What's your Alt.Hist wet dream?
Erwin Rommel get's captured on that idiot charge during Crusader and I don't have to hear people saying how amazing he was ever again, he'd just be some damp squib that is a brief footnote in military history.
This is America in 1776. How the hell did they get access to the west coast?
Would you consider the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki war crimes?
Anyone who says it is a warcrime is usually a rabid america hater or a soviet junkie. Japs were willing to fight to the death both the US and the USSR because even if in reality their other terms of surrender weren't really feasible anyway, they were truly suicidal about their status of the Emperor. If anything the nuke strikes spared not only American lives, but Chinese and Russian lives as any Soviet-Japanese war would've been just as devastating. And the communists would have never have kept the emperor in power.
Was he right?
No, a right Christian is driven by love, Luther was driven exclusively by spite and did the Devil's work.
Yes, christianity was originally a spiritual doctrine, Jesus himself advocated selling all your posessions, that was a way of showing that, in order to follow him you don't need any worldy things such as altars or sacrificies or special rituals or icons. One-ness with god comes from within, by the spirit, through the word of the son aka Jesus.
The Catholic Church had strayed from the teachings of Jesus and was only interested in money, idol worship, pagan traditions, sex with their sisters and, as it turns out, sex with little children as well (although Luther was not aware of the latter).
All Catholics will burn in Hell for their heresy against The Lord. So will the Orthodox for refusing to believe the Bible.
What does /his/ think of this borderline prophetic masterpiece?
Not as good as this actual prophetic masterpiece.
What's up with all the communist sympathizers within western humanities?
I can understand in the 40s and 50s, but wouldn't they learn after communism turned into a colossal failure?
I thought academics were supposed to be smart.
Because Communism in practice, if not quite in theory (It being only an intermediate stage) posits a sort of government in which intellectuals such as themselves wield all the power on behalf of the proletariat masses.
In 30's intellectuals and by extension - left wing politicians shifted from more or less independent socialist/communist parties to be NKVD(later KGB) stooges. The interest of USSR was the interest of left wing intellectuals and parties. With the labour unions being taken over by fascism it turned into circlejerk up to the point where reasonable people like Orwell had easier time being praised by right wingers than being praised by other left wingers like themselves.
USSR died but in the beginning the stooges...

Why isn't the Ottoman Empire considered the Third Rome?
Because the Byzantines themselves were barely even Roman anymore by 1453. The senate (the S in SPQR) had ceased to exist even in name for over a century by the time the Turks knocked down the door.
>tfw just finished watching a Crash Course on the Dark Ages by John Green
Iktf op, he's one of the best historians out there. It's a shame people on this board are so adamant defending backwards European legacies like the Dark Ages (not to mention slavery and other white plights).
I just absolutely love these photographs and I like it even more when there is a story behind them. If it doesn't take too much time for you guys I'd like some dumps with story.
I always liked this one. The priest didn't care who he was, only that the man asked for his last rites in his final moments.
I always saw it as a soldier running to the priest, overwhelmed by something. I say that because of his position, kneeling and clutching him, it almost looks like he's just having a breakdown. the priest, to me, just looks like he isn't sure what to do, like he's looking around for some other soldiers or something.
How or where can I learn more about the US constitution, its practice and the philosophy behind it?

Why is the Median empire not considered the first Persian empire?
Because the Medes are ethnically and culturally distinct from the Persians despite controlling roughly the same territory. That's like asking why the Seleucid Empire isn't considered the second Persian Empire, or why the Ottoman Empire isn't considered the Third Rome.
Again, saying they were both Iranic means very little in the Ancient world; that's like calling Thracians and Hittites the same because they were both Anatolian. The Medes were ethnically distinct from the Parsua, spoke a different language, had a different religion, and predominantly lived in a different section of Iran. That really makes them a different people.
What happened in India before the Aryan invasion? Did the Indians look different back then, or was the Aryans a very small minority that did not influence much?
the Aryans were the conquering nordic races that subjugated the more beast-like races of the Indian peninsula. They did not exterminate all the scum, but instead installed a caste system. Even today the Hindu brahmins are much whiter, almost European looking, when in contrast to those castes that collect shit, trash and feces etc.
>the Aryans were the conquering nordic races that subjugated the more beast-like races of the Indian peninsula.
This board has gone to the shitters..
I know that jews, gypsies, ukranians, basically ANYONE who are considered different were persecuted and taken to concentration camps. But how were BLACKS treated by the Nazi regime? Were they treated equally like the whites or where they too persecuted? Cause i heard some were treated fairly and there are even accounts of blacks in the Wehrmacht.
