Hey guys, need a little advise. I'm going to give a course on Photoshop next week. I do know how to use Photoshop and all but I really don't know how to explain basics or what do people want to know that is basic.
Could you guys help me with some pointers on what to teach them?
I'd highly recommend going over smart objects. I've worked with graphic designers more experienced than me who had no idea how to use smart objects for non-destructive editing or creating templates.
Layers, blending options, styles, adjustment layers, applying smart filters to smart objects. I think that's all golden info for working with files that may need adjusting later without having to start over.

Does anyone here pay for the monthly subscription?
I can't seem to wrap my brain around the concept.
I've been in the industry for 15+ years, and have grown to loath adobe. They are notorious for not fixing bugs, and instead introduce lackluster features that introduce more issues. They bought out all of their competition and trashed their software.
It seems the main selling point of CC is that it's always being updated... with adobe's history, that sounds terrifying. And the adobe forums seem to prove my fears with every update they... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
What would look better on a video website: >dark grey navbar, light-grey header, yellowish green background, dark grey buttons >red navbar, light-grey header, very pale grey background, red buttons
My mom (she's an artist) says that the first one would look much better, while I (a webdev) believe that the second one is far, far better. Who's right? >Telling the designer exactly what to design Go entirely fuck yourself, like take your entire body and put it up inside of your body and fuck yourself with it.
No shit a logo should be simple. And whatever imagery you think would represent your company, any solid designer will absolutely know better.
Don't waste your money or any of these fuckers time. You don't want a designer, you want somebody who knows Illustrator and will do whatever you want. Take the twenty bucks you were so generously "willing" to pay... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Do you have a sock fetish? I like all that you did here, though I'd make the top vertical part of the socks a little shorter, make the socks slightly wider, and I'd also put a half circle thing on where the heel would be, since socks usually have that, and it would match the toe part. Also, the two cameras that have a visible camera lens doesn't look like a lens, it shouldn't match the background of everything else, possibly put a black circle or something where there would be the camera lens. Besides that, it all looks impressive.
"the" is riding too high "feast" and the "s" have an uncomfortable negative space relationship. Logo looks OK but cannot be represented in 1 color effectively. Kerning on "feast" is super tight and bad. Logo currently relies on a blue BG, with a non-color BG (white) the copy would be black or the darker green, what does it look like? You posted a small image but even with a limited view the color transitions in the logo look inconsistent in width.
