New thread because the old cancer died.
>INB4 SPEAKERS ABOVE HEAD WOT R U DOIN
They're ~50" away from my ears, it makes almost no audible difference to have them at ear level.
I asked you about the speakers before, and you're right. It doesn't make a difference.
Mostly because they're Klispch home theater speakers with bigass wave guides that spread that shitty tweeter sound every which way.
For budget Klipsch speakers, they're the best I've heard sub $700 for a bookshelf pair. I can't complain. But I'm glad someone is able to understand that the tweeters are flared.
Fuck, I just posted in the other thread
>error : password incorrect
welp, can't delete it, might as well re save it
I dunno, its just not to my taste, I like things clean and unclutered. And you have a ton of books/posters and stuff.
I dunno man, there are a lot of good speakers for under $700 that are more neutral that the klipsch. (Micca MB42x, Vanatoos, Warfledoule, Kef, Pioneer bs22...etc) But they're still gud.
10/10 as always
Yes. Thats a soundbar.
I could buy some studio monitors for less than 160$ but since theres so much choices I'd rather not take a risk unless you anons help me chose some studio monitors. Or headphones.
did you make that desk yourself? if so, it looks sweet.
like the lamp.
like the color of the desk. not a fan of the desk as a whole but that's just my pref.
fair. most of those are artist prints i got as gifts so i like to hang them. i wish i had more wall space so i could space them out more because i feel like it clutters the walls a lot. thanks for the input though!
not a fan of the layout of the monitors/tv. cool funkoo though, who is it supposed to be? also don't like the blue wall color but you really can't change that.
it helps to rate if you want to rate
not a fan of the corner desk. rest is awesome though.
>plug card reader into usb 3 port on back of mobo
>popup: "this device can perform faster if you plug it into a HIGH SPEED USB 3.0 port!"
no speakers? how do you manage?
>literal fart canon
thanks to you, I now know that I have a friend who browses these threads
love the wood, love the speakers
I have the same shelf lights and the cable broke just yesterday :(
>tfw you rate everyone in the thread and chrome crashes
I'll be posting r8s after this post
Here is my battlestation as of this morning.. I have a new monitor that I just picked up today though
It is a Samsung Smart TV so I can connect my phone screen to it... watch netflix and play a bunch of apps
Should I get rid of my other monitor /g/? What type of setup should I do?
They're fantastic id highly recommend them, certainly one of the better and slightly cheaper option.
It is me. I moved house.
I use it when im getting ready, its full length you just cant see the rest of it.
I recently moved in, can confirm that i smash my head at least once a day.
Im getting some audioengine A5+ an S8 soon. But the HD800's are great and do fine for now.
Sorry to hear about your cable. When I was installing mine, I went to split the two a bit and one of them had the insulation rip off the conductors. I just used some electrical tape to fix it.
Welp, didn't go to Walmart today, had some other shit I needed to get done.
Probably gonna go to Michael's instead tomorrow and see if they have any wood frames.
>satan confirmed for poorfag
nah, I don't have a job. Everything I have was either a handmedown or something I justified getting for school, aka parents money. Hell I wouldn't even have a desktop if I didn't originally go to college for sound engineering.
Feels more comfortable and ergonomic for me to have it facing to the left like that. It's really not that hard to reach over, feels natural if anything. That extra space in the front allows me to put books and my plates when I eat in front of it. Pretty convenient.
Posted earlier but left before I saw any rating. Kinda bland but I like it
I couldn't tell you, I don't do it anymore. I changed my major because sound engineering is a joke and there's literally no reason to go to college for it. Basically if you've done it through high school like I did, you don't need a college degree to get a job, and if you do, then you're going to spend more time paying your dues as an intern etc before you actually end up as an engineer anywhere. I'm much happier with the degree course I'm on now because I know I'm actually going to make a sustainable living off of it.
are you the same faggot that kept asking for that one person's wallpapers?
thanks, guess ill avoid audio engineering.
Well I posted mine already and people called it shit, but I'm happy with what i have mostly.
go ahead post yours and ill give you a detailed description why its good and ill even rate it a 10/10.
>thanks to you, I now know that I have a friend who browses these threads
Some friends and I were dicking around on youtube, and a say to one of them "hey bro lets watch some mysterious gf X" and he gives me the universal look of 'why the fuck do you know what that is'. I also know about most all of the anime he watches, which leads me to believe that he learned about it from your older battlestation pic. it's a long shot, but it seems plausible.
nigger are you me?
Just reinstalled my ps3 and took this pic.
New monitor config
I don't game that intensely, or blast music that loud so it does what I need it to do. How do you like yours?
I've cleaned up a bit. I'll take a new picture soon enough.
I spoke with one of my coworkers today and he recommended checking out goodwill for picture frames. Said that their artwork around the entire stores are all awful, but the frames can be of real quality and go for 1/5th the price if you were to buy the frame itself new.
I'll go check some out on my day off, but it might be difficult to find a frame of that size.
What could I do to improve what I've got? New fig + posters + mic + case is being shipped.
>speakers above head
it's messy but it's nice
/g/ wont give you much worthwhile advice. take caution
how's the snow? haven't gotten any here this year.
that looks comfy as fuck dude. A single monitor looks better than two different monitors imo. If you don't find yourself using both monitors then maybe consider replacing it. That said how's the ppi + resolution on that tv? It could be a deciding factor on whether or not you replace the older monitor. qt wallpaper.
>try to grab a bluray from under speaker
>speaker slips from hand and chips on the desk
A station doesn't need to be expensive to look great. Money helps but you don't need to drop $1000 on a desk and $1200 on a monitor and $200 on a mouse + mousepad like some people do.
Thats a neat wallpaper you have.
Is that a mini Rider on the monitor stand? Best girl right there.
you have a Holo fig so I cant be too harsh.. Don't really like the case + keyboard but that's just different taste in peripherals and probably games too.
How's that case? I just ordered it last night but in black
nah m8 just drop out you'd only lose tuition + fees you've payed.
necfag reporting in! oh, do you remember that time months ago when you said you'd take a new picture? cuz i do
sorry m8 I thought I had typed it out. I don't know a whole lot about the audio setup you have going on there, what type of music do you produce?
I want to touch your keyboard.
the trackball is really nice, took a week or so to get used to it but it's comfy for sure. picked it up for $10 on craigslist
earplugs are for school + work
this clock sadly doesn't have a 24hr mode
oh ok sorry must have been someone else then
You'd be feelin them bloo switches yo.
I produce Folk, Alternative rock, Metal, and Lo-fi. My experience is growing though. I've recorded for a fair amount of local folks, and do my own personal shit daily. My stuff is more noise rock/psychedelic rock oriented, with some folk mixed in.
>How's that case? I just ordered it last night but in black
I like it for the stylish looks, the stock fans are not really good and some people swap them out. I haven't bothered with it though. Keep in mind it cannot fit matx boards that have more than 4 PCI slots though. My advice with it is that if you're going to use a modular PSU, then for the love of whatever you hold dear, plug the cables you're gonna use on it BEFORE you install it, otherwise you're gonna know the true meaning of hell at the tip of your fingers.
ehh I don't like blues.. I'm running browns with 2 dampeners under each key right now. Oh so most of the things I don't listen too, haha.
Superb cooling isn't a big deal to me, as long as it's quiet, are the stock fans good when it comes to sound? Thanks for the tips
I'm doing the same shit while attending college. Do you work? I'm trying to squeeze as much time into the craft before I have to go on the job hunt. All these musicians I see somehow find a way to invest so much time into it. Where the fuck does the money come from before they gain notoriety?
LOL, to each his own.
I work 40 hours a week, and only have 2 full days to give to music. I'm finally starting school in the fall, so my music time will be even more restricted after that...
I don't get it either man. I'm poor, and do my best to deal with it. They say it isn't about equipment anyhoo. Sometimes I feel more creative on a shitty instrument than on an intimidating, pretty one.
Nice monitors btw ;D
Yeah I guess all we can do is work our asses off huh? And thanks, they've done me well.
I feel the same way. A lot of my friends with more money spend buy a fuckload of equipment like its nothing. I think a good measure of your skill is what you can do with a little. That's why I try to just use the drum machine, synth and records to see what happens.
Your setup gives me a sense of nostalgia for a time I've never experienced. Keep that shit going as long as you can. That 90s vibe is cool and will probably help give your music its one unique style
8.5/10 for a completely biased sense of atmosphere
I remember you!
I like you and your personality and your computer case ^.^
i just plug it into the headphone jack of a Scarlett 18i20 rack haha. All those preamp threads just go over my head. We just have different purposes I guess.
You should look at the Fostex Paradox mod if you're ever looking to upgrade past IEMs
You're sweet! I plan to continue forever man. Thank you so much for the encouragement.
The air of minimalism in your room is, I'm sure, reflected in your music. I love it. You keep it up too mate. Not to mention the funny framed quote on the wall.. 9/10!
I'm >>46612180 and I recently tried using two monitors. I had this tiny 15" lcd one next to my main and even so my eyesight got so fucking tired that I had to ditch it. It's useful and all but I prefer not going blind before I hit my 30s. Dunno how you guys manage.
Use a normal sized monitor? It shouldn't make a difference to your eyesight if you have two or more of the same monitor.
I just came to this thread to laugh at OP and other people that honestly believe that their ultra hipster audiophle grade speakers can somehow violate the laws of physics.
Its like talking about colors to a blind guy.
A long time ago I gave you heaps of suggestions. It was better when you were following my suggestions, ease up on the posters man, frames may look nicer, but not when there's 10 of them crammed together.
That Pepsi was hardly rewarding.
Made it, wooden countertop + feet.
1k e, I have a job.
Large one is a Ducky Shine 3 with MX Blues and PBT sideprinted keycaps. Small one is Ducky Mini with MX Reds.
hey anon. i realized that i actually have regressed in your suggestions, so i'm going to do my best to declutter the space.
i want to keep them all hanging, but try to configure them in one of the following arrangements. (sorry i did this in paint, the scaling isn't up but i think you can realize what the gist of it is)
what do you think?
this is me btw incase others want to chime in
First time poster.
Please don't give me shit for my hackintosh
Here's something new for the ones complaining about repeat posters.
Just got Gigabyte R9 280X from ebay for $179 (including shipping).
Main one is a Yamakasi DS270. A Korean monitor with an LG AH-IPS -panel. The other one is BenQ XL2420T, a 144 Hz shitty gaymen TN. It's quick and nice for fast paced games but the image quality is crap. And if you meant my studio monitors, those are Genelec M040s.
Fuji X-T1, Samyang 12mm f/2.0, tripod.
ISO 200, F8, 25 second exposure
Pic related, taken with an OPO. The DNG files and custom exposure settings are fun.
I prefer the large one for everything else except gaming. I switch to that small 60% one when I play. Form factor and light linear switches are nice.
>12mm focal length
>peeping on neighbors
>I prefer the large one for everything else except gaming. I switch to that small 60% one when I play. Form factor and light linear switches are nice.
that actually makes sense. good idea. i'll do that too when i get rich.
With my computer down on the floor cause I don't have a big enough desk. I need some pedestal for it or something but I can't find anything I like.
Or a second desk. That's really what I need in all actuality.
Even if you disregard the fact that it DOES make audible difference to have sound waves traveling over your head ... it just looks retarded lol. There is absolutely no aesthetic or theme and it really just makes it look like you live in a closet
>Not having a TV on your desk
When I was a teen I used an 8' long coffee table as a computer desk. The real estate was glorious, and I thought it would be nice, but sitting like that for extended periods of time with no backrest just made my back hurt.
Klipsch Heresy's. Phenomenal highs but suffer from nobass, so I've got the Dayton Sub-1200 to go with them
shopping for a new desk soon. this was a cheap one I got on clearance at Staples a couple of years ago. Looks alright at first glance, but it's chipping away and falling apart already. my little bro needs a desk for his new apt so I'll prolly give him this when I get a new one.
don't have an Ikea nearby...anyone have any good ideas in the 200ish dollar range?
