This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make stylized work in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.

>>2367599 bg line art is competing with midground control line weight with coherence or you're communicating things wrong, so, if you keep linework, keep bg with hinner lines than fg
It's going nice, but I'm sad that you didn't exploit the opportunity of having a model for yourself, that pose is shit
body language communicates too, that pose is boring, if you don't push your models they will only stand there, art is about contrasts, there's none right there, even hips and shoulders are paralels,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I am currently employed full time (working 9-5 but wake up at 7am and get home bam6pm due to transportation). It's not a very strenuous job but by the time I get home every day I am utterly pooped. I have been trying to do my studies but if it's not the weekend I am so slowed down. I just got home not too long ago and I just want too crash... but I really need to keep practicing. I want to get 3 contour drawings done but I also want to sleep. Also gotta cook.
Are there ways you guys deal with burning out? How do you motivate yourself to get started when you... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2367822 Honestly anon, the answer you are looking for is complicated and simple at the same time. Let me tell you this though, motivation is nothing. It's a waste of time. You need discipline. This isn't that hard if you have the right mindset. Why are you drawing? Really ask yourself that. Be real with yourself and figure it out. If you want to improve asap you will have to sacrifice a lot. This is just a small amount of it but you will have to find your own answer. Good luck.
>>2367822 (OP) Time management; knowing what you can do in a certain period of time. Like what the anon above said, motivation is unreliable, and discipline usually does the job when wanting to improve. Being motivated and disciplined though is the optimal state when you want to learn something.
>>2367817 i literally use these to draw my comics >inb4 wah u use german tools no fair theyre expensive wah i collect made in germany art utensils because of their rarity and status. I'll do fine with made in timor leste pencils and inks. its your skill that decides if youre a good artist or not
I am tired of painting 2-4 coats to find a consistent flat color/value. Layer after layer to cover brushstrokes, pencil, smudges etc... is a time waster especially when I need to get it done. I've heard of enamel oil based One-shot paint for sign painters, but...
it's pricy and I don't care for anything that's not water based.
I tend to cut my paint white gesso as a shortcut. It still takes forever. Any tips or tricks on achieving solid opacity with colors/values quickly using a brush (including time to dry)?
Any good books for learning to draw vehicles, motorcycles in particular? Im hoping to find something that starts you out with basic forms and continually refines the shapes similar to bridgeman. I dont care about being 100% accurate it just needs to look plausible.
>>2367478 >Learn Squared a lot of them look super advanced just from their descriptions. $1,000 for mentorship looks pretty high too... Who is the target audience for most of these anyway? People who have been through art college, or professionals who want to improve further.
