>>2700874 1.this is a slow board so it takes a long time to get replies 2.peopel here hate it if you make your own thread about your own art instead of a general thread. It brings all the artists out and they sperg out 3.post it in the animation thread and you'll probably get more help.
one would assume dynamic lines would result in a dynamic pose but i was looking at steven universe official artwork and notice how although the lines are very straight, the drawings always look full life and personality. how do they achieve this when the character design is so blocky and the lines so rigid?
Where can you check application portfolios for people applying to art school (preferably industrial/entertainment design). The images on relevant threads on CA.org don't show up and google hasn't helped much either (there is a post on studentartguide showing a few examples but I'd like to see a few more). It'd be nice to see some that were accepted too.
Other than the minute technical errors like proportion and details etc. the fact that knowing that I have such a long way to go until I make it. When I think about it too long I start to have a feeling of helplessness but then I just start drawing then I fall back in love (kinda).
>>2698594 Well Op, I was wondering this too. I bought some Derwent pencils to start getting the way with coloring. But, anyway, some anon here sent this video to me. Check it too. I know it isn't enough, but keep searchin!
>>2700253 best way to form a habit is to use about 2/3 of the will power you have for something at a time (this works with jogging at least). This means that you're unlikely to resent the act, which will allow it to become a habit. Once it does, the amount of time you spend on it will naturally rise
>>2696661 It's a place where you're socially allowed to sit and work for long periods of time, and you have access to snacks and coffee and free wifi. A lot of people need to work in a place other than their home to get in the right mindset to produce and not get distracted, and they can't afford a studio space. I'm sure some people want to do it as a way to get attention or validations from strangers too.
That said I'm a recluse who doesn't leave my room, but those reasons are what I would guess.
=Drawing many hours a day means very little without a theoretical guide. How you learn is more important than how long you spend doing shit that you actually have no!- b.a.s.i.c. t.h.e.o.r.y.- of how learning in your brain might work( for everyone) you too ... For example Vilppu's "no rules just tools" i think is a euphemism to mean I DONT KNOW WAT TO TELL YOU about rules BECAUSE I am not a neuroscientist, I JUST DO IT AS I GO with what comes easy to me .and doing it enough should become easy to you too... nothing against anyone who pro ports to teach you step... >>2689985 Metal slug 1 through 3 and known for their beautiful animations
The fight scenes for Ashita no joe and Ashita no Joe 2 have all of the budget spent on them. It's an anime with stretch and squash incorporated, by god!
A few episodes of Batman: The animated series are very very well animated. The whole show looks wonderful thanks to Bruce Timm's art direction but some episodes just have amazing moments. Like the Clayface debut episodes with him shape-shifting at the end. Or the Robin origin story.

Simple? Kinda, it's a relative term. I don't think it's very good though, there isn't a clear point of focus, the lighting is confusing and my eye keeps getting lost across the layers. It would be a good composition for a surreal piece, perhaps.
You might groan at this but I'm aiming for a sort of anime style. (I hated that style at first but I just felt drawing in a realistic style felt awkward for me and I just started liking it for some reason)
So yea can someone help sorry for the shitpost just help me draw eyes or anything you find wrong with that trainwreck
>>2700349 I like abstract work like this, please don't always stick to realistic properties, but an abstraction of realism still does look better than an abstraction of symbolism iykwim p much >>2700356 Then go macabre and you'll be a okay
