The South as a socio-political and cultural entity is very interesting to me. For one, it was an aristocratic regime in all but name, styled similarly to the Ancien Regime of the European Old World, with plantation owners being aristocrats, and a caste system much more rigidly enforced than that of the North, thanks to the agricultural and sharecropping nature of the Southern states.
I feel bad for the South/Confederacy: in the end, the capitalist/industrial North used the issue at hand (slavery) as an excuse to eliminate the aristocratic influence of the Southern states...

High-school kid here, I have to disagree. I recently did the civil war section in music US history class and it definitely covered how sucky southern citizen life was like.
Would you argue that southern presidents and friends, such as Davis and stephens, could only be in that position if an aristocrat? Davis is your prime example of a southern guy who is probably slave owner, but look at Lee and stephens. Although reluctant for slavery, they still had powerful positions in the Confederate government. Stephens even disagreed with almost all of Davis' ideals, and after...

Why did the crusades all fail?
The Muslims were fighting in their backyard, the Europeans were fighting at the very edge of their reach.
Still, they succeeded in being pretty entertaining, and if I'm remembering things properly, the ensuing debt led to the First Baron's War and the Magna Carta.
Is their anyway, that Rhodesia could still be a country post 1979? Would a higher White Population insure this? I know that Southern Rhodesia Only let in certain number of people in a year, so would increased white Immigration make Rhodesia White Population be around 10-16% like Apartheid South Africa?
If those communist bastards in Lisbon wouldn't kick Caetano out of office it'd be no problem. ZANU and ZAPU were hilariously incompetent - the status quo of the war in the mid-70s could easily be handled by the RSF, provided they had that link to the outside world through Mozambique.
Hell, imagine them making it until Reagan and Thatcher made it.
Ireland: Useless keks to whoever wanted them. No real achievements, no reknowned kings or warriors, nothing noteworthy other than someone noteworthy pushing their shit in.
Can you prove me wrong, /his/?
3D Video games wouldn't exist and physics would have been held back if it wasn't for a single Irishman.
If you dont know who that is, you should go back and study your significant Irish figures.
Why are there so many Slavs in modern day Europe?
It seems like they came out of nowhere. How would the dense forests and marshes in modern day eastern Poland and western Belarus support such a mass population of Slavs, who would later flood and dominate all of Eastern Europe?
How were they able to overpower the more culturally advanced Byzzies and Germanic confederations?
>How were they able to overpower the more culturally advanced Byzzies and Germanic confederations?
Greeks and Germans were too busy to full scale colonize the slaivc lands, so the slavs could let civilization seep into their lands without having to submit.
What would have been the most effective means of preventing scurvy during the age of sail had they actually understood the cause? Citrus fruits wouldn't keep for long voyages.
Its June 22, 1941, your Adolf Hitler. How do you change operation Barbarossa to make it a German victory.
We all agree that Richard Nixon/Tricky Dick was a good president, right?
1. Yes, he was a paranoid alko and that did lead to the poor bastard's downfall.
2. He was a liberal.
Jimmy Carter's administration had to invite him to some White House thing because he was good friend's with Mao.
Reading the conversations between Kissinger/Nixon/Mao/Zhou Enlai is quite marvelous. They talk of Hegel, Winter War, invasion of Taiwan, nuclear war and dismantling USSR in perfect calamity.
Who'd win in a all-vs-all fight, a samurai, a Roman centurion or a crusader?
Go back to History Channel with your juvenile questions you monumental faggot.
OK, lads. Nobody get up until we've all solved this.
Linear A produces gibberish when assumed to be the same as Linear B. This is why people think it's Minoan (Or at least Wikipedia says so).
But has anyone checked to see if that gibberish is consistent with Indo-European in some form or another?
The Massagetae shared their wives, the pre-islamic arabs used to let their wives get pregnant by a higher status male for eugenic reasons, assyrian women were obliged to prostitute themselves at least once in their lifetime and minoan women wore clothes that let their breasts visible.
What were the most sexually deviant cultures /his/ ?
Does philosophy in today's world have any practical value or has it just become another way to entertain the mind? Does it make our lives easier?
Roman style Stoicism is valuable.
Both for yourself (it has a better strategy for happiness than our culture does) and for society (more virtuous people, less pleasure seeking).
Modern philosophy is mostly useless. I don't think anything done in the last century is of much value.
It'll be useful once philosophy cuts off the academically incestuous tumor that is Marxist/the cult of Social Justice.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in Japan. They cut funding to the humanities department of their universities. I predict an upsurge of thinkers who can actually think as opposed to spitting Dworkin's cunt juice everywhere.
You're ottoman sultan in the early 17th century and you feel as if shit is hitting the fan as corruption is everywhere and the military is complacent and becoming backward , what do you do to save the empire ?
Is Praxeology really as bullshit as non-Austrian Economic Schools make it sound like?
Do other schools of thought in social sciences employ similar deductive methods?
who are the most important thinkers for the 21st century?
