AMD is fucking rekt.
Keking pretty hard. Is Nvidia trying to make fun of themselves?
Would you want nvidia to make a reference card designed to be power and small?
The 970 Mini from Asus is probably the best option at the moment if you want something small and powerful.
I thought the point behind tech company April fools jokes was that the product was stupid shit that nobody would ever actually want (the Google toilet or whatever it was for example). This would actually be something good.
why don't they just make every 970 small like that?
what's honestly the difference between the two if they are same speed? you would also think it would be cheaper to produce mini versions since it cuts down on the PCB and heatsink size.
>not getting your shit together and bringing a girl home to show her your color coordinated guts
>not pre-moistening her with the pristine condition of your computer hardware to prepare her for the whole of your 3.5mm™ The Way It's Meant To Be Played cock.
>he doesn't stare through the side panel as his GTX Titan lights up and his UV lights pulsates like the blood rushing through my dick
what are you, gay?
This would be a great housfires card considering that the Titan x can go from 100℃ to 110℃
Are you AMD fags ever going to let that go?
Even as the fire from your AMD card starts to engulf your home you take one last second to shitpost against nvidia as the flames scorch your fingers and suddenly it's too late to get out.
But, as you die, despite the shit, the rhetoric you spill... you still know, in those moments, nvidia won.
Lol it's power usage is also hilarious.
BUT BUT IT'S OK THAT IT USES SO MUCH POWER AND IT RUNS SO HOT IT'S DESIGNED LIKE THAT IT'S POWERFUL FAR MORE THAN YOUR 290 OR 290X AMD POORFAG.
Wow your new card that costs about 4 times more than a 18 month old card is 30% more powerful WOW AMAZING.
The fucking 900 series has been a pathetic disappointment.
The 280 or 285 destroys the 960 the 290 is better than the 970 the 290x on par with a 980 at resolutions beyond 1080p and the 295x2 rapes the Titan X.
WTF are you doing Nvidia?
Nvidia started the housefire meme, not AMD you newfriend.
There has never been a AMD housefire, the hpusfires meme started when Nvidia cards really did burn peoples houses down.
>285 isn't faster than GTX 960 and doesn't even support modern features like HEVC decoding & HDMI 2.0
>280 can't support variable refresh rate for gaming, you can enjoy tearing with v-sync off or stuttering with v-sync on
Sure keep telling yourself that.
No they haven't post proofs then.
The 280x performs over 25% better than the 960 which costs the same as a 960 with 50% more VRAM so no talk just sleep now.
>That means brand-new cards like the Radeon R9 280, 280X, 270, and 270X won't be FreeSync-capable. Nor will any older Radeons in the HD 7000 and 8000 series. AMD tells us these prior-gen GPUs don't have the necessary support for the latest DisplayPort standard.
TOP KEK, AMDPOORFAGS
The monitors with a Gsync module cost nearly twice as much as the 960 you could just buy a 290 or 290x and use Freesync for no price premium.
Seriously who the fuck buys a 960 to use with Gsync?
The whole idea of power efficiency being even a tiny factor of consideration in a high end gaming machine baffles me.
You don't see drag racers boasting about their fuel efficiency. The only relevant factors are performance and price.
I did both. The 295x2 decimates the Titan X and the 390x and 395x2 will rape the Titan X and the 1000 series looks to be coming out in Late 2016 so instead if taking 18 months like AMD and Nvidia normally take it will be 24 months from the 900 series release. Normally AMD release their cards 6 months after Nvidia which is smart as it means they are 6 months ahead in tech for a year but because of the 1000 series forecasted delays it looks like the 300 series will be released soon and the 400 released around the same time as the 1000.
This will be significant as the 900 series performs worse than the currently 18 month old 200 series and the leaks for the 980TI show it to perform worse than the Titan X.
So the 300 series will rule as undisputed king with early experience from HBM for 18 months and by the time the 1000 series is released they would have been stuck with cards that perform as well as 3 year old cards whilst AMD users will have been using watercooled 8GB HBM 395x2 and AMD will likely have a big advantage in both CPU and GPU having this experience with HBM as they seem to be taking it much more seriously with both Zen and the 300 series.
I can't wait for how significantly the DX12 update effects things. All tests so far show what we already know that Nvidia sell expensive shit with out of the door good software optimization but AMD has been at times lacking. But with DX12 that is no longer a issue and many tests have shown that a 290x and a Titan X perform about equally with DX12 and DX12 being based of of Mantel is designed to optimize AMD CPU's so that will also help them.
I agree I'm the one your quoting but it's nice proving that they are idiots that don't know WTF they are talking about and their only argument of AMD HOUSEFIRES AND 300W LOL is wrong compared to their flagship card.
i don't mind usually
but this one is annoying, because manufactures really should have tried a bit harder to reduce card length again
it's gotten out of hand for i while now, and there don't seem to be any good technical reasons for it as
the "problem" is that people with actual indepth knowledge about tech, left this board
now consumer products is the only level of topics you will find here and a discussion most likely leads to nothing
If this is supposed to be an April fools joke then it's a fucking dumb one. There are probably people who would want this. Why would you put that out there, when it's actually something people might want?
it was funny when it was surprising, now it's expected and lame
Will DirectX 12 allow me to connect the new 380X that's gonna come out with my current 280X?
Also why the fuck does everything have to be named 'X'? Why not 'w'? Or some greek letters or something.
It was the only benchmark test I had that tested many games whilst including the 960 and 280x
It's still the same elsewhere the 280x performs on average 20 to 25% better than a 960 whilst having 50% more RAM only .5 less RAM than the 970 as opposed to 1.5
I love how Nvidia keeps rolling out products, even products that aren't even on people's radar. All while AMD has just been talking about their upcoming cards forever, and leaking benchmarks to shill websites.
But don't worry guys, the AMD cards are going to shit all over GTX cards. They're just a month or two away, or maybe longer, or something like that, idk...
toppest of keks, ohmygod, ahhhh, ohhhhhh, level 8, leather belt?
Remember leaf blower
Remember house fire
Remember driver rekker
>it's january 2015
>gtx 970 stutters
>a guy writes a program, that show's gtx 970 bandwidth slow-down at 3200mb-3400mb vram usage
>it goes from 224gbps to 22gbps
>games stutter for 0.7 sec every 3 seconds when that happens
>you lose 7/8 of frames every 3 seconds
>play at 80 fps
>skip 70 frames every 3 seconds
here u go anon, also, if u want to know more or a bit more specific info, google 970 3.5gb
whoever posted this, fuck, you got a sense of humour
>implying nvidia needs an april fools joke when everything that isn't a mainline card below the 970 is already a joke
seriously, they start so many projects, have any actually succeeded? they keep trying to come up with reasons to justify tegra, remember that cars shit?
No. They just wanted cheap out on the card, it ain't no feature.
The fact is the card really only have 3.5GB, they other 0.5GBs can't be used in a real situation. But they still market it as 4GB.
>lower case w is another form of "omega"
you're not helping your case
Kill you'reselfs you samefags
no they wanted a 4gb card to compete with the 290 and 290X both of which have proper 4gb of VRAM that isn't fucked up so the kept a 512mb partition on chip that was completely fucked and advertized the card as 4gb
because of this "feature" whenever you get close to the 3.5gb usage limit it forced access of the .5 partition which is 1/8th the speed of the rest of the VRAM and both partitions cannot be accessed simultaneously so while your operating the .5 partition everything else stops and your operating at hideously slow speed until that task is finished and it goes back to using the 3.5gb partition
this causes horrible game breaking errors and stuttering/freezing like you wouldn't fucking believe
if they removed the .5gb section and just advertised it as a 3.5gb card this would never have happened
if you bought a gtx 970 then Nvidia fucked you harder than any consumer since their old fermi "housefire" cards
and if you got fucked over buy the 970 and then turned around to buy a 980 than you are an even bigger cuckold than a guy who lets niggers inseminate his wife daily
They lied to their customers and that's something to be rightfully upset about.
But these "gamebreaking scenarios" barely happen. Lots of people tried getting into that broken territory through normal game usage in various tests and didn't manage to. And what happens at 3.5 is not much different from what happens when a 290x reaches 4.0 : FPS drop sharply, because swapping needs to happen. Or what do people expect to happen when they drive a card beyond its RAM limit? Graceful decline? Ha.
no it isnt it needs a 1400-1500mhz clock to match an R9-290 running at stock 1000mhz speed in most applications
that unless your gtx970 is somehow magically more powerful than the gtx 970 i ran benchmarks on because at extreme1080p i see consistently 30fpsMin and around 110-115 fps maximum with an averaging hovering around 60fps using Valley
a sapphire R9-290 achieved this score with 1150mhz
an evga gtx 970 needed 1455mhz to do this
and when you crank of the resolution the 290 takes less of a performance hit
the 970 a godawful piece of shit
