Amazing graphical design. Genius invention of live tiles in the start menu. Updated icons to match the modern feel and look of the glorious Windows operating system. Innovative "Power Shell" command line that blows away anything Linux has to offer. I'm sorry to say this, but 2015 is the year of the Windows desktop. It's over, Linux. It's over.
>ADVERTISING IN YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM
Something Linux has had for years now!
Suck it winfags!
>still get ads
So your argument is that as long as the OS is free, you are happy to have ads? Your initial post only mentioned the fact that ads existed, now it is something else after Ubuntu was pointed out.
Deal with it, dipshito, Windows is king.
>Ads in tiles
>Still looks like 7
>People will still buy it
>those fucking tiles
>no glorious Aero transparency
I'll stick with 7, thanks.
Did you know you can disable the ads in Windows as well? No, because you don't seem to care about appearing ignorant when you puke all over /g/.
Enjoy your ``free'' OS, made by hackers for hackers.
>what the fuck is all this transparency? It looks like shit. I don't want this crap wasting resources.
>where the fuck is the transparency? it looks like shit without transparency.
stay classy /g/
Are you a retarded 12yo? Why are you on /g/? Both of those meme arrowed points can be accomplished.
If you were such a hardcore 1337 hacker, you would know, and if you're mom won't let you be hardcore, then you should be able to at least google something before you diarrhea it all over a board full of people who _are_ capable.
You haven't gotten out of the initial hole your stupidity dug for you
>hurr durr open source is the future
>how come bumblebee deleted my /usr folder
Yo double dog, I heard you like stupid, so I pointed out your dumb while you continue to be an idiot.
So why do they hire 12 year old to do their icons?
It sandboxes programs that doesn't have the same elevated privileges as Windows shell.
Thus portable programs and even regularly installed programs have trouble with it.
D&D between folders is a given, but it needs to work with all programs.
I had Win8, 8.1 and then 10 Preview, and all of them have the same problem.
Unless UAC if raped and turned off through regedit, you can't get Drag&Drop to work.
But then half the OS fucks up.
Win10 even fucks up the start menu since it's part of ModernUI or whatever they call it now. so not only "apps" but the fucking start menu is fucked as well.
I ran the developer preview in vmware for a while, and it wasn't bad. Friend of mine said it wied out his bluetooth drivers and he could not reinstall them. He had to wind back to windows 7. They'll probably have that crap worked out by now.
From my point of view, it looks like it runs pretty lean and it's solid. But I just don't trust microsoft any more. Too many bugs in the past that you can't fix yourself and have to wait for patches. Too many viruses and malware. They also need to make it more configurable. They also need to get the machine manufacturers to stop 'adding value' by installing shitty media players and other satanism that windows already does.
Apart from that, not bad. If I bought it on a new machines, I would still replace with my favourite linux distro.... Because I can.
Download, portable Foobar on a computer, drag it to C:\Windows\ to your Win8 folder (Just to show that that folder is oh no, dangerous).
Try to open it.
Open as administrator, even though you already are logged in as such because it doesn't start otherwise.
Drag a song to playlist.
UAC fucks up Win8 and newer.
Having to disable UAC to get drag and drop is not a solution to get it working, it's only avoiding the problem.
Disable UAC through the control panel, sure, we all do that.
But to get win8+ working without it treating us like idiots, you need to inactivate it through regedit.
Thus eliminating a large chunk of the OS just because M$ wants to for no reason.
>Amazing graphical design
it looks shit
>Genius invention of live tiles in the start menu
what is so genius about it?
>Updated icons to match the modern feel and look of the glorious Windows operating system
kek still nowhere compared to numix
>Innovative "Power Shell" command line that blows away anything Linux has to offer
not innovative, its just a rip-off, also where are the fuck tons commandline utilities
>It's over, Linux. It's over.
kek ms server is so shitty that even ms uses it on their servers
stay pleb /v/
>Not using portable Foobar that was upacked on a nother computer then dragged to Win8+ computer, even though that was the point here.
Yes... good goy.
Try again, and do it right next time.
I understand, but it's a situation a lot of people aren't going to run into. And you're backtracking hard, at first you said D&D doesn't work in win8+ when it clearly does, now you're saying it doesn't work under a specific situation, which you might be right about because I don't have access to a computer with win7 atm so I can't test it.
I want flat minimalism to go.
The situation comes and goes and when it shows up it's always annoying.
Since I use Photoshop DAILY, I don't want to keep having to manually find the file and open it in the program when I have the folder already open in Windows.
The fact that they even implemented such a retarded hinder is enough that heads should fly in the M$ office.
Everytime I reinstall one of my computes or want to drag along my foobar to a computer where I want my layout and settings with a single double-click on foobar.exe
I use photoshop daily as well and I have never run into D&D not working, nothing comes and goes.
You can just copy the config folder. If you actually move around enough for this to matter then unpack foobar on a win7 and win8 computer and bring both. Or you could do what any sane person would do and put your music on a phone or buy a laptop.
>Going round a problem that shouldn't exist.
I carry a 16GB USB stick, with music and Foobar since it works in my car stereo and on every WindowsXP-Win7 in the world.
That is until some retard have a Windows 8+ computer.
