No, there's two variants, some cases need the bezel to have a step in the side to make room for the crown. If you're buying one the seller should specify which cases the bezel is for.
>suddenly interested in casio data bank watches
>all the interesting models are discontinued
>used they are either rare, expensive or in bad conditions
From boris_gvb on eBay
Good to Vostok Amphibian and Komandirskie watches with first 2 digits of number : 06, 09, 10, 11, 42, 43, 71, 81, 92
Bezel fits to Vostok Amphibian watches with first 2 digits of number : 06, 09, 10, 11
This manufacturer specifies that their bezel fits the 120 and other cases that the first Boris bezel fits, so I'd say it's guaranteed to fit the 120 too.
Jesus, where is the extra $250 justified on this terrorist pos
Is the really important stuff written as full words?
>similar to chronograph
Take your iWatch to Afghanistan and see how it goes.
hey there you lovely thing
time to post Sinns
I should hopefully be getting my DA 38 Black next week. I'm so hyped.
God that's a nice watch.
On topic: which is easier to service, a Sinn or Damasko? If I bought a Sinn wouldn't I have to send it to Germany to be serviced? Or would I have to do that with a Damasko too?
A Damasko would definitely have to be sent back to Germany if for nothing more than because of their proprietary panted crown system. Supposedly with Sinn you can send them off to RGM Watch Company in Pennsylvania for service.
What's a plain simple, comfortable watch for someone that doesn't dress in suits or like hipsters every day? And personal reasons, no G-Shocks
If you bother so much about what people think of you, you'll come to realize that no matter what you do, there'll be someone, somewhere, hating you for it.
But then it's quite ironic because you're asking people for advice.
Just do what you like and stop having such shitty thoughts.
Why are Victorinox watches so sexy? Are they even good?
How much better does it look irl compared to the AL-190?
Spring Drives are nice but I'd choose Hi-Beat if I had the money.
Rose gold and non-skeleton is better.
I prefer platinum by appearance but I'm sure it'd be heavy as all hell.
Openworked looks stupid up front, but that ass..
I like the Malte tourbillon better.
>dat case shape
Look into ABC watches.
Suunto and Garmin make decent gps ones.
If you want an actual compass that works, get an actual compass.
Suunto has the M9 (pic related) which might be relevant I guess.
Digital compasses don't work the same as regular compasses, and need to be calibrated quite often. This makes using them a largely different experience.
If all you want is a compass, you're better off with a simple button compass, as imprecise as it is, it'll be as good as any watch can be, and way more practical.
Well for a start the case is coated resin but it at least looks metallic, that watch looks like the silver coloured plastic you'd find on a knockoff console controller. I got the AL-180 because I liked the solar panel gimmick and the 80s styling, I don't really like the AL-190, the case looks similar to the G-shock design.
I hate how Casio makes silver colored resin cases. Why can't they make fucking steel ones? It's not like there' isn't a demand for it, and that people wouldn't put the money into it.
I don't know man. I prefer pretty much the exact opposite. Small delicate lugs that aren't an integral part of the watch's round shape.
Also, a little autistic, but I'm not really a fan of the look you get when replacing a bracelet on a watch like pic related, with a leather strap. It's the flow of the sides of the case into the lugs being broken up by the leather.
A nice look, I think, is something like a cocktail time. That's a biased opinion though, I love mine.
Yeah, it's pretty small, but that's what I like about digital watches, they're just something to put on and forget about.
Just dropped my komandirskie on the floor while trying to wear it. The dial was scratched a bit, and the watch stopped beating all together, then I use the crown to rotate back and forth the minute hand and it is running again. I wonder for how long?
At least it wasn't my Orient Star with sapphire crystal that I dropped, it could had shattered and damaged the whole watch.
Seiko sea urchin with bond strap
Yes my arms are hairy sorry you look like a bitch
It's probably fine. It is meant to take a beating and the tolerances are looser than a cheap filippino whore. I would open the back just to make sure the hairspring isn't tangled or deformed. Just do it on a clean table and wear latex gloves to avoid getting anything inside and for the love of god, don't touch anything. Also check accuracy. If everything is ok then forget about it
You can open it with a pair of needle nose pliers or long tweezers. Wrap the jaws with plastic wrap if you don't want to scratch the back. Not that it matters anyway, it's a $30 watch
There's barely any tritium. Also, tritium produces beta radiation:
>Beta particles(electrons) are more penetrating, but still can be absorbed by a few millimeters ofaluminum. However, in cases where high energy beta particles are emitted shielding must be accomplished with low density materials,e.g.plastic,wood,water, oracrylic glass(Plexiglas, Lucite). This is to reduce generation ofBremsstrahlungX-rays.
I doubt any more than a very tiny amount of radiation would escape the watch. It's only a concern for people who have to manufacture the watch or service it or dispose of it.
High energy beta radiation can produce X-rays as bremsstrahlung radiation, but tritium is the lowest-energy beta emitter there is. I'm not going to say that there's zero x-rays but I really really doubt it's anything to worry about.
Just brought a white Timex Weekender and when it arrives i'll buy an NATO France flag strap.
Was going to buy an F91W before that but my new credit card arrived so "why not".
>tfw I got drunk Saturday and took of my casio terrorist watch and tossed it somewhere it somewhere before going to bed and can't find it now
Same way you clean any other piece of fabric? I fill a big bowl with water and a little laundry detergent and soak my straps for a bit, then rinse them and hang them to cry. You could also just ask your mom to throw them in the wash with the rest of your clothes if you wanted to, I just didn't want the hardware getting scratched or something from bouncing around the washer.
Man, I really wish there was one go to seller of Parnis watches that is completely trust worthy and legit. I dont care if they are fakes, I just want some cheap nice looking automatics.
I've got that band on my mako, if your timex has a red hand I'll bet it will look good
And almost any of the ebay sellers like wangxiaohong or lingling or wtv
Literally 10 seconds of google would tell you that
And before you go but is dey reputable what if dey fucked up muh order or charge me taxes:
1) QC is hit and miss
2) they label it at low value so you don't get jewed on taxes
3) shipping from chinkland will take. A while deal
I think it will look good since the Timex is all-white. Anyway, gonna wait for the watch to arrive and then i'll order the strap. Yours look awesome anon, keep it up.
Is this a two-piece band strap or a one-piece?
Realized that this >>47521551 is actually not a Timex Weekender and it's in fact an Timex Camper white.
one piece, pretty sure all nato's and zulu's are a single piece for ease of installation and to have a layer of nylon between your wrist and the case backing
so long as it has spring bars (and even my $10 chinese watches do) you'll be fine given the nato is the right width
Need to punch a few more holes in the fairly shitty leather due to a terminal case of faggot wrist syndrome, but not a bad watch for $10.
Why aren't there any autists in this thread or people who has something between their teeth. I mean, this is much more pleasing to browse this thread than guts or /bst/. This is more like enthusiasts versus critics.
>tfw can't afford nice watches and cheap ones are usually trash.
I'm kind of interested in getting a Steinhart ocean one, but I keep hearing that the Squale 20 atmos is better somehow. I hate the logo on the Squale and the dial printing is apparently much lower quality, so in what way exactly does it make the Steinhart look cheaper by comparison?
Also why does nobody make a no-date sub homage? Cyclopses are disgusting and I would rather have a lumed 3:00 marker instead of a date window. I don't like the Steinhart OVM or ocean vintage though because the fake patina colored lume looks dumb.
I have a CMD-40 and a DBC62, just keep going through ebay until one pops up. I got both of mine for dirt cheap, though the CMD as it turned out once it arrived had seen better days.
man am I glad the seller I was gonna get that from ran out of stock and I got a refund. That thing's wears like a wall-clock. Should have got the "women's" version anon.
I think you overestimate how many people ever buy another strap for their watch.
My latest vintage purchase. I love the dual crown, internal bezel look.
Going to get a perlon for it, but I need to wait until it arrives so I can measure the lug width.
don't know why you don't like the Squale, I think the 50 Atmos is one of the best divers you can get right now. Steinhart looks like a Rolex, so if you think that looks good then all the power to you, but personally I prefer the Squale far, far more.
just to support my statement. the matte steel finish is the best look, imho. they also have it lovely in blue
It's very nice looking, but yeah I like the classic sub look and especially the ref. 14060. I just don't really want to deal with researching and buying fakes and shipping stuff from China so I'm looking at really blatant homages instead.
