>you don't know what a netbook is
>Apple doesn’t specifically address the logo, but with the tight constraints on both thickness and battery life – Apple needs to get 9+ hours off of a 39.7Wh battery driving a 12” Retina display – I suspect Apple finally sacrificed the logo to further save on power.
This is bullshit, the logo on the other laptops is lit up by the same LEDs that light up the display backlight.
That's surely was a "bright" idea
Dell XPS 13 is better than this fad in any perceivable way. Now that there is an official Linux version available, too, there is literally not a single argument you have for picking the Air over the XPS 13.
I never said I wanted it, I just pointed out a factual error in the review.
Since battery life wasn't the reason for Apple to remove the glowing, perhaps it means they're getting a bit of sense.
I never said you wanted it either.
It's just that the bit you quoted shows there's apparently a considerable number of people upset that their new device is not made to be an advertisement billboard.
le does everyone hate macs and love pc master race!!!!!!!

I must be the only person that misses the old plastic Macbook and prefers plastic over muh aluminium unibody and glass.
You're not alone. A lot of people miss the old MacBook, and the older apple products, from before everything was sterile milled aluminum. Back when there was some joy in their world, and not just obscene profits.
How would they make it significantly thinner than the macbook anyway?
They'd have to ditch the physical keyboard and ports altogether at which point they might as well put an Atom chip in an ipad and ship it with OS X.
>Intel requires too much energy for portable devices.
Plenty of Atom powered Windows 8.1 tablets have come out recently.
Yeah they're still not as efficient as ARM, but one more architecture iteration and maybe one more process shrink and the difference will be negligible.
Who said anything about exclusive software?
It's all about the trackpad gestures, *nix base and overall nice to use system.
Far less issues than Linux and Windows while being far more flexible than Windows.
