I'm probably planting the flowers for my battlestation today, in case you were wondering- as they're going to take a while until you actually see something start to grow.
It's not a perfect photo but that's life. Now I'll probably start saving for a mini-itx build to go where the xbox is, or something.
I have three cacti, some basil seeds and that big green plant.
My 980 and a mechanical mass storage hdd comes in the mail tuesday... in time for GTA 5.
The 295 I got for 30 bucks off ebay and Ill keep it around as a spare it's had no issues for about 2 months now using it on pretty steady gaming.
24 and still at home. I have a job and graduate this semester, but sheeeyyyt. I thought I'd be out by now.
Im almost 27 and still at home. I got a garage for my car and rent free and able to have anyone over at any time. Nothing wrong with that. When I have the money Ill move into my own house but I dont see the point in shitty apartments I could have afforded in worse parts of town.
That's cool as shit. Mad fucking jelly.
I like this a lot, it's very bright and welcoming.
T-minus a month until I move out. I have so much ready for my new room. Acoustic foam, dual VESA arm to go with my second monitor, and a FC660M to replace my older CM Storm. It's gonna be a fun summer. That, and a desk with actual space.
replacing the HAF and my evga 560ti with a R4 and gigabyte 970 when I'm done with final exams in 2 weeks.
so hyped for 4 months of non stop vidya
The battlestation supplies have been ordered, and the seeds have been planted.
The picture is the seeds with soil in a Tupperware container covered with Saran wrap.
Wish me luck with building my battlestation, ayy?
IKEA GALANT desk, Dell D2015H monitor, Dell KM714 mouse and keyboard for now. I might order a second monitor later on if I end up needing dual monitors, or I'll use my old monitor.
It should also be mentioned that I'll be mounting my TV above my battlestation.
Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess. I bought and own all of my things.
It is the same guy every thread complaining about every picture with anime in it using the word weeb incorrectly. I don't know why he doesn't just get mad at every picture with setups that he can't afford though.
I've disliked the blues from the start because I'm a very heavy fingered typist apparently, as I bottom out the keys and it actually bugs my fingers not to. It's my first mechanical, and I love the layout. Never used the numpad but wanted to keep arrows + delete at the very least.
r8/h8 1 of 2. Mini nettop desktop running Linux Lite. Im not a gamer or anything, just needed a simple system for internet browsing/email client.
Been a while since I've posted one of these, although my battlestation hasn't changed much anyways.
Just got it today, cost $140, pretty neat. I haven't used a mac since the old Apple IIs in grade school, so it's kind of novel to play around with, though my list of grievances is growing by the hour. A lot of things don't "just work", or at least don't to someone who's used windows for the last twenty years.
Got a new monitor to replace my dying one.
I actually do accounting for a living. I hate it. It pays the bills. No programming or anything. I just needed a really simple system for browsing. I spend all day at work looking at spreadsheets and shit. When I get home I have little desire to be on the computer. So I only need a simple setup for the home to browse/emails.
>no animu wallpaper
>no cute mousepad
Please, use this wallpaper I made of my waifu and take another picture, this time, without the mousepad.
You missed the part where I picked up up second had for $140 to fuck with.
It's the 2210 model. Early 2008, 2.66ghz core duo, 4 megs of ddr2 ramz, Radeon HD 2600 graphics, and I think a 320 gig hard drive.
Nice, my waifu looks beautiful as always.
Is the slut in the mousepad from code geass?
>he actually paid money for an xbox one
>shit tier monitor
>case on desk
>piss poor cable management
>nauseating wood paneling
that settles it. But if you really wanted you could build a false wall in front of it and have it finished however you'd want to. No point in wasting that money in a place you're renting but with enough ingenuity you can do a lot of things.
>having a messy station
Don't be messy, niggers
New computer build and old machine turned into a home server. All I do is work from home at my desk and play games.
New is the cube case old is the giant ass tower.
I think I recognize an Anubias plant in there, but I'm not sure all of those plants are real. Unless that lamp of his is like a 100 watts strong. Generally speaking you need about 1-2 watts of lighting per gallon so that your plants grow decently.
By the looks of it, that tank has to be at least 30-40 gallons big, so he'd need about 70-80 watts to grow things properly. Although the anubias plants do prefer their lighting on a low to moderate level so it's not impossible to grow them in a less than ideal place where most other plants would suffer.
This message was brought to you by your friendly neighborhood /an/ fishkeeper.
>drinking meme coffee
>having literal worst girl on your desk
I'm a Reifag so I can can say this:
Q a shit
glad y'all liked the couple little reviews I made towards the end of the last thread. I might make that a regular thing ;)
looks pretty cramped. nice light and shelf, though.
for what purpose
there is literally nothing in your post that should warrant anyone to take you seriously.
that looks nice. I like the lights and your amp, though a wood desk would be nice.
consider a rug, maybe?
I'm moving out of my parents house and getting an apartment next month (same carpet/wall color as pic). I cannot decide which looks sexier; a darker colored desk or a lighter colored one. I'm thinking a darker color one to provide some contrast. Any homosexual interior designers around have any thoughts? I'm looking into getting the "Malm" desk from IKEA.
I live in a small apartment so I don't have much space, but I do the best with what I have.
Bottom left is my file server and then I have my seedbox under my big monitor, my laptop for miscellaneous tasks and of course my main PC.
I made my own as well, vinyl paper stretched over MDF wood and laid on top of a glass desk. I hate edgy things, so I made sure I could never be accused of such things when I made my edges. :^)
Joking aside, it never looked that bad without the camera flash, and now it is a little better since I cut, stretched, and reglued half of it to the underside, it is flush finally. I still have the other half to go, but it's time consuming, I am lazy, and for the last 2 days I moved the room around and cleaned various things. Maybe I will have the willpower to finish it tomorrow, or maybe I am lying to myself again.
YALL BE HATING
This right her!M This shit right HER is the best Battle station EVER!
a bit, stuff to do for college and finishing scholar of the first sin achievements while messing with clusters.
getting there, faffing around with dhcp just now
Heres mine, I've had a hard on for multiple monitors so Ill be getting at least 1 more haha.
Wish I knew programming so Id have a reason to get more.
I really need to move. I hate these fucking walls.
Im too old for dota. You see it started out as a custom game mode in a game called warcraft 3. Dota was like 90% of the custom games soon enough and pissed people like me off that wanted to play other custom matches. Its kinda cool it turned into its own game but I just always have something against MOBAs now because of those days when I wanted to play other game modes and 90% of them were fucking dota in wc3.
dota ain't a moba man, and there were still plenty of people/bots hosting other games back in the day, theres even still bots hosting games now
also why didnt you just host your own?
Oh I remember that, It really just became real popular I remember in wc3 custom games and it was hard to find anything else.
I got a backlog of games and gta 5/ KF2 and other new releases I must prioritize. Plus the wc3 custom game permanently left a bad taste in my mouth for dota.
Sup /g/, is Noppoo Lolita even worth the money?
my battlestation is shit, but I can do everything whilst doing nothing all at the same time. I'm also a pretty bad hoarder, surprisingly, I have a fulltime job and an athelitc life outside
well, despite my laziness, I still like to have social interactions and flirt around, of course, staying fit is a must. Gotta balance my laziness with feeling good. Also cut down on my pot use by using once a week. It's spring time and it's time for me to cut from bulking. Need fulltime job to keep up with steam sales and hardware
is it because I'm being a consumer?
messy phone picture from yesterday r8 and h8
old pic, will take new one when new monitor arrives in a few weeks
Really need to switch out that shitty TN monitor...
Not pictured: 24" touchscreen on coffee table for couch antics
This is cancerous to my health. Please delete those abominations from vefore they Became buckets / packets.
O. My. God. It. Its fucki g horrible
I'm using mine at the moment to have my code editor on one monitor and my todo list and music player on the other monitor.
I mostly look at my main one though and could easily survive with just one in OSX, as you pointed out
Just moved into my home office, It's a mess.
Working on a camping table right now while I wait for furniture to be delivered.
Could you guys please recommend a decent dual monitor arm?
I'm running this right now: http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8
Don't be put off by the name, it does stacking or side-by-side. The actual "side-by-side" arm is less flexible for the same price.
Takes ~15m to assemble, sturdy as fuck, comes with all screws, cable ties, brackets, looks great. Recommended
Might I also suggest this for your cable management: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/10200254/
Install is way easier with a drill if you have one, I bought the orange Ikea one FIXA.
Ah, I'll have to see if I can get IKEA to ship to my destination
but that does look like exactly what I need for all these cables.
I'll ask a local metal worker to make something similar if I can't
have it delivered. Thanks for being so helpful!
Ugly ? Yes.
Cheap ? Yes.
Stable as a goddamn mountain ? Hell yeah.
My old motorized desk stand whatever you call it broke down and I had to get some new temporary table legs on the cheap while I save up for a new motorized stand, and these were the best option available.
They may be ugly, but at least an earthquake wouldn't make my desk go wobbly.
Rearranged my room a bit since last time i've posted... also, moved my hifi setup back to my room. To hell with that 5.1 shit speakers when i can have this connected to my pc.
Is this aquarium trend the new /g/ maymay?
Get anime figures niggers it looks better. Stop pretenting you grew up from being a weaboo?
You still are one. And Aquariums won't help you get girls
1000usd for an office chair.. I think I'm gonna do it.
This has great potential. Many different setups that could work perfectly as well.
Yeah I can't work as good with a mechanical/high-profile keyboard. And this one has performed well since day 1. Logitech K810, I recommend it.
I bought them on a sale, loads of speaker for a small price. I figured I'd make use of them better in the future, and now I will once I move in with my buddy. Apartments are fucking difficult to get.
I'm currently looking for monitors to have at the pc since the floorspeakers will go to the tv.
>This has great potential.
Thank you, I'll post another update once my furniture has arrived.
It'll be a mix of reclaimed wood and white washed pine, I'm trying to keep things light and simple.
Yeah that sounds real nice. I've wanted to make a reclaimed wood sort of table but it doesnt fit this room or my apartment. I'm going with a kitchen counter for the apartment.
With that floor and carpet of yours, the reclaimed wood will be good shit if done right.
ye, its the overnight sensations kit. the kit from parts express is really easy to put together since it comes with cabinets pre cut, you just need wood glue and some weights. but if you want to build the cabinets, meniscus audio is the best source; theirs comes with stuffing, screws, wire which the parts express kit doesn't.
I upgraded from micca motion mb42's.
The woofer is a transmission line that i designed and just finished last night. i just need to paint it. i put it there for fun and to take a pic for /g/. It'll go on the floor eventually or maybe in my car or something.
How im powering everything now is really ghetto, i have two cheap lepai amps, one for the overnight sensations, then i made a ghetto low pass filter on the RCA cables connecting the other amp which is powering the woofer. since the woofer is a transmission line it doesn't need a lot of power to get plenty loud.
I really recommend the overnight sensations if you have a free weekend and want some excellent desk/tv speakers for the price. I find the imaging really great on them, and the bass extends quite low for their size. a woofer really isn't necessary with these for most people in most rooms.
Plz r8 my plebstation, suggest improvements too. Sry for shitty pic.
Made myself a new cable management box today.
Fucken cats eat cables if i leave em around.
You are the hero /g/ needs
Yup. Baby's first mechanical keyboard! I'm really liking it! The switches are light and have a slight click to them. Thought the LEDs would annoy me, but I'm starting to really like them.
I have the same keyboard, the only annoying thing is the non-standard bottom row, makes finding a whole PBT replacement key cap set kind of a pain, other than that I really like it.
I am in desperate need of a camera that isn't shit.
Canon EOS M - pretty much the best mirrorless compact I've had
the pleasure of using. Great low light, yours for about $300 Americbucks.
It's fucking poo thanks to the AF. Sure this won't matter as long as you are doing some /bst/ pics on a tripod all day but for actual shooting it's not a camera I'd recommend. Entry level DSLRs will serve you better.
Just felt like taking this picture.
Yes things are dusty, sorry.
Here again, with a shot in the day time.
Better picture of what my room looks like.
(New speakers aren't in this one though.)
Neat. Are you going to paint it or stain it to match the speakers?
I am working on a Monitor Statement build, trying to cheat and fit it all in a small area. Just barely started the painting process, going to take a lot more prep work then I was anticipating.
How tall is your sub? Did you design it yourself? I really like the transmission line designs. My sub doubles as my end table and was built of reused parts from a sonosub I had built.
I like your little build though. Do you think those put out enough sound to fill a large kitchen? They look nice enough I don't think my lady would care too much.
just set up in my new apartment.
This picture is absolutely terrible, but its comfy.
Thank you! And yeah, it's a Yamaha DGX-650, a fairly popular line of digital pianos.
Say I wanted to learn to play piano, should I just buy a cheap keyboard for starters?
How long does it take to be able to play something that sounds good if I only invested a small amount of time in it, say 15 minutes a day?
Sure, you don't need something expensive to start with, the only thing that's important is that the keyboard is long enough (88 keys is standard, a little less is OK), and having a sustain pedal is a nice plus. I actually bought this piano just last year, after my cheap old keyboard died. The main difference between a fancy one and a cheap one is that the expensive ones have weighted keys (meaning the keys have weight and resistance similar to real keys).
Anyway, I never took any lessons and took this up as a personal hobby since we had a piano around at home. Playing something that "sounds good" you could do in your first few days, but it'll be simple. Learning how to read sheet music takes a day, from there just look up songs you enjoy and start learning! A little theory always helps but finger positioning and that sort of thing is useful to know.
I have a Korg myself. Weighted keys are nice, it makes it easier to transition to a real piano if you ever get the cance to play one. It makes your fingers stronger. I'd probably check the used market and buy a keyboard if I were just starting out. A foot pedal is very important.
You can make progress fairly quickly if you pick and easy song. Video game songs are nice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvgKQMWf3sU&index=1&list=PLLlgV5jVZF2T8x-q0elIOP6PyGLvrSA4v) or songs by Ludovici Einaudi. They often have lots of repetition so it's easier to learn.
Finally got my CRT TV for the retro consoles.
Shit looks so much better on it goddamn.
Sorry for the (second) potato photo.
Also here's an old video from around a year ago that I just found. I've gotten much better since, but it's still fun to watch. This was me trying to get used to weighted keys.
(Can anyone guess the song?)
I think you're quoting the wrong person.
I've just always been lazy with cable management, sorry. I just find it more convenient most of the time when I need to unplug or replace cables. I'm not a particularly creative person either, just a programmer. Camera is also a gopro, no fancy DSLR. Not very big on photography but I do like nice pictures.
Also polite sage we've got a new thread >>47506446
Im just going to plasti-dip it black or something since there are a bunch of screws visable. Its size is 30in tall 18in wide and 14in deep. The line is folded 4 times and its tuned to about 25Hz. I used the hivi m8n woofer and designed it based on these resources.
Transmission lines are awesome, im powering it with 20 Watts and i havn't turned the volume all the way up yet. its in a small room though.
I would say the overnight sensations would be good for ambient music in a larger room. The first pair i made was for my parents' living room and they can certainly fill the space well.
>TV on but no one is watching it
>no ottoman for feet or table for drinks by the couch
>drawers under table cannot be opened
>different sized monitors
>dark_as_my_soul meme lighting
>"artsy" photos on wall
>keeping media in physical form
you'll get there one day.
