What's the oldest piece of tech you still use on a day to day basis?
For me it's my zune hd, picked one of these up the day they released and its been my only mp3 player since. For 6 years it's been able to keep up with me.
I'm a photographer and I use a camera from 2005. The camera was $3000 when it came out, so that means the image quality is still pretty decent for a full frame camera.
The 3000 dollar camera of today is better, but I get by. The 5d is a solid workhorse.
Technically still my brother's but he left it at this house after he left.
Lol my Sony NEX-3N I paid $120 for shits all over my 5D in terms of image quality. Paid $200 for my 5D and regret it other than the fact it's worth about $450 on eBay~
Op I still have my ZuneHD that I rock. I FUCKING LOVE THE USER INTERFACE! One of the reasons I haven't been able to get rid of it too is because of that aluminum case. I literally slammed this thing in a door, and its the only device that has survived this long.... why can't they make phones with the same rigidity? ):
My arcade machine, running a Dell Inspiron 8400 for MAME
This still counts as technology, i still wear my old Raketa watch from time to time.
Made in the late sixties in Leningrad is i recall correctly.
My PC that has an AMD CPU at 1Ghz, 128MB GPU, 40GB HDD, 1.5GB RAM.
Works Ok with Windows 7 and I use it mostly for testing software or fixing other computers. Also run's Linux but it's shit at running it can't even run a movie that doesn't lag like hell, while on Win 7 it works ok.
This with Rockbox if I don't feel like using Pandora
Koss PortaPros, 1st generation, purchased in 1986
Sony V6 1st generation, purchased in 1986
Cross Century Classic pen, purchased in 1987
Those are the oldest pieces of tech that I own and use pretty much every day.
A soldering station from my father which he bought in '84 - it just werks

Most of my shit is old and hard-used cause i'm too poor/cheap to replace it. I have replaced my netbooks ram, LCD, keyboard and swapped in a new minipci card to get internal bluetooth. Its a slow POS(amd c50.) but i am emotionally attached to it now.
I type letters and some assignments with a beige selectric on a typewriter stand built into my desk
hipster as fuck but faster than printing tbh, not to mention that based '60s solid IBM logo
I guess I also have some old calculators and a 486DX2/66 shitbox I use for file archiving
The very iMac I'm typing from right now. Bought mid 2008.
Though it appears my Trackman Wheel was released in 2001, so maybe that.
whenever I visit my grandmother she still had one of those tv's with the knobs to switch channels at this point it's kind of cool actually.
