>>2598308 To be able to physically create the ideas in my head and that it's. It's literally a basic skill that I need to progress in life. Everyone can understand an image, it's creating the image that requires a ton of shit behind it.
I loved to draw in kindergarten-first grade. It was fun. I could put all the ideas in my head down that I didn't have the capacity to do through writing then. I made little comic booklets. I would doodle in class in elementary school to pass time, but I just wanted to make pretty faces; I scarcely drew stories during those years. I rediscovered drawing when I was 14 after reading Naruto. I wanted to be able to draw comics like the manga artists, so then acquiring a skill that the people I admired possessed was important to me. I would practice every day and I vastly improved.... >>2598866 As far as I can tell, it'll be an 8-10 hour job. And was thinking $200-$250 depending on changes and shit. But the dude was concerned about image rights (like dude, you're not alibaba and you will not print or distribute the image in any sort that generates money, I'm basically selling you an illustration). It kinda made me wonder if I was underchanrging drastically.

How to be satisfied with a work. Whenever i draw or create music i have this idea in my head of how it should go, i also have high expectations. Along the way i always destroy because of frustration. How do i fix.
There are good books/guides to start doing portraits? I'm thinking to start with drawing heads and hands by Loomis, but I want to know if there are better options to start with the fundamentals. Simply copying references over and over seems kinda stupid.
>>2588059 Idk man. I think the only way is to do just that. Draw a shit ton of portraits from reference and from your head. That being said, I could be wrong. I am not as good as the quality of work you linked.
>>2600774 good rule of thumb, if you feel like you're lacking in something, study it. in the beginning when you don't know shit it doesn't matter what order you study them or if you study them at the same time, as long as you get around to doing them both eventually
I have these pendants I have been painting and I need to sell some to buy more supplies (the saga of the artist). But I have no idea how much to price them for or where would be best to sell them. I am in the US and open to ideas.
The wave & mountain pendants you have on your instagram are better executed than this one OP, so maybe not the best example piece if you're looking to sell.
Your best bet is to look on Etsy to see how people price their charms & pendants, and price yourself accordingly 2bh https://www.etsy.com/search/handmade?q=painted+pendant Keep material costs in mind too, but don't do it so much as to where you undersell yourself.
Another thing is quality control. Don't just use a bunch of cheap ass craft paint on some shitty key ring and call it... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Thank you for the advice. And thank you for the link. This will help quite a bit.
As to which of my pendants are better then others, that just goes to show how varied people's tastes can be. I thought this was the best, and I am my own worst critic. But that just means I need to broaden my horizons and paint different things if I want to attract a wide audience, I guess.
>>2598564 desu it's just the clouds that really throw off the overall pendant; seems to be that they are more pronounced and popping off the object. The cliffs are actually the best part of that BECAUSE of that 3D aspect, so maybe it has to do with the opacity of the clouds? The sun also has its issues, but minor ones regarding blending out. OP do you do "thumbnails" (sketching out small images) on canvas/paper before you attempt to paint on the metal?
Painting small scale on actual objects is a hassle,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2596955 I know your right. It really sucks though because there's all these cool possibilities and new techniques with digital that I want to use but I'm interested in the fine art world not the entertainment industry. Maybe I should switch over to graphic design or something.
Have you successfully found job as a freelancer for a quick buck off your work yet? what's the fastest way you've gotten hired/commissioned for one? what are your personal experiences with the whole "making money with your art" thing?
Yes, I am absolutely going to take advantage of your responses, of course. And many others too, probably.
>>2598873 why final image doesn't look like having a brown skin? rather, purplish blue. If I understood right, that creature has brown skin. because base color is brown. is it because blue light is strong?
>>2598920 It's the power of layers, anon. You put all those layers in the respective modes and monster magic happens, in this case I guess the most important ones are the purple multiply layer and blue screen layer.
>>2597944 Reminds me of this ugly as fuck ink drawing on some cardboard my brother did to be outright bad looking.
He set it at the stairway for days and it would catch everyone's eye as soon as they hit it. It infuriated my mom and sis that tried to be supportive and tolerate it until they had enough just to find out he sat it there to fuck with them.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1) >screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method)
#2) >change... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
It's pretty common, yes. It's natural for images produced with a real-life reference to look better than stuff produced without. That's why there is so much emphasis on studying references. As your skill increases, there could well be less of a gap, but all the old masters used life models.
>>2596537 Well there's super pose books, or just take a few minutes out of your day to save pictures from figure drawing sits and then unplug your router. I've done this, used to be in the same boat as you, needing to unplug my router to not distract myself.
Do you draw people in public? Are there certain rules you should follow? Has anyone ever got offended at you for rdrawing them? Anyone appreciate it? I want to draw on the bus because it lets me get better in that down time, but im worried of coming across as a weirdo.
>>2599597 Thanks for asking. I dont believe its coincidence that I made this after two weeks of not spending time with friends and family. I didnt intend on placing a spade in the center when I had the idea a week ago. I didn't know what to call it until this morning. But I think it completely reflects my state of mind. I havent made a piece of art since middle school.
After visting /adv/ and /fa/, I'm coming here for advice senpais
After three years of thinking about it, I finally decided to start tattooing myself, and I have gained a weird fascination with characters (especially animals) from old children's books (pic related, which will be my first).
Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with research in this branch of art, and I was wondering if you could give me pointers for books, drawings and art styles I should look out for desu I'm quite /fit/ so I don't have the issue of making tattoos... I'm no artist, picture attached is an example of a placeholder character graphic for a game I'm making called ConsolePilot. I would be commissioning artists per work, this is to be discussed more later. I'm also working on a rpg maker game (rpg maker mv), I will need a gritty sci-fi anime cg and pixel capable artists for that project as well. I am launching a new development community for these two titles and future projects.
Pay will be good and royalties for an artists share in profit are negotiable. Legal work would be expected as we neared release of... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
