Are those japanese ref books worth? There are plenty of them but they are expensive. I'm tired of searching good refs on the net
Anyone got more resources like this for legs?
You mean with pedo shit or just an actual leg tutorial?
You can try Burne Hogarth, I really love his technique. It is really exaggerated to be easily copied, tho, so you maybe want to switch to something more realistic after a while.
How do I make lineart like this, with the white buffer over the black one?
It's amazing looking.
Also any advice on lineart would be appreciated.
That looks tacky af, m8.
Try the pen tool and right click/stroke path with a brush of your choosing, or duplicate portions of your image and use those for a stroke selection, then just erase/fade/taper areas selectively. Or just do it manually like normal people, not as precise but it's faster.
Alla Prima 2 from Richard schmid (The updated version of the first one) in pdf???
I'm surprised how difficult is to found it in digital, some one have it? Would be amazing if you could share it with us!
I want to buy some cheap wall art, $20 - $50. Is there a place to buy actual paintings, not mass produced in china, for this price?
Check your local thrift shop. Where I live they sell all kinds of paintings and I remember when there was this one painting that sold for about $10 to a guy that later sold it for about $9000.
I have cubital tunnel syndrome but I want to get into drawing seriously. Can I possibly practice 5-6 hours a day without making my condition worse?
What could I do for those of you with the same handicap?
work out more. 5 hours a week is a minimum. include stretching, massage.
find ways to move your workstation - if possible have 2-3 setups where your body is in different position (it's called RSI for a reason). E.g. you can do traditional on a simple cardboard that you can move, if you can't move your tablet.
try to eradicate as much useless pressure on your RSI as possible (obvious)
do stretching breaks every 20 minutes if possible (breaks the flow...)
it's a bitch man. you're going to deal with it for months or years, especially if you persist in drawing a lot. so start easy, do pauses when you need.
This is... Depressing. Like, holy fucking shit... I love Alvaro Tapia's old fantasy work. His pencil work is/was gorgeous. But all his contemporary stuff is garbage. Utter TRASH. Judging from his online portfolio, all he does nowadays is ugly vector tracings of photos and high school tier edgy portraits with tumblr noses. It's not even that he does it all for work, the two bottom right abominations is his fucking PERSONAL WORK.
How can a man fall so deeply into the abyss? Is he possesed by fucking demons? It's the worst case of creative degeneracy I've...

Hey kids! Now you can go to school with lots of depressed chinks in semi-rural china and become that identical (read: somewhat sub par) copy of RJ that you always wanted to be! And tuition only costs about $5000 a year. I hope you brushed up on your ching chong, because you have to speak communist moon to study there.
What do you think d/ic/ks will you be studying in the east?
I wonder what the /ic/ of the east is like, they probably don't have incredibly shitty memes about sparks, gesture battles, natural talent, need more loomis, post your work, flash me, symbol drawing, ligamemes, neuroplasticity, and aphantasias
But they still have all the same dicksucking threads about Mullins/Jaime/Ruan. It's probably not all that different from here, I'm sure they also have their own memes and negativity. Human nature is pretty uniform.
Anyone got this on a google drive or streaming site or something? I want to watch it but im broke as fuc.
Why didn't anyone tell me you could make bank creating shit tier paintings at weddings?
"The price for a single live painting usually ranges between $1,300-$2,200 and varies based on size, location "
This chick makes that much money making shit paintings at weddings? She's been endorsed by The New York Times, the Knot and several other media organizations.
>one of her paintings
You'll probably need good social skills to do that, and an insane ability to work under immense pressure. I imagine you need to dress up nicely too and not get oils over your clothes. I don't know how frequent the jobs would be either.
Honestly it sounds like a small niche this person managed to wedge herself in, but it's not really suitable for most people to try to break in to.
In all seriousness guys, is art school really worth it? Did you have success after you graduated? Tell me your experience, cause I have so much questions right now.
I personally want to study animation and digital art, but none of my peers support me on my goals warning me I will starve if I go for it. Should I really go for it?
Imo going to a college to learn digital art is a waste of cash. Animation in school can be good, but you will want to only go a good school, don't just do a local university or college.
Go for it. And go for the expensive good schools. I'm in a local art program and they are not serious at all about any kind of drawing.
I already tried to power through an MAE degree just for the money, it doesn't work once you get to the junior level courses you need real passion to pass that bullshit.
Do art, tell your friends to fuck off.
does anyone have requests open?
please I want someone very kind to draw for me.

Can I ask why you guys have so much contempt for style? And how far that goes? Like, do you dislike Van Gogh and the impressionists? (though I guess that's not really a "style", but you get what I mean) Do you hate Picasso?
Anyone wanna help work on a VN?
We need a few character pieces done, its a passion project so we can't really pay anything, but you will be credited as an equal. Help two artless writers get their project off the ground a few inches!
>we need our MC and main girl based off of these character mock ups
Is this iraki rebranded or someone else?
Holy fuck I thought this was satire but I think it's a real person? I can't even tell but I'm laughing my ass off either way
That feeling when your favorite artist like yours drawings
And give money to your patreon
>when senpai notices you
>when they dedicate time to help you improve
I have a question.
With all those special visitors straight outta tumblr recently (bless them), is there anyone who's never had this depression?
>a few years long, lack of motivation, daily suicidal thoughts yet too cowardly to kill yourself, food/drink/sleep/hobbies don't make you happy anymore, that kind of stuff
Everyone here has had it at some point, right?
Not sure what you're talking about with people out of tumblr...but anyways, depression is fairly common, but not exactly normal. Seems to happen to a lot of artists though, myself included. Try therapy or pills.
Every artist gets depressed, but the best learn how to get over it and grind. I didn't really have suicidal thoughts, but I fucking hate my art now that I know how terrible I am kek. By "every artist gets depressed" I mean every single one, not even exaggerating or anything, I know that statement covers a lot, but really, I do believe it to be the truth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huwOsyPseII
>hobbies don't make you happy anymore
I actually had to get more hobbies because all I used to do was draw and burnt out...

Depression is most often the result of a faulty childhood (abuse, neglect, daycare etc). Artists are often quite in tune with emotions, and it would make sense that people prone to be more empathetic or emotional choose a creative path. These two factors somehow combine to produce emotionally damaged creative individuals.
People who have depression are subconsciously looking for more attention, understanding, and a way to connect with other people (those who don't just kill themselves or quietly rot away). This leads to them expressing their problems online, which is...

I've been think recently about creating a tumblr account to post porn drawing and get some commissions
But I feel a bit lost, how do I get noticed ? Do I have to draw specific subjects/fetishes or characters ? What's the best way to get attention and "fans" ?
>Do I have to draw specific subjects/fetishes or characters
Yes. The best way to gain a loyal fanbase is to pick and choose a single niche. It takes longer to get a considerate number of views, but the number of people who come back and invest in you is more consistent than if you were to draw without a theme.
Any other piece of art like that ?
not mine, just found
This guy used to be a meme. He's a good artist who suffers nervous breakdowns because of his fleeting viral fame a few years back.
He's live now and has a number you can call to give him some emotional support. Give this guy you're time, he's a genuinely fascinating individual. He used to have a public access show where he'd run on a treadmill and blend drinks while painting all at the same time.
ITT: Critique My Drawing.
Im trying to become better and please
help me to improve.
How can i paint like this man ?
I've always been a fan of Bethesda with the fallout and elder scrolls series and a fan of the concept drawing.
Adam Adamowicz was one of the concept artists and I wanted to hear your guys opinion on his work and maybe give me a pointer on any other concept artists who you enjoy as ive always been a fan of the artwork?
adamowicz is amazing, rip
I think his fallout 3 stuff was what got me into concept art
here's some of my favorites
Oblivion probably has some of the worst concept art ever made though, was that Adam Adamowicz?
Can watching porn help you with learning anatomy?
Can somebody please educate me on what kind of art this is? I'd like to find more!
I like drawing realistic portraits. Working from life is fun, but rarely practical.
I like working from photos too, but I keep reading about things like lens distortion, value compression, and colour inaccuracy. Is this just memeing? What can be done to minimise those issues?
I fucking hate krita
How can a simple piece of software be so obfuscating?
Everytime I try to give it a chance I stumble upon more and more annoyances.
For those of you with gfs who draw is she better than you? If yes how do you feel?
>tfw gf doesn't draw
>tfw makes me choose between drawing and her
>tfw insecure fucks can't appreciate what they have
