223 KB,
I'm designing a poster for my brothers guitar lessons.

How would you improve this / what would you ad to make this look more professional?

Thanks

maybe a bit more playful with the typeface.
like give the word guitar some handdrawn or some swing. give that guitar a nice dropshadow and maybe a pickboard. make the guitar look more cool. kids want to learn guitar because they like rock. so play with that in the typeface and the symbol.
>>
>>261014
- use a real high quality stock photo of a guitar (even better if the photo has some cool background for example some electric guitar cables or amps)
- make the word GUITAR more interesting (try different fonts for example -pic related)
- align the text at the center and use kerning/spacing/grids for each line of text
- and remember to leave some room on the sides/edges.

Yes, although its focus is more on the painting side than photo-manipulation.

For me, it does everything I would normally do in PS (and some things it does better), and there is no question that it blows the other free alternatives available out of the water by a huge margin (e.g. GIMP) with features like animation, CMYK (and other colorspaces), HDR/high-bit-depth, OpenColorIO integration, a nice brush-engine, etc
>>
Massive potential, and immensely better than GIMP.

Yeah, so basically I can design some logos, websites and shit pretty well. Do you guys know any place where I can find customers except DesignCrowd? I mean, it's pretty fucked up place. Basically, I need some 50 dollars for my collage and wanted to design something fast bc that's the only thing I'm good at and can get me some money. Thanks.

hey /gd/
I need a little help...

for my advertising class i need to design T-shirt graphics and put them on a model in Photoshop
but im having a bit of a problem with making it look like it really on it. Especially on black T-shirts.

I got few different pictures of models wearing shirts. my design works well on 1 of them when i put on Color Dodge blending mode. but the rest is terrible.
I think the 1 that sorta works has to do something with it being IEC instead of RBG but im not sure (it keeps saying its a IEC every time i try to import a image)

you...

i dont have a clear design yet but its space themed so thats why i need it on a black t shirt and just now i was experimenting some more and i think i came out with a good solution.

i noticed that what makes the graphic look real is the wrinkles and the shadows of the shirt. since no blending mode works right. i selected the shirt. made inverted it than multiplied on TOP of the graphics to give that wrinkles and highlights...

but here is 1 of the designs at the moment that "works" with color dodge
>>
>>260930
Decrease flow instead of opacity when you mask the edges. Warp the picture a little. Duplicate tshirt layer above graphic and mask to accentuate the shadows and highlights

How to make an album cover for a rap artist(not gangsta), his music is more like advices forma life or something
3 replies and 1 images submitted. Click here to view.

If this is for a real rapper they probably wont appreciet the fact that their face isnt on the cover. I kinda get what youre going for but clients love to make sure people know who they are. Plus there is no title on it or logo for who the rapper is and clients will bitch all day about wanting the logo bigger (of course I dont literally tell them they are bitching) but for reals this would not work irl imo without changes.

I think he's just asking for advice, I don't think that picture is one he's using.

My advice: don't make album art before you've listened to the album. Draw your inspiration from there.

dont forget to save it as a file that supports transparency too.

Just open it in photoshop and change the blend mode to screen or add, then put it back in illustrator and vectorize it and export as png

Hey /gd/ I come to you guys in a time of need.

I entered a contest on another site. Someone submitted pic related and I know for a fact I've seen this design before, and it's not original. Google image search and tineye can't find it, but I know I've seen it before.

Shouldn't the "code of conduct" here be to help another anon? Plagiarism is a lot worse than bumping a post, especially when this faggot could win money off stolen work.

It's like any other skill.

The more you do it and the more you analyze/study the work of other great logo designers the better you will get at it.

I came across a logo I had made 5 years ago and laughed because it was such shit. Now I get paid $500 a day to crank out decent (not great) logos. I'm thinking 5 years from now I'll be pretty good.

Also, another tip: good logo design is more about knowing what not to do rather than knowing what to do.

Hi /gd/, getting really tired of taking photos of my sketches, sending them over, getting bad resolution, weird proportions etc.

So I ask, what is/are the best scanners that petty coins will get me. As cheap + good as possible please.

24 KB,
Right now I am sitting and doing pixelart tilesets á la Gameboy style in Photoshop. And something happened. I don't know if I touched a button of some kind or if something happened when my computer died for lack of power.

The problem is that my cursor is off. Somehow when I pain the pixels some pixelspots don't get filled, and Have to do drastic movements to find the spot that regieters where the pixel is. And most of the time it is not even on the pixel itself.
It seems to be whole vertical pixel lines that are hard to paint on.

I really don't...

I'm going to start with something painfully obvious, but have you maybe altered brush settings? Are you using a tablet? , do you need to play about with tablet config?, if not save, restart the computer. Are you using a 'shit' tablet.. shit mouse? is it a hardware or software problem. ^^
>>
i didn't even understand the question.
It's possible you're using a brush while you should be using a pencil.
>>
You probably adjusted your grid size by accident, unless you are using the native 1x1 pixel grid.

Try turning off snapping of any kind, especially snapping to grid.

If your cursor graphic itself changed, caps lock can toggle between a generic tool icon and an accurate crosshair mode.

I am making a logo for a project to visually represent it. We are building a cage and making art in it for 7 days.
This is my first attempt, it reads "KUNST IM KÄFIG" in the bars.

Things I already know about:
It is supposed to be hard to read.
The logo doesn't have to work in monochromatic.
Some of you hate gradients, so do I most of the time, but I think it works in this case.

i think there's a rule somewhere about not using the text inside of the logo. anyways here's some ideas:

- make the lines thinner on top
- add the little circle on top so it would look more like a cage (is it a cage right?)
- don't use color until you have finish (it helps seeing the balance/negative spaces)
- the font doesn't help
