Critique my cross hatching.
I've been studying this style for about a year now. What do you think? (Bloodborne and Souls stuff)
What methods you guys using to draw torso? build the spine first?
Nowadays I don't really have a really formulaic approach, but a method I found useful was to draw a T with a V on the bottom. The horizontal line om the T represents the top of the torso, the vertical line is the midline and the V shape is either the pubic arch (as if wearing a swimming suit) on the front or the sacrum & tailbone on the back. Those lines are easy to draw in perspective and works in most situations.
A Hampton-style gestural approach, usually with two opposing curves for chest and hips.
Sorry for shit quality.

What (free) software would be the best for digital drawing if im using a Surface 3?
honestly mate, you'd be better off with CSP for a surface. It's built to be more touchscreen friendly, and you can utilize the whole program without hotkeys or a keyboard/mouse, albeit it at a slower pace. All freeware that I've used on my surface 4 read any contact as a stroke, so trying to pan with your fingers results in lines on your work. CSP can pan, pinch and zoom, and rotate with the capacitive sensors and keep the stylus reserved for actual pen work.
Skeme is a shitty and untalented graffiti writer.
I am so sick of how many people look up to this guy, he sucks arse only painted trains for a year back in 1984 and talks like he knows everything about graffiti.
People just believe all this guys shit because of the style wars documentary he was in.
If it wasnt for that people would realise how dumb the shit he says is.
>niggers cant even draw badly without turning it into a criminal activity
What do you guys think about my newest drawing?Rate the level of creepiness.Need some feedback and critique on it.
i should probably be posting this on /gd/, but i want to know
i'll be starting a post-secondary graphic design course in the fall, and i was wondering how important is it to know how to draw well for that course? if so, what books should i read up on and study?

As usual I will gladly accept any suggestions about what could be added and changed about the text and links from the current OP.
I'm not sure if this is the correct board for this, it might be /r, but i need help gridding an image i am trying to draw on a 12x12 square canvas. Any tips or anyone willing to grid this photo for me? Thanks a ton, and sorry if wrong board but its art related.
>history remembers the impressionists instead of pic related
why does the art world -- the critics, curators, and connoisseurs -- value concept over skill and technique?
Do you have any idea how many people can draw some boring uninspired hyper-realistic white lady? Do you have any idea how long and grating art history classes would be if we talked about them all?
Tell me which one is better.

Artists on youtube, instagram, etc. that you just consider bad, or unable to progress.
I feel like quitting art /ic/.
Been trying to get good for about a year and was wondering why I'm not getting good. I read some advice from Feng Zhu school student to time how much you are wasting.
Start to time. I thought I was doing 5 hours a day of art, when I started to time I was wasting 4 hours doing nothing.
I was thinking maybe I should just do something else. How do you even concentrate.

>Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
>If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then hug a kitten for good luck.

KoK thread. Draw a character like this one (a kok) in a basic paint program, and send kok. Make sure your kok looks as awful and terribly drawn as example. Happy koks.
Where can you buy this? Seems sold out every where
What is /ic/'s opinion on Ateliers?
I found one recently, London Atelier of Representational Art (lara) as well as one in Florence. I'm not sure of any United States ones, but do you think they are worth it? Like if I spent a year doing the fundamental classes again (somewhat) post-artschool, do you think it would only be beneficial?
Or are they all talk, with no real application to the entertainment industry but rather more gallery work?
I've been going to an atelier full time for about a year now and it was definitely worth it for me, since i wanted to learn how to do representational art. If your looking to improve your observation skills and technical abilities then its just for you. However it doesn't help you much with drawing or painting from your imagination
They're decent schools but only if you want to learn a very narrow approach. When it comes to learning skills for the entertainment industry you are much better off self teaching or using online courses, or if you can afford art school then go to a good program like Art Center. Industrial design is probably not a bad thing to study either if there is nothing near you.
As I get better, more and more art looks shitty to me.
I'm not sure how to feel about this.
The next step is getting good enough where you get past the childish elitism phase and more and more art will start looking good to you where you previously thought it was pretty mediocre.

opinions / critiques on the doodle?
Thanks a bunch
woah, calm down no need for aggresive replies xD
I don't usually go sketchy, that's why I call this a 'doodle'
This shit is the cure for sameface. Please read once ur done with loomis/villpu/hampton and all that classical shit. Thoughts?
There's some good caricature that emphasizes distinct features, but most people just produce the same garbage that looks like some idiot opened up the photoshop warp tool and arbitrarily changed the size of certain facial features.
Hes goes into depth on adjusting facial structure to create variation and this is what makes it so good.
digital painting I made. It's inspired in the artwork of René Magritte.
I decided to look up ateliers in San Fransisco and the first results consisted mainly of hipster stores trying to be edgy by using French words
because Asians who haven't been made into SJWs actually have a good taste in art
Let me see you guys attempt on these two, if you dont feel confident enough i can personaly critique you on kik, its jessicajester500
Who's your current favorite artist and why?
Could I get some criticism on this broadcast intrusion video that I made? It's supposed to emulate the style of the Max Headroom incident
This is a SUPER recent study that I did. Opinions?
ive responded to way too many posts like this today!
please read the sticky, and post in the beginner thread. by posting this you have made yourself vulnerable to many a troll, and its also kind of irritating to see more shit threads, wanting /ic/s opinion on something that really doesn't deserve a response, so if you get some hate or major trollage.... don't say i didnt warn ya!
is this considered shit?
Hello people of /ic/ I have a question
what is the style of this artwork and what is it done with
I think it's markers on paper.
Kind of reminds me of some Andrea Pazienza's works.
