The entry-level Kindle fire is on sale for $40. I know it won't be anywhere near as good as a real drawing tablet, but are there good apps/usable capability for drawing? Has anyone used it for that? I'm not thinking of buying it for drawing (mostly to read foreign graphic novels and have recipes out while cooking) but this would be a cool feature to have to dip my toes in digital drawing and more easily share sketches, because I have no experience with digital art or digital drawing tools, all pen and paper for me.
Thanks bros, and no need to point out that it is shit compared to a Wacom or whatever, I have no expectations of an extremely high quality experience.
I've had mine for a couple of years and it's still working pretty well. It's similar to an entry level wacom device, but cheaper.
I know you probably want to "look" at what you're drawing like you're used to and may not like staring at your computer's screen while you draw, but you get used to it fairly quickly. No sense in buying a cintiq or something unless you're already experienced (why would you buy a $2000+ guitar if you're just learning how to play?)
Read the sticky for more info in tablets. Good luck.
>>2388954 I guess the best thing is that he'll only get money from patreon or views/ads since he doesn't do commissions and would be completely useless in a studio/firm. So, atleast he doesn't have any real impact other than impressing normies.
>>2388695 Get some rest anon, try to stay away from the computer screen, it can give you a headache or make you feel more crappy. If you want to draw just pick up a pencil and do traditional until you feel like your usual self again :)
Is there such a thing has a bob ross of portraits? I painted along with him for a couple of episodes and was very happy with the results. You quickly understand how dark and light interact to create the exact shape he's looking for. I then tried to make a female head but was still stuck in a loop of "this is too dark/light" and blending everything together, not knowing where to put the sharp lines of dark and light.
The 25 minute format is also very fun to follow because of how quick he is. You're working on something different every 2 minutes so it's... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
cool that you're experimenting with digital effects, maybe try out a really rigourous discipline like drawing or photography so you can understand how to construct meaningful images instead of just adding an affectation and expecting praise
I've been drawing since I was 10-ish and even then I noticed my hands shook uncontrolably. I have since refined my art to mask the problem, but my art is such a scratchy mess. Is there any way to at least help with this? I want to be able to draw a decent line without looking like Michael J Fox took over my tablet.
-practice placing two dots on a page and drawing a straight line between them, going over that same line several times, gradually moving from a few inches to all the way across the page. Make parallel lines at different angles
-maybe get a brush pen or a think black pen when you draw. You only get one line so you have to make it count.
>>2388464 From my own experiences, scratchy, fuzzy or just generally unrefined line work comes from a combination of not having a full understanding of what you're trying to draw (could you envision every form and detail?) and a lack of confidence and control of your ability to make marks.
Get some pens and try traditional medium for a while and like the other anon said do some drills and exercises in making lines and when it comes time to work on something every stroke should be deliberate and planned. It will take... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
