First time posting my guts. Old thread was nearing limit anyhow.
How did I do /g/?
Also that's the audio not the fan connector.
Lol I booted it and everything without a power cable on it, was wondering why it didn't detect the HD then remembered I forgot to hook it up.
Pic of the back side you can see the power cable after I ran it, front side you can't see it yet.
Finished testing how the shroud effects the PSU temps
Under max load with minimal case airflow, PSU capped at 67.
Is that any good?
You can buy motherboards like these that are smaller, and usually a little cheaper. They have one PCI and are great for small, efficient builds. You clearly did not research enough before building that thing.
Why would I wanna have something that small?
Why would I want to limit future upgrade abilities?
I did reseach, I bought a case that could accept 14 inch GPUs and a 550w power supply because I anticipated possibly needing a GPU.
The case is a cooler master N200, it's plenty small enough and still able to accept full sized cards without difficulty.
Stop acting like a know-it-all who thinks he knows what's best for everybody else you stupid faggot.
Not bad, but the colour scheme is inconsistent - blue, red _and_ yellow?
This cable management is really well done, would look better with black zipties though.
I have to ask though, why a mATX tower if it only has two DIMMs and one SSD, and doesn't have any expansion cards or HDDs? This seems like a job for mITX, or at least a more compact mATX case like a SG09.
That WD Blue kills me every time, anon. ;_;
>would look better with black zipties though.
All out of black, I only put the white zip ties on out of sight though, you can't see any of them from the open side of the case.
>I don't play games, this isn't a gaming computer.
>I bought a case that could accept 14 inch GPUs
>Stop acting like a know-it-all who thinks he knows what's best for everybody else you stupid faggot.
Sounds like even you don't know what you want, lmao
Forgot to add that I play on using this as a HTPC, so big TB HDs will come later, and I didn't want to limit myself when it comes to processing power and cut off the extra slots.
My brother likes to play games so I got this as he may want to purchase a card for it.
I don't play games so I never bought the card, it's on him.
Once again, please stop being a know-it-all faggot.
you know mitx doesn't preclude long gpus, 550W psus etc, right?
no need to get butthurt cos you made a shitty decision of form factor for your use case and got called out on it
So far every assumption you've made has been wrong.
I already said I'm gonna use it as a HTPC, load it up with HDDs, and my brother may want to game on it, you are extremely asspained.
Sounds like I didn't fucking want a god damn tiny box computer, holy shit are you fucked in the head?
>why do people not like what I like
>who do people not take my opinion as fact
>falling for the most obvious bait
>getting this butthurt this easily
Is this your first day on 4chan or something?
>my computer is 6 inches too big in one dimension
>THROW IT AWAY, START OVER AGAIN
I wasn't throwing a tantrum, I didn't state what my plans were, he assumed what my plans were without knowing a damn thing, then he posts derogatory images and comments.
Where did the first name calling happen?
Sadly there's not enough room with this case, putting on the back panel was already a struggle.
>when you called a guy a know-it-all and a stupid faggot when he was trying to offer you some honest advice.
How about we show this little quote right here, a post before mine.
>You clearly did not research enough before building that thing.
This is totally not insulting or derogatory in any way.
This isn't helpful in any way what so ever, it's just some guy being a stupid cunt.
The white cabling looks sick.
"You clearly did not research enough before building that thing", isn't name-calling or even insulting, you just took it too personally dude.
Delivered this to the customer today. Thing ran solid throughout the entire burn in.
>"You clearly did not research enough before building that thing", isn't name-calling or even insulting, you just took it too personally dude.
How is that not insulting?
It's directly attacking me and telling me I made poor decisions when he doesn't even know the intended purpose of my machine, which is HTPC with possible gaming.
What do you have a hard time understanding here??
>Stop acting like a know-it-all who thinks he knows what's best for everybody else you stupid faggot
is an appropriate response to
>You clearly did not research enough before building that thing
He literally had no idea what the intended purpose of my machine was, then went on to tell me I made improper decisions, how is that not insulting?
And since when does somebody get so butthurt over it, is this your first time on 4chan or what?
Can't handle being called a faggot?
>how is that not insulting?
A little.. I guess? You're still immature for reacting like a 12-year-old
>Can't handle being called a faggot?
I'm not even the guy you called a faggot, kek
Can't handle criticism?
What criticism, there was nothing to criticize, that's the entire point of all my posts.
He thinks he knew what I wanted, he thinks he knows what my computer is for and what components would be best for me, he is incorrect.
Every suggestion he made, I shot down with a logical reason and argument, I don't understand where the confusion is here.
do we have to start a new guts thread now cos of this one guy getting mad as shit?
matx v mitx doesn't matter people, move on
guy who you called faggot here, even if you had planned on gaming, m-itx can support 1GPU, and plenty of m-itx cases can house full size gpu. And you did state what you weren't doing with it.
"No GPU because I don't play games, this isn't a gaming computer"
You backtracked like fuck on the GPU thing. Literally "this isn't a gaming computer", then later you say "oh well actually it will be used for gaming".
You misrepresent your intentions and then are surprised when you're taken on your word? Piss off mate.
I don't play games, but my brother does, and he may want to game on it, so I left the option of adding GPU(s!!!), if he pleases.
It's intended to be used in my home theater, hence the empty HD slots which will be filled when needed.
I don't see an advantage to using a smaller case, why have 2 dimms when you can have 4, why have 1 pcie when you can have 2, why have to deal with a cramped case when you can have tons of space, why would you limit yourself in all these aspects?? for the simple reason of having a smaller case? are you kidding me?
It's not even a mid size or full size tower, it's a fucking mini, holy hell dude.
Read my fucking post, the only advantage of getting a smaller case is just that, a smaller case.
How the fuck does that help me at all?
It's going to be behind a curtain in a home theater, who fucking cases if I got a MINI instead of a micro, I have massive upgrade ability as is.
If you had laid everything out in detail from the start you wouldn't have needed to get as angry as you did.
Why would I make a massive post explaining the purpose of my computer?
I didn't anticipate some random guy to attack me and question the purpose of it.
Maybe in the future I'll be sure to lay out 500 letter posts about the intention of everything I do before posting to avoid this.
