How does Stock Image Photos affects us? I keep having undecided subconscious (I think) images of some sort of template of how certain things should be... which disturbs me. And those images def has strong visual connotations to Stock Image Photos seen in advertisment and online. Thoughts?
I made a thread on /r9k/ about this and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this. It's some free mason illuminati shit that conditions you to what a 'perfect' life should look like. Stock images is a weapon for the mind invented for this sole purpose.
Completely! I'm just wondering how subconsciously we accumulate it to the point where it becomes a (undecided, undeliberate) choice of visual archive? Like, "generation stock image manipulators". 90s and forward...
Guess each generation has its visual template to deal with wheter you are aware of it or not.
>>2375626 I just feel like whenever someone who comes here that doesn't know what they're doing, they'll hear "loomis" and be shit on Also, now you can't even ask for someone's blog unironically without being claimed to be a shitposter. And, maybe its just me, but now i have this really unheatlhy view of art now that ive been here for awhile.
Can we talk about how to pull a Noah Bradley, and make money with art despite being an objectively shit artist?
How to gain a following, build social media presence, have people pay 500$ for signed MtG playmats with my art on it, and other outlandish shit that comes with the territory.
Hard mode: Don't feel like whoring out my dignity and self respect by doing juvenile homosexual cringeworthy shit like Ross Tran or Kienan Laferty (or whatever, I'm not looking him up). They are cool guys and deserve every follower they got, but in my case I cannot make... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2375337 What works for me is, instead of drawing something and polishing it, I draw the thing I want to draw with minimal detail, usually smaller too. Then I draw it again changing what doesn't feel right, and then again until I can feel good about it. Then I polish it. Even if it's polished shit, I know I tried my best to elevate it from being shit before polishing.
it's fucking ugly, unless you have it in your studio to display/store your personal art prints because you have so many (even then, I'm not convinced) just downsize your collection or store some and rotate them out occasionally.
I don't know about artists, painters or sculptors but I like art and I watched a youtube video dissing modern art for being garbage, pretentious and complaining about how stupid it is. I just don't agree, I think they're looking at art by how long it takes to make it / how much effort is put into making it instead of just letting themselves feel it. I definitely see why most people would think it's stupid, and I am going to sound pretentious but they really just can't understand it. Probably because THEY are the ones too far up their own ass to appreciate... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I went to art school for 5 years so I've kindof gotten a taste of what it would be like to be in the mindset and setting of a flaky gallery artist. I think it would actually be really interesting to be into modern art or the gallery scene in general. Looking form the outside in modern art seems like the dumbest most pointless thing in the world... and it is... but being in that world is a whole different story. There's a constant development of concepts and people all over the world are participating in it... It sounds neat actually.
Modern art is like memes,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
