Someone asked for a new thread and I have no life. Here's my shit.
Early and right before bed! ^o^
Nice monitors and audio interface, what do you do? also everything else needs work, but it's fairly decent. 5.3/10
I go to Polytechnique Montréal in electrical engineering, play music, and play games.
I'm moving back to my mom's basement in july because my roomate is starting to write his master degree thesis and he wont have any classes in the city anymore and I can't pay rent alone.
The only advantage is that I will have more space for my /bst/ there.
Asus z97 pro wifi
Corsair vengeance pro 16gig
Asus strix gtx970
Corsair rm 750w
Sandusky ultra 2 240gig
Western digital black 1tb
Corsair k70 keyboard I think
And corsair m45 mouse
Also logitech z906 5.1
And finally ikea galant. I've got the ikea wire organiser thing too underneath the desk, works wonders
Why the fuk does my phone do that sometimes? Post the pic rotated.
Finally got around to selling my old monitors so I'll be ordering a Yeti and maybe a Novatouch (So tired of the Quickfire TK layout)
As for now nothing has changed apart from my wallpaper.
I had to change the power supply Cuz it was causing really bad coil whine when I would game. It's a corsair rm 750w now, the colour matches a little bitter and no more coil whine
Really want a third monitor, but I'd get a better computer first. Priorities >.>
>>46962759 I like it a-lot, might cop a third monitor to copy you.
I didn't, I just assumed because the photo was upside down haha.
Thanks, it gets cramped if i don't keep it tidy, but it's all there.
Not much man, quit my job, starting at a new workshop tomorrow.
what are the things you're sitting your studio monitors on?
so fucking hard to find desk monitor stands like pic related.
Not that anon but monitors specifically for vertical use, maybe with a 15:10 aspect ratio could be nice, especially when you want to do a setup like the infamous U3011 + 2x 2007FP setup which is so hard to clone with newer monitors because of varying sizes and them never quite lining up.
Any advice on a new GPU?
Also, /bst/, if I were to buy some new speakers, which brand should I go for?
Just built them out of timber when I made my desk, measured the height to get the tweeters at ear level then went to my local upholsterer and got some thick foam cut to size to help cut down on vibrations through the desk. Works mint and cost about $10 all up.
Wait for R9 300 series to come out so 200 prices drop like it's nvidiahot
As for speakers you can either go hi-fi route with passives + amp or get monitors like the Yamaha HS8's which would compliment your monitors imo
Yeah I'm just saying they look less... desirable, is all. Just some honest feedback, don't let it get to you.
>dat mushroom candy tin
(Old pic because muh mushroom bro)
>But those steel stands you posted look pretty, why not buy those?
Because, from afar, yours looked better. But in detail, it is so very obvious that they just are not nearly as good. It was merely a misunderstanding.
I wasn't trying to be a prick, the steel ones do genuinely look pretty.
have you looke at floor standing ones? A mate of mine is a producer and uses them, if you got the floor space they might be the go.
>A mate of mine is a producer
I'm sure he's simply wonderful at his job.
> too poor to afford a camera
You walk into a room, a cheap plastic desk sitts desolate in the back, met with
the sterile glare of 'high-end' led bulbs mounted in some cheap dollar-store
lamps with print-chinese fabric. The kind you see in the stores next to the ramen shop; mass-produced copies of some visionary's aborted design schema.
Closer inspection reveals heavy scuff marks on about 30 percent of the table, obviously the poor otaku had to rebuild his computer every 3 months, or so you tink. From left to right appears a small form-factor HP box, with scratches in
its case, obviously reducing its resale value, an NEC 17" monitor, with a few
physical holes in the screen, and a 15" dell LCD monitor, connected to a
generic beige tower on the floor, with about 20 or so cables that don't seem
to go anywhere. An obvious sign of the owner's mental status, you think.
Other items you notice are two pairs of unrecognizeable, off-brand keyboard and
mice sets, gloss-marked with rubbed out lettering, a few syringes, a wad of
dollar bills wrapped in a receipt for 'CDR-5s', a bottle of
caffeine pills, and some cheap knock-off fountain pen that reads 'HERO' on the side. You take this as some dark joke made at the owner's expense.
There is one exit in front of you, you can only go north.
I just got it all re-arranged so the wires are just kinda everywhere.
Just built the desk stand. I'm able to free up so much space now, because I can push my keyboard under there when I'm not using it.
Clean your shit
Does your PC really have to be on your desk, or is it just because you need to appreciate your sick LED's?
Can't see shit, get a lamp
So you're seriously using all computers at once?
Nice stuff, but not enough free space
>baggie with something white in it....
"Is that weed on the table?"
Where do you see latex gloves?
The box in the window are thin, cheap tissues there because I'm a clumsy fuck that can't go a day without spilling coffee everywhere. The milk carton next to it is for disposal of said tissues.
If I were richer, I'd have more room for all my shit
The Thinkpad doesn't normally live there; if I want to use it, I push my keyboard back
the surface is new, the black laptop was my old laptop im trying to think of what i should do with it. the grey one next to it is a computer i use for testing software and basically infect like hell to figure out how to get rid of viruses and other such testing. Its usually running something. Is an older desktop that i use for torrenting and things i would rather do on a desktop then a laptop like most art stuff. MY main desktop for gaming is in teh living room. so short answer yes, for the most part.
Now have a magni and modi for my 650's, not in the picture though.
Here's mine /g/ it's been updated a bit.
My two computer setup. One on the TV for media center, the other for work and gaming. Rate or hate!
Sorry my camera quality sucks, but I'm not buying one just for /g/ so you'll have to suffer through the pics taken with my GS5
Looks comfy, but a little cramped. I'm in the same keyboard tray boat with you though, ready to replace my desk, but my wife hates the one I want qq
Not bad, but you should get your fridge off the carpet. Not a fan of the speaker placement.
Cool monitor, I like the clean presentation
So many different setups! You should date the pics (even if just a guess) so that people can tell what your current setup is. I don't see an evolution, just a mashup of different equipment.
You're making my neck hurt =(
Does your tower not get in the way? I'd kick the hell out of mine constantly if placed in the same location
Will rate more later, heading to work now
Yeah basically, it's where the water heater is. Nah, the monitor is angled so the reflection isn't visible to me in the chair.
I like my green, but to each their own. Don't get tunnel vision and only dwell on what you don't like in life.
Jelly of the audio.. thats it.
too bright of a room for my taste but like it!
love em al
Im going to need your budget
I like the ubuntu laptop but thats it. get some actual stands for your moniors and NOT BOOKS!!!
this shouldnt be posted here anymore its fucking porn stop it you are hurting me
much better makes me feel alrigh.
heres mine G!
I'm thinking about getting a white desk or an all white keyboard because I can't really stand all the black anymore
6/10, your one speaker is tilted in farther than the other and dat keyboard is too ricer for me.
I've always liked the aesthetics of yours, 9/10. I hate your speakers though.
7/10. Good aesthetics and whatnot but speaker placement is pretty bad. Also, don't get a soundcard get an external DAC.
beautiful/10. Im not a fan of that klipsch line of speakers though.
Not bad considering your situation/10.
Best here. Love the ls50's. The headphones are nice too but I prefer audeze.
my port for it two HDMI cords one to the big tv and the other to my top forth monitor
If I had lots of money I dont ven know what I would spend it on :P
Gimmicky expensive and slightly inferior alternatives to my current hardware I suppose.
I have a rather general question but it's short so I don't want to open a new thread for it.
First of all, my "battlestation". Not very pretty but it's comfy as fuck, wouldn't have it any other way.
My question though: My PC is, say, 2 1/2 years old. It has 2 fans on top of the case which make a loud scratching-noise. I've already cleaned off the dust and had them running outside the case, where they seemed to be rotating kinda off-balance and wonky. Inside the case again they still make a semi-loud scratching noise.
Is it best to just straight up buy 2 new fans? They are pretty cheap.
Or might this be caused by something else I've overlooked?
Jokes aside, I don't even believe Geek Squad has that service. Last time I was in I had asked them and if the parts weren't purchased through Bestbuy, they can't install it if parts were doa or they had damaged them.
They did say a hardware install would be 80USD. When Microcenter charges like 50USD for a full build.
Ikea Linnmon (78" wide) and two Alex pieces, with a Sjunne leg piece.
kek Glad you approve.
Thank you. I know there are better speakers, but for the price, I'm not complaining. They're excellent with my receiver, too. (Marantz NR-1604)
I've been working on my media room, my poor battlestation has been neglected.
My little tin mushroom may still be filled with terrible candy.
Thanks. I still need to finish them but I was pretty anxious to hear them. The plan is to paint them like these since the room is almost similar colors and she seems to enjoy looking at hers.
Thanks but it is just MDF, it doesn't really look good in person and I have to touch up where I botched the circles.
The stands are temporary. I guess I'm going to build something similar to what is there but out of 2" thick pine planks and stain them grey. I dunno though, I haven't seen any thing really neat for speaker stands.
Entry level DSLR. Nikon D3200 kit.
Just what I had in mind.
Yeah, the room is brighter than normal for the picture. The screen and projector are both pretty low end to so I'm sure the picture quality is lacking. I've looked into DIY glass screens but have an entire house I'm trying to remodel so its not a priority. -TRIGGER WARNING- Its only 720p.
The fuck is going on here
Yeah I won't. Sorry for the dust particles in the new pic, I need to do my monthly cleaning still.
I've got IKEA Dioder Strip LED lights, two strips run behind my desk and the other two feed into my computer case. Controller is mounted under the desk.
i5-3570K @4.4 + Alpenföhn Brocken 2
Inno3d Airboss 980 Ultra @1,55 Ghz
Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB 1600
256 GB 840 Pro + 500 GB HDD
1.5 TB external
Steelseries Apex keyboard, Logitech G700S+hard surface
Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO
- shitty desk, shitty notebook, its the Lenovo Y510p SLI
this shit was hell expensive and its still going to be, i need a better monitor
also the notebook will be exchanged with a MSI GE60
I've always just bought main brand tv's and have been looking at Chang Hong and stuff in the past. How do you check the picture quality on something like Seiki? Just trust the reviews?
OP here. The monitor placement has been corrected (somewhat) and Ducky Legend in the mail. (Still a LED keyboard but I do like it because i suck at typing without looking at the keyboard and need it at night.
Nothing wrong with LED keyboards, Just the obnoxious G15 logo on the one you currently have annoys me.
Either way looks pretty cozy. Keep the meth smoking to a minimum though, shit rots your teeth.
Still waiting for new mouse. Been over 2 months. Massdrop never again.
Chair is comfy as fuck.
Picked it up cheap from an office surplus place - a little worn but it was at least a quarter the price of a similar one new.
It's been a while, think last time I posted I had the iMac on my desk (was on the right, monitor there now was up top which I bought the smaller one to replace). Shit's getting messy, I'll tidy it up a bit one day but I have too much stuff to get it as minimalist as some of you guys.
first ever post, this is my poor station
and remember kids, you can never drink enough water
yo bro is that one of them benqs that are rather new? I'm looking into getting a new monitor, I use a single monitor setup right now on a gtx 680 and need a new monitor because this dell IPS 24" is shitting out bad. How's that one you've got lying vertical?
>clean your shit
It is clean, at least reasonably so. What it isn't is tidy. The majority of the things on my desk and to the side I use regularly so it doesn't make sense to hide them away.
Is that a drip mod? I see 30W on .5ohm. How expensive was that set up? Is it difficult maintenance. Currently only use Eleaf and nautilus tank. Went through a couple vspinners to get to this, still need something better.
>Is that a drip mod?
That's a Fogger V5 on it in that photo, not a dripper but a rebuildable tank. I've since moved to a Subtank.
>How expensive was that set up?
The box was about £50, battery was around £8, Fogger and Subtank were both around £25 each.
>Is it difficult maintenance
The Fogger was a pain to build on and rewick, with the Subtank I use the prebuilt heads so it's simply a matter of buying a new one every few weeks. Batty can be charged in the device but is also easy to remove via the magnetic door if I want to swap in a fresh one.
Thanks. Actually half my Christmas lights burnt out so I'm gonna get a new strand soon. Not sure what color yet. Might go the same, who knows. Also hoping to light my TV as well which isn't pictured.
these are nice, I always dislike the bars between more than 3 monitors. if i were to have that many monitors displaying the same screen, I'd want the borders on the monitors to be nearly touching eachother, leaving no gaps in the pixels or as little as possible
I like your bright lights.
That desk is gaudy.
led backlighting 10/10
only station that isn't used by manchildren in this thread
See, I was worried about that at first, but filters on all intakes + positive pressure and I haven't had to clean anything but the filters in the 7 months I've had the build. I guess it helps that I keep a pretty tidy room.
Thank you. It was on sale when I found it and has nice features. I wish it was a bit wider though. I plan to add an akuma figure I have on top of the drive cage when I get home. I think he'll look pretty cool with the red LEDs. Too bad my camera is too awful to photograph it.
what air conditioner is that? i've been looking for one since summer here in south africa gets really bad. Almost 40c and my home is old
and doesn't have a A/C. Been thinking about getting a small unit for my room such as yours since it would probably be cheap solution
then having to bang new holes on the walls to make room for air ducts. How power hungry is it and can the leds be turned off? LEDs aren't
a deal breaker for me but they get annoying at night. Is that unit enough for a home or just a single room? Again, not a deal breaker since
i mainly want it for my room since my computer suffers in the summer.
yeah tabasco is straight up vinegar. its more acrid than hot. tapatio has a nice burn without being overpowering and actually has a lot of flavour. tabasco on the other hand is just popular because of it's iconic branding. Tabasco is the white people's hot sauce that fails to be the real thing.
It's hella messy and I need to tidy up on my cable management again.
first time posting. just finished building my new desk and still working on cable managment
Hopefully when I move in the fall I can get an L table and get rid of the entertainment center my TV is on because it's crowded in here.
is that a fucking diaper changing bench? if so, you got class boy
>all those garbage programs installed/being used
>At least hide that shit dude it gives away the fact that you're not from here
i have diff apps now, ive heard this before. i know. i agree. im no longer using 8 of those apps
now using :
KeePass, Thunderbird, Pale Moon, Foobar2000, MPC HC, MusicBee, SumatraPDF, qBittorrent, Soulseek, SNES9x, Steam , and big surprise i still use Origin cause my noshahr canals
>using an "optimized" fork that is slower than the original
Why be this retarded? Or are you one of those Gaymergate morons who switched over because of something Mozilla said
