seems like he finally got sick of it
If you mean it looks like shit after updating to 0.9.3.1, and looked okay on 0.9.3.0, that would be due to the addition of droid-sans in the above commit
hopefully this time he just ignores the idiots and doesn't have another autism fit
I think it is a Windows issue rather than Firefox.
Trygfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode = 5and see if that helps.
>It doesn't even matter if uBlock is technically faster or slower, trimmer or more bloated. It's the novel placebo that's marketed based on the popular public perception. People LOVE a placebo, almost as much as they love new and shiny. And if it fall apart as a project? Who knows, maybe Wladimir and the team will borrow some of their ideas.
I present for your consideration, a nomination for dumbest Internet comment of Spring 2015.
>offers visible benefits
I don't understand. Has this person never used the addon before? You can enable like 15 filters in ublock and the memory usage will barely even move. Adblock plus would shit itself if you had that many filters on at once. Hell even easylist can cause adblock plus to shit itself.
>>maybe Wladimir and the team will borrow some of their ideas
Is one of those ideas "rebuilding ABP from the ground-up to not be such a ridiculous resource hog?" Because that's an idea they should've retroactively borrowed years before uBlock's inception.
It might be an o, it might be a 0. It might be pronounced as you-block-origin, you-block-zero, you-block-nothing, you-block-omega or you-block-old. The issue tracker is open, it's time we settle this once and for all, /g/!
The same kind of dumbfuck that's going to make me a lot of shekels in donations, silly goy.
>mfw I still use 0.8.8.2
I can't be bothered to update, and everything still works.
>still shilling for uHide
Enjoy being tracked by ad companies which is their only goal these days.
>it's not hiding, it's really blocking!
Check your browser cache.
>but but but this url that explains why!
Funny, I don't get ads hidden in ABP, cache is clean.
>BUT BUT BUT ABP DOESNT BLOCK SOME ADS PAID BLAH BLAH CANCER!!!
ABP tells you this up front and gives you a fucking link to the configuration page and TELLS YOU HOW TO DISABLE THIS ON INSTALL.
>BUT MAH RESOURCES!!!!!!
Stop using your mom's 2002 Dell, kids.
There is no reason to use this uHide garbage over ABP.
>Personal tests show ublock using 1.7 MBs after over 24 hours of my browser running. Adblock Plus was using 15 MBs. That may seem like a big difference, however it is not.
Look at this moron. That memory use can only be one tab. With 30 tabs open and multiple embedded frames extra ram would rocket over half a gig. For one extension.
Fuck macfag jew chris retard, all he has done is edit the README over and over and change his site layout for maximum donations.
>You going to spam this same photo everyday? They are forked now.
Firstly it's a screenshot not a photo, and it is edited for comedy.
Secondly: Yes, I will post this every day because credit is due to those who do actual work.
Nothing you or your jewish puppet master can do to stop me. Hope he pays you well for this shilling.
> credit is due to those who do actual work
You can give that same individual attribution for running off Deathamns as well.
>Nothing you or your jewish puppet master can do to stop me
The next time your boy rage quits should suffice.
What's stopping Wladimir from outright forking ublock and calling his fork Adblock Plus?
Important question needs resolution anon ^^^
It's a "fork", but he is the original dev and put way more effort into it than Chris. He's happy to work on the code while letting Chris do marketing, communication and ports.
Communication doesn't seem to be gorhill's strongest suit, but he is a great coder. To Chris's credit, he seems to be able to deal with the mixed signals rather well and accomodate gorhill.
This cosmetic filter toggle is great. I element hide a LOT of shit, including shit I know I'll only use once every other week and don't want in the way otherwise, and it's nice to be able to temporarily make it viewable again without having to disable adblocking.
gorhill got mad as retarded requests, tried to pass the project on to the lead firefox dev, that quit quit, he gave it to the safari dev. safari guy put up donation links. now the lead guy opened issues again so he caused a bunch of autism for nothing
people were spamming the issue trackers with non-ublock problems and gorhill got mad and left and put chris in charge of the main repo. Then chris put donation buttons up everywhere and gorhill got mad about that and asked chris to change the name. Then gorhill renamed his own fork.
>Because now this version is a fork of the previous repo, I need to also change name for installation purpose, which means that with this release, uBlock0 will no longer fetch settings from former uBlock, so it will install as if it was the first time.
>Please backup all your settings using a prior release -- if not done yet. You can restore them all with this release. This can be easily done through the Settings pane in uBlock0's dashboard: just click the "Restore from file" button.
>Anyways, I will keep the previous dev release alive for longer than usual, so if ever your forgot to backup your settings, you can re-install the previous release, save your settings, then move back to this release.
>If you install from the Chrome/Opera store, there is nothing to do.
Gorhill is such a cuck.
I can kinda sympathize with what's he's doing here, I too like to edit something a thousand times to make sure it's perfect.
Except I do that on places like forums and not on fucking github.
>So why is Chris doing the Chrome version still?
Probably because he already paid to put it on the Chrome store. If nothing else some of the donations had to have been used for that.
Chris was the Safari maintainer. Gorhill pushed ownership of the repo onto him when he had a mental breakdown. As far as I know Gorhill haven't asked for ownership back, instead being content with his own fork and very strict issue guidelines.
No shit. I put all the blame on gorhill with his cowardly attitude and vanishing act, causing the guy that did the Firefox port, Deathamns, to quit in the process. Then gorhill returns and starts doing his own version with a fucking 0 at the end of it.
>still getting ad images in my browser cache whenever i navigate to something using uBlock
>turn off ublock and on ABP, fucking nothing
EXPLAIN THIS EGGHEADS
And don't give me this "but but this random page said blah blah something will block future yadda", I keep getting ads even on refresh and FUCKING NOTHING in ABP.
Seriously, explain yourselves.
I hope you fucking viral marketers for this uHide pile of shit get what you fucking deserve one day when it comes out that you are taking jew money from ad companies to have your program allow ads to act as web bugs.
This is absolutely monstrous and unethical.
Fuck you and fuck your goddamn scam.
gorhill is using a different extension identifier now. As weeks and months pass on, you will need to manually update forever.
Only the extension Alex is working on will get auto-updates.

gorhill will be forgotten
jews versions seems to play nicer with firefox.
>font renders right in the control panel
>it doesn't randomly auto disable
but it's missing pic related
At this point i'm kinda hoping for yet another fork that will merge both into one. Get all the newest fixes from gorhils along with all the firefox fixes from chris's. They really should of just kept the one and had someone in charge of responding to idiots.
