This is seriously shaping up to be better than Windows 7 and Windows XP combined.
You'll finally get to leave your nerdy Linux distros and use a REAL OS.
Are you hype, /g/?
What do you mean shaping up? so far the UI is getting less and less retarded but that's because unbelievably it got that retarded to begin with. That's about the only outstanding achievement Microsoft has accomplished ever since it fugged up with Windows 8. And even that's against their own wishes. Public hated Metro and they didn't have much of a choice to bring back the start screen. Security I'm sure is a bit better but goddamn, you would think they learned a little bit from their past security failures and even then you know it's going to be full of zero days until the day they drop support.
Hold the fuck up
>tfw I bought into the kinect hype when I was in high school
You should have seen how heart broken I was when I found out it was a piece of shit
Fuck microsoft seriously. They spent $2 bil on minecraft and are probably going to screw it up someway.
Heh, that's funny because my copy of Windows 10 looks absolutely nothing like that.
Go home, Linux fanboy.
I had been getting this notification ever since I installed the new win. It won't tell me which file/software is infected/harmful/malicious, just that I need to run a scan.
It's pretty retarded.
The left list of Places and Most used is completely unnecessary and only takes up space. A win 8 solution when you had to swipe up to get to all apps was much better. Also horizontal scrolling start screen was much more transparent, since most tablets are in 16:9 and you hold them in land scape mode.
A horrible hamburger menu instead of charms bar. No thanks.
Remember to enable the Xaml start menu in the newest build. It's less cancerous than what's in there. http://www.winbeta.org/news/how-bring-back-old-resizable-start-menu-running-windows-10-build-9926
What's wrong with them? They look like they would scale very well. Exactly how large are the icon graphics assuming those aren't their default size?
They're just oversized versions of old icons. Maybe you'd have them that large on a tablet to tap it with your sausages, but not many would leave their icons to take up so much real estate. If you put more detail into them when you scale them down, they're much more likely to look like an indistinguishable mess.
Also fuck gradients, those solid colors look much nicer. Gradients are right up there with lens flares and drop shadows in adding "detail" to graphics.
>cortana listening 24/7 so she can entertain smartphonefags for a whole 5 minutes before they forget about her (as she keeps listening to everything)
>le epin somodern flat babby mode icons and colors
>Startup time a whole 0.1 seconds faster on a half hybernated boot
>even more fucking smartphone reject apps
>"We brought back the start menu because you cried so much, even though we didn't improve on it, in fact we made it worse, aren't we nice?"
>"Oh and if you keep crying we'll bring back Aero too, even though we had literally no reason to take it out!"
No, just no.
I tested windows 10. It was pretty good. I liked it. In fact, I prefer it as an experience over OSX. Whether it will be as stable over the long haul - I've got no idea.
Will I use it? No. I'll stick with Linux because I like full control of everything. But micro$oft look like they're getting their shit together.
>Using an os with a built in keyloggers and other spyware, which were built in as a feature
Anons, why would you...?
The Numix icon set is minimal but it's actually designed infinitely better than the Windows 10 icon set.
