More expensive motherboards usually come with better power management circuitry, which is essential for overclocking.
They might also have features that their cheaper counterparts lack, more ports, two bios chips, use better components, etc.
Of course, if you're overclocking you'll want to spend over $200 on a mobo anyway.
Fuck cases. I want to run my components free range where they can breath the same air that I do and get the same view of my unkempt room. I just happen to care about their safety because I get a little wild when I jerk off to cartoon horses.
But... why would you? It goes into a case, then under a desk, to be forgotten about. You only ever see it once or twice a year during cleaning. Why would you care what it looks like?
