental prices started sky rocketing. But since it's the same idiots who fight to maintain their stupid skyline in San Francisco, the Oakland hipsters don't want new housing built and fight it at every turn.
they've actually started pushing blacks out of Oakland, It's getting whiter and whiter.
Anyone got a recommend tutorial for making executibles?
No doubt. Liberals are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. Coming from a guy who grew up in Alabama, it amazes me how in denial the northeast is of doing the very things they consider "racism"
tiny desk gang
its chilly again so as I'm posting this I'm running prime 95 to warm up my room.
What I am saying is that if they just let people build new housing there would be enough for everyone and the cost of housing across the board would be much lower and gentrification wouldn't even be a thing.
Man I seriously can't tell if you're being sarcastic
Nah, I'm Jewish. Much more of a minority than blacks in Alabama.
>tfw going to school in the northeast has opened my eyes to why everyone hates jews
I swear I was never like those
Not being sarcastic one bit. I always just assumed libs just didn't know how backwards they were being. Claiming to want one thing but then doing everything they can to make the other happen.
It makes sense, they are scared of blacks and want them away from them. They talk about affordable housing and instead of just letting the market provide the housing they want low income housing on the other side of town away from them.
Nope. I haven't been near their Hillel shit since my first day on campus.
It's cliquey as fuck. They ask where you're from when you meet them, and if you aren't from New York or New Jersey they don't bother. If you are they'll see "if you know this guy" or what synagogue or whatever.
The vibe I get is that since they grew up around so many Jews, they were able to break off into little factions. Where I'm from just being Jewish is enough to form that sense of camaraderie.
Cognitive dissonance. They try to justify their hypocrisies through backwards logic and projecting their personal guilt on other whites.
"White privilege" is literally just today's politically correct way of saying "White Man's Burden." They are conceptually the same, and if I had to find a difference it's that the burden emphasized the uplifting of blacks up to white standards and privilege is all about depowering whites to the level of minorities.

>Grandparents got me a matching one.

I forgot the psicodelic 2.8W DIY-bazzoka-kryspo mono sound system.
Finals are over, time to get cozy and enjoy the holidays. rate if you want, i might take it into consideration.
holy shit, call the jelly school. this faggot's been skipping class.
Poorfag currently saving up for a desktop so this is what I'm working with so far. Any advice to make it better/look less depressing?
Hello, everyone hope you are having an excellent night.
I have a question for those interested in responding. I am looking to tried in my ageing 108op monitors for a single a good 1440p monitor. I'm pretty sure I want either a BenQ BL2710PT or a Yamakasi Catleap Q270. the cats=leap is about 150 cheaper.
if this is just for gaming then switch cpu to an i5. You'll save a shit-ton of money and there is literally no reason for a i7 just for gaming.
Also for an HDD I'd suggest getting WD Blue. Not Seagate.
SSD would be better off as a Samsung 840 Pro.
Why that one? Over the mugen?
I elected to get the I7 because I pay my way through college by mixing and mastering monter cat tracks. So the extra power would help out. I'll look into the HDD and SSD.
Gotcha, the i7 will probably be a better choice for you then.
Hard-drives will be a little bit more but you're paying for stability.
Barracuda might actually be good but /g/ hivemind doesn't like seagate. I'd suggest doing some digging on your own though and deciding for yourself.
SSD on the other hand you want to get Samsung Pro or, if you need to save money (being in college), this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239045&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
where is the best place to learn about setting up a a battlestation, including monitors, computer, and audio?
Cool, I'll look into the samsung. What's the difference between 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm? The WD is a little bit more expensive, but if it's the better HDD I wouldn't mind dropping a little more dosh on it.
eh, tomshardware.com is a pretty good resource for general monitor/battlestaton threads. Overclock.net also.
Audio is an entirely different beast though.
head-fi for headphones,
fucked if i know for speakers.
watch out for cnet though; some of the shittiest audio experts i've ever seen there.
more reliable and the disk speed just means that it preforms better.
Mainly you're paying for a lower failure rate.
I'm assuming life will be shit if you lose monstercat work to a hdd failure.
I'm looking to invest in a great setup, including speakers, amp, headphones, monitors (3), keyboard, mouse, and a decent rig even though I don't game (occasionally a strategy game), I only program and fuck around with computers (in fact, I could just upgrade the box i have now).
about to pull the trigger on this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-Pixel-YAMAKASI-CATLEAP-Q270-LED-MULTI-27-2560X1440-Monitor-From-U-S-/121496426885?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item1c49c05985
anyone think its a bad idea ?
/g/ is actually a pretty good place find out about all that, although you do have to wade through a whole heap of crap to get the decent info. There's specific threads on headphones, mice, keyboards, and rigs. Apart from that youtube is pretty good as well.
But having a good camera can be useful in other situations too.
Someone else asked the same thing a few months back. Here ya go.
I won it off a 500 yen drawing box prize in the back streets of Akiba.
Micro 4/3 are really nice, I use an EPL-1.
I started with the stock lens on mine and switch to a EA-1 adapter with a SL55300.
I want to get some more, but sony has so few lenses, If I had known that when I started I would of bought a dt7100 or something.
dt7100? Do you mean the D7100? Well, I guess with a mirrorless camera you will always be somewhat limited in your choice of lenses. Adapters often mean that features like auto-focus don't work and overall it's probably not worth it (large lenses also destroy the smaller form factor of micro 4/3 cameras).
Yea, I bought the camera because it was small, but found out I didn't really care about the size later.
Also the adapter for the sony lenses still allow the auto-focus to work which is nice. But I rarely every use the feature anymore.
Nothing really changes because changes cost money but oh well, it works.
Fw900 idiots know fuck all about CRT's
They are rich gamerfags who just throw cash at their screens hoping they can have one.
They cannot repair them.
They cannot adjust the colour.
They know nothing about CRT care.
They burn them in in days.
Ive never seen a broken Fw900 sell for more than a tenner.
Its a name like model m
Because of this no one wants the w900 and I got mine for £10.50 xD
What is that CRT monitor?
I'd be quite happy to have an FW900 or W900, provided they were in good shape. Really, I'd be happy to have any 19"+ Trinitron in good shape, but I haven't even seen a small one in years.
19" diamondtrons appear on ebay every other day
My "22 diamondtron was free coz some bloke just wanted it go to a good home.
I also got about 6 19" ones off of him for free.
Keep looking anon and you'll find em.
Im always on the battlestations threads so if you have troubles fixing one just ask
the fw900 is great if you can get them at a decent price. they're hyped up monitors but they're good monitors.
I can't do eBay for a CRT monitor. It's a huge gamble (dozens of problems they can have) and I can't afford to lose the high shipping costs. Locally, I started looking a couple years too late to have a chance at finding anything local. I passed up some 17" Trinitrons hoping for something larger and then even those disappeared years ago.
The best monitor ive used is not the FW900
The Diamondplus 230SB is the best ive used
I got the thing to 2560x1920 but I know an anon got his up too 1920@113Hz
It was a NEC monitor and it sounds mindblowing!
Starting the moving process this/next week. I will probably knock it back to one screen and maybe even my old mouse/keyboard so I can start packing the rest. Sort of looking forward to the change.
trying to decide what lighting i like more, will post other pic
a friend always gives me shit for my second monitor not being the same size as my main monitor (16:9) but I REALLY like the second one being 4:3, I actually plan on getting a third one, or one of them fancy moving ones so i can make it vertical
either way, i like your setup
Is this actually seriously possible? That's like a 220 KHz horizontal scan rate on a monitor specced for 140 KHz maximum. I thought all modern CRT monitors would just give you an "out of range" message when exceeding the maximum scan rate.
Are you sure your graphics driver isn't just lying and the monitor isn't just running at a lower refresh rate?
I tried maxing out my monitor just to see what it could do, I was expecting maybe 2560x1920 @ ~75hz, but I was surprisingly able to bring it up to the 113 mark. I was skeptical at first so I used testufo and a couple fps tests and it sure looks and feels like 113hz.
In order for your monitor too be running at such a speed your RAMDC must be running @ 830.25 MHz
HOW THE FUCK DID YOU MANAGE THAT!?
This truly baffles me. It's just incredible.
Can you also push extremely high refresh rates at lower resolutions? Even 140 Khz allows for pretty high refresh rates at low resolutions, but I think most monitors were officially "capped" at 160Hz or so regardless of the horizontal scan rate.
I can run 1600x1200 @ 130hz, and 800x600 @ 160hz, 160hz is the max I can go at any resolution.
I have no idea how, but it does
Strange. If anything, I would expect you to be able to push >160Hz refresh rates at low resolutions before being able to push 2560x1920@113Hz. Technically, the monitor and GPU should be able to handle nearly 300Hz at 640x480, but like I said before they have that cap at 160. It's just weird that you don't hit a cap on the horizontal scan rate, or the GPU.
It is really strange and I cant explain how it works, but it does. Whats even more strange though is my hardware. I only have a 750ti and an x4 Athlon 750k. I'll look into it some time tomorrow because I need sleep.
i dont even know where to begin.
ill just be gentle and let it slip.
care to sauce me on wallpaper and keyboard?
btw, your bs is somewhat disorganized and has some questionable things in it, but it has a comfy felling about it. prob the light on the white kboard
