>>8421 Probably would be shortly defeated because he would be facing the only other as massively centralized empire of the world in their home turf, while months away from their home with a possibly hostile Iranian population on his back fucking with their supply lines.
>>8421 Better question would be who would win between a Roman Legion or one of the armies of the various Chinese dynasties. Asking who would win invasion wise is retarded either way because the geography puts neither close for a practical war.
>>8421 China +greek knowledge would've been a force to reckon with. The chinese never really discovered pythagorean theorem on their own, even though one gay apparently came close but was forgotten more or less.
A funny thing to think about but it'd just never happen. They'd have to travel extremely far on land through lands that don't belong to them. They'd be extremely fatigued before they even got there and even if they weren't, I don't think they'd have the numbers at all.
>>9522 The Mongols travelled to europe and china. If they wanted to it would've been totally possible for the chinese to get here. They even sailed to africa. They just didn't give a fuck though. They were always isolating themselves. I think the more interesting question is what would've happened if the mongols had conquered europe as a whole.
>>9734 They would probably face the same shit as the Romans (supplies, long away from reinforcements etc.) Yeah they could get to The Roman Frontiers in South West Asia, but they wouldn't be able have enough strength to do TOO much to Rome as a whole. Yeah they could totally make it as far as modern day Iran, but they would have a real bad time. I would LOVE to be studying about the Great Sino/Roman wars, but it was never to be.
>>8421 If Rome invaded China, Rome'd lose. If China invaded Rome, China'd lose. There simply was just too much of a distance between them, at different points they separated by at least one country either would have to conquer first, and it would end in just too few resources over too long a distance.
Rome even getting to China would be close to impossible. Getting through Russia before winter would be nearly impossible, going through central Asia, they would be harassed by Steppe Tribes, and through the Middle East and India, they would be attacking by many hostiles and have their supply lines constantly cut off
>>8421 the invasion force would have obliterated a few chinese armies, assuming the romans had time to rest beforehand and still had supplies. after that, attrition would slowly break down the roman force until there was nothing left, it's far too great a distance to keep a supply line running and it can be cut off too easily.
