>he wasn't in the sticky
>he is too stupid to google
Anyone else remember the "rumor" that was going around /g/ and people told everyone laughing at this shit that it was fake and gay, and that not even Apple could be that stupid and to stop posting them threads?
Where are you faggots now? Come out, I want to laugh at you.
>the new MacBook features a next-generation USB-C port, which handles charging and typical USB connectivity. (It's so thin a standard USB port couldn't fit!)
Are these people retarded? They fit in a headphone jack, how could they not have fit in a USB type A?
I... I'm angered. Actually angered.
I will never let another apple product in my household if this happens. I made an exception for the ipod classic but god damn this is stupid.

Who would get the macbook?
>not only does it add inconvenience and cost to to owning a Macbook, but hauling this around with you will actually add much more thickness and weight to your bag/laptop than would have been just keeping the fucking ports on the god damn device itself
THE WHOLE POINT OF REMOVING THE PORTS IS MOOT WHEN YOU BUY THIS THING, IT IS LITERALLY JUST ADDED EFFORT AND BULK, ALL FOR APPLE TO MAKE MORE MONEY.
Apple cunts will defend this.
>but i dont always need to plug in other devices, so I won't need to bring it every time i go somewhere!
>tries to plug in smart phone/flash drive while charging the laptop
>one port it has is filled as a result
This is a very bad idea, and a huge risk for Apple. But ultimately, it's very good for the industry. Knowing the Apple fanboys, it will sell very well, which means that USB-C will gain traction much faster.
Just like not supporting flash on iOS pushed HTML5 forward.
Or maybe it will end up like Thunderbolt...
>yfw even with that adapter, it only adds ONE USB port
>the port you are plugging that adapter into means that one is already unusable
>STILL ONLY ONE USB PORT
So not only do you need that $80 bulky adapter, but you need to also haul around another USB hub. So you have to have 2 fat bricks with wires attached. Really, ultra portability!
scratch that, just realized it has a type-c port as well. That doesn't change the fact that you still have one standard type A port and will need a hub for more than one device or at least another adapter cable for A to C just to plug in a second device.
but why not 1920x1200 or 2560x1600
why some retarded custom panel that probably makes the device more expensive to manufacture?
and 16:9 is better for everything you'd use a computer for except editing text
/g/ is always incredibly fucking terrible at predicting the future, pic related.
Also editing text and BROWSING are the only fucking things you'd do on this underpowered piece of shit.
Though I have doubts it even being able to browser properly.
I'm pretty sure that all of apple's laptop panels are custom, considering that no other manufacturer makes 16:10 laptop panels anymore.
>and 16:9 is better for everything you'd use a computer for except editing text
Guys, guys, guys
Have you not learned already? This is marketing
Apple pushes shooped pics with something ridiculous as this, people go apeshit, they say "because we are so KEWL we will listen to our customers and add everything they need" and they actually release real deal
I think the idea is that increasingly fewer people have need for ports. Everything they would usually connect is now cloud, bluetooth or wifi. These are just Facebook machines.
They won't do this to the Macbook Pro (I hope).
You still get more USB ports in total with the 2005 Dell, but it's even worse. Not only does it still just have more, but on the Mac, you have to use 3 of the ones you have to plug in the ethernet, optical, and card reader.
Part of me does want one, but then i remember i plug my Macbook Air into my external monitor (thunderbolt-dvi adaptor), an external keyboard and mouse (usb), and i have my music on a microSD card with a nifty knockoff adaptor.
I think i'd rather get an iPad and get a keyboard for that.
>They won't do this to the Macbook Pro (I hope).
They updated the 13" rMBP line too. I believe they upgraded the specs and added the new trackpad.
This new laptop is called Macbook, so I think that they are making an attempt to create a division between it and the Pro category.
>plug in an external monitor
Just use retina display its good or buy adaptor!
>can't put in SD card from phone or camera
Why aren't you using iphone anyway?
>I-I have this blu-ray disk
Obsolete faggot optical media 0/10!
>Here's my flash drive. Oh wait.
You should get an adaptor. Or put everything you own on the CLOUD!
>Gonna hook up this here external drive via SATA-
Don't do that anyway, you need to go visit a store to do anything with the help of a genius!
>Can't plug in headphones to listen to music
Use adaptor only 100 dollars or stop listening to music just use itunes wireless headset from apple
LOL ENJOY YOUR OVERPRICED TABLET MACFAGGOTS
>hurr why is there nowhere to put floppy disks
This is what you sound like. Not even a Mac fan but I can see their point with this. I expect it's a few years premature and it will be a pain in the ass for a lot of people but this is the direction computers are going.
Holy shit, never have I seen such a shekel product come straight from the desert rats in Israel. You literally are throwing your money away if you buy this piece of shit. This truly will be the ultimate test. If Apple tards buy it they will literally buy anything with and Apple logo.
I know it's the direction computers are going. That doesn't mean it's not total shit. All they are doing is introducing incompatibilities to fatten up their profit margin. People eat this shit up because of excellent, cloud-fuelled marketing. Yes, it works. Yes, it's technically a brilliant strategy.
For the longest time the biggest thing going against Apple was how they overpriced their products. But if you got beyond the price, their laptops, tablets, and phones are pretty solid products.
This new Macbook is overpriced and it's shit. Jobs woulda never allowed this to happen.
>he doesn't put everything in the cloud™
>he uses corded peripherals
>hurr why is there nowhere to put floppy disks
That's what people said about the g3 imac, and they were right, because people still needed to use floppy disks when the g3 imac came out.
Guess what, if something is going to be obsolete in the future, but isn't obsolete now, then you make products that have that thing now, and plan to deprecate it in the future.
Apple does shit like this because they want to be seen as making "modern computers", and people tolerate the hassle because it's apple and they can do no wrong.
Anon, Apple has not had an ethernet port on their laptops for a couple years now. It's been done with USB and Thunderbolt adapters. Even some PC ultrabooks started doing it. It's sickening.
Remember netbooks and the pull-down tab ethernet ports? The would be fine for this shit, especially if it were sturdy aluminum. But not, just force the use of an adapter instead.
> wanting that port
This new MacBook uses a gimped version of the standard USB-C port. For example, it's not backwards compatible with Thunderbolt. Apple is probably waiting until it won't suck, like with Thunderbolt 2.
the worst thing is, people will buy and defend this shit. You can't even call that technology.
>MFW the apple sheep in this thread
Holy fuck, never have I seen such a fan base defend such a shekel rat move like this one. Apple faggots literally set the standards when it comes to fanboyism.
But this is a good thing, you fucking retard.
>mfw coming home and plugging my Macbook into an adapter that connects it to 3 1080p monitors, external keyboard, and mouse
Shit is going to be glorious.
nobody is on Apple's payroll
Apple actively sabotages publications that are overly critical of Apple (or at least did, back with Katie Cotton). This includes not being invited to keynotes.
Since Apple news generates a lot of clicks, most mainstream publications that don't have a clear agenda (like say, an Android blog) would rather stay on Apple's good side.
You're right, these go--guys don't know what they're missing by not buying the new MacBook in Gold for the low price of $1200! It has more than enough power for all your Facebook apps!
I dare for an apple fag to defend this. Please give me one good reason why they would do this other then the fact they are desert rats
God you're dumb.
Mfw this won't even be possible.
>CNET editor Dong Ngo explains the USB standard and the significance of the latest USB Type-C
>Dong N Go
Come on, guys. They put in a retina screen on this thing. They had to get the pixels from somewhere, taking them from the camera was the best approach.
well if you have 2 USB type C devices, not only do you need a second dongle, you need a USB C ---> standard USB adapter to use with the spare USB A port!
what about ethernet access on this macbook?
my theory is that 480p pictures and videos are smaller than higher resolution but big enough to see your face clearly. this makes it easier for background services to upload the continuous stream of apple video into the cloud where you will be monitored in case of an emergency.
>yfw no thunderbolt
correct in assuming i am not knowledgable about cpus. however, i have a 1.6hz netbook i bought for 200 bucks which can barely run firefox. surely something even weaker will have difficulty feeding video to 3 hd monitors?
MACFAGS ARE DEFENDING THIS EVERYWHERE HOLY SHIT THIS IS TOO GOOD
He already pointed that out. I was just saying the difference in price must be related to 4 times more storage and 2 times more RAM.
And the apple tax, ofc. The thing is the Surface is not really a laptop, it's a new concept, a tablet with laptop hardware in it.
Why do you guys think polariod filters are so popular in the megapixel age? nobody wants their picture taken in high quality. People will actually welcome this.
Macfags are used to not using their usb port. They live in the 21st century with bluetooth mice and fast reliable wifi.
Only having 1 port is not a problem. Having a tablet processor in a $1000+ laptop is.
what an unbelievably stupid assumption
>Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 by 2160 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors
>Built in display plus a single external display
As a longtime Mac sysadmin and Mac user, I'll be the first to say I don't really see a use case for this laptop _yet_. It's only real claim to fame is that it's a tiny laptop with a gorgeous screen - everything else is quite lackluster.
Like the first generation MacBook Air, which was overpriced and underpowered, this too will be largely irrelevant for 18 months until it receives a refresh, and Apple finds a solid place for it in the lineup.
>I'm just wondering why the fuck they didn't put it on all their new stuff
They did. They only made one new thing today, and it's the new MacBook laptop. All the rest of the laptops got internal refreshes, not redesigns. They're not going to reinvent the wheel for each product category.
This may come as a huge shock to you, but there are lots of companies with heavy Mac bases, and they need someone to manage them just like every other computer. Mac Admins are in more places than you think.
Meaning female community and all SJW male members plus gay members have no idea what apple is selling at high price. Its shit. But guess what these are majority of people and they will buy it because brands like apple that has a price tag and fashion points wet their vagina and dicks. The thing is apple know this fact and /g faggots fail to acknowledge this and keep shit posting again and again.
Its like windows for hardware.
>we knows its shit, you still bought it
>look. we fixed it. no, there is no trade in value
>look, we fixed it again (ad nausium)
If they did it right, they wouldnt have to continually fix the design
Google has 16,000 Macs. Facebook has 9600. Square, Yelp, Wired, New Relic, Lookout, Pandora, Spotify, Virgin America, Pinterest, Etsy, Pixar, Disney Animation, etc. are all startups/tech companies/companies with heavy mac bases.
I'm not saying they're entirely Mac based. I'm saying they have large numbers of Macs, and they need to be managed - just like Windows machines, and Linux machines.
>"What if instead of adding additional ports, we sold them as a separate ugly dongle?"
>"That's fucking brilliant, and we'll tell them it's because we wanted to achieve simplicity by having only one port"
>"Yeah, maybe even call it innovation"
HOLY SHIT THIS IS ACTUALLY REAL LIFE
Does anyone know if there's a 3.5gb laughing spanish meme man video of this?
Apple works exactly as fashion work. Name a thing that rich people use even if they don't. All the sub humans now buy that thing because they think it makes them closer to rich people. People like to be distinguised. They want to be called unique. This is chimp like genetic algorithm that still resides in most of humans. Mostly females and gay people. People like Richard Stallman have too futuristic genes that deny this algorithm and make open source software to compensate for the reclusion from major community of chimps.
Intel should sue their asses for calling their cars i3
Holy fucking shit how did I never notice this. Fucking gold
>every time you make a typo and must backspace, or want to change the volume using the top volume keys, you could potentially shut off your computer
>say stupid shit
>get called out on stupid shit
>he must be defending it! stop hurting my feelings!
You don't have to mindlessly worship technology to know shit about it.
once again >>>/v/ and don't come back this time
>he's defending macshit! stop triggering me!
Is American middle schooler reading comprehension really this awful?
And there's more where that came from, friend :^)
Still upset? It's okay, up to 75% of this board is just mindless shitposting anyway, you'll fit right in.
I don't think anyone has actually discussed technology here in three, maybe four years.
You actually do have a whole folder full of pepe, don't you?
>he does it for free
Neither am I, let's get back to shitposting.
>Hey anon let me plug in my iPhone™ to your MacBook! I want to sync some picture!!1!
>Can't Sarah, it's charging.
>Don't you have other ports or something?
Look her straight in the eye
It's you who is sad, Pepe is the like the iPhone® of memes, and you don't even have a folder! What a fucking pleb.
Guess what apple are trying to push with this one is cloud and NaS storage over wireless networks. It's decent if we're talking a school campus with high level networks but as an over all laptop device i'd say not handy at all.
Meh, i personally dislike gold things
They upgraded the specs by downgrading it
The only GPU option is Iris Pro, and the only CPU option is a i5 with clock speeds from 2.6 to 3.2 ghz, then the only upgradeable thing is the SSD from 128 gb to 512 gb
There's literally no other option
No, it's working perfectly fine.
Only a complete retard would set their power button to be instant-off.
More than likely not only would you be retarded, but also be only doing so you could argue some non-existent point about something you have no real reason to dislike.
Gold can be good when used right (it's all subjective), but this watch just looks like shit though, no craftsmanship whatsoever.
I fucking love deepin so far. Ive tried a lot of distros but so far, this is my favorite. beautiful and works for everything i need for webdev
R you fucking kidding me!?
I was waiting for the newest gen MBA (was gonna be my first apple product), and this is fucking it?! one port, cellphone processor, all in the name of getting 10 hour run time instead of 9hours and 30 minutes?! WHAT THE PROVERBIAL FUCK?!
it actually only gets 9 hour run time. and bear in mind, this is the 'factory uptime'. companies always lie about battery life.
in every area that the machine aimed for it fucking failed.
In theroy yes, but I dont own any macs so you will have to flash the drive or use something like Bootcamp to get it to work.
You might be able to try it from a USB on a mac and see if you like it.
Surface Pro is lying about battery life. Same size battery as MacBook. No way they are getting the same battery life.
It's also way too heavy to be used as a tablet so the tablet part is a gimmick.
>Consider the multi-core GeekBench score of 4,267. That’s several hundred less than the an ultrabook with an Intel Core i5-4200U, but that 4th-generation processor has a quoted Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 15 watts. The Core M-5Y70 has a quoted TDP of 4.5 watts. On paper that means the Core M manages almost equivalent performance on a third of the power. In reality TDP does not translate to actual power draw (it’s a guideline for laptop manufacturers, not a benchmark), but in any case it’s clear the Core M consumes far less juice.
