I'm new, so I apologize I theres a group topic on this and I'm that one asshole posting for themselves but this is a small sketch I'm doing for a painting that will be featured in a hookah lounge I attend regularly
Can't seem to sit down and actually draw anything from my head or at all. Have all the desire to do so but when I sit down I'd rather just watch something or waste time. Anyone else have this problem and know how to solve it?
>>2336506 downlaod: http://appsapps.info/instantboss.php set to 20 mins work during your 5 mins shitpost on the eyesee back to work 20 mins set repeat to 5 after 5 repeats it would be 1hr draw time for 1hr you can do whatever you want...more shitposting, video games, youtube, etc..
after 1hr break it's back to work...rinse and repeat
now try it and see how it works for you; you're welcome.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up.

i've been drawing on and off for a while, but i just came to the realization how bad i really am because i was trapped very early to depend on reference pics. i'm making an effort to draw from imagination. any tips? any resources recommended?
i used a random noun generator, and it gave me 'soup'. i sat for a minute or two and thought of a scene. what are you guys' creative thought processes?
keep drawing stuff you love or want to draw from imagination and incorporate reference as you go to improve on whatever needs to be improved, whether it be anatomy, proportions, color, etc...It's the best way to get better and not get stuck doing random studies that mean nothing in the end
I've been kind of struggling/toiling with myself about what I consider art.
I really do love art, especially beautiful realistic pieces, however when I try do draw or do anything art related I just scribble and try to put my emotions on the paper whether it be doodles or words or whatever. Does this make me an artist though? I wish it did but I don't think it does. Nothing I produce remotely looks good, so idk. I'm gonna do my best to improve
What is art in your opion? What makes someone an artist? Is it absolutely subjective?

I think most things are art, but on varying levels. We often draw/paint nature and its beauty is the art, right? well I like to look at everything as art in itself, but when the factor of humans come into play, I tend to see art in a different light.
Criteria for art(very simple):
1. Does it look good?
thats it! after that, I take into play what i know about technique and see if i it fits. does it have proper proportion, is the lighting good, do the colors look right etc...
Art is a way to express thought, feelings, and depict certatin things. It's something that people can connect to, being that they have experienced those feelings, thought similarly, or seen similar events. It's relativity between man and life, how one perceives the earth on a blank canvas.
Sorry for being poetic, I just really have a passion for art, I guess.
This is driving me crazy at the moment. There are a few projects i would like to get done, 1 of them can earn me a living easily.
Atm however i do not have the skillz or experience to complete the projects, I am currently learning and have made great progress this last 2 years.
However i'm considering an alternative that's killing me. Do i hire professionals (people who already have the skills and experience) to complete the various tasks i need done to advance the projects in a professionally short amount of time. Or do i continue to learn... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I've considered this and it's exceptionally painful. If i am an ideas guy it's not just pulling things out of my ass, it's the entire process mapped out from start to finish with no stone left un turned.
I hope it's not true tho i want to get good, this is my life now.
Hello! I'm looking to get better at doing storyboards and planning comics panels, is there any books or anything -like certains artist's works, movies, comics, manga, etc. to use as a reference- to help? Thanks in advance!
>>2336069 >Do contemporary non figurative painters and artists actually know how to draw? Many do, yes. > Do you need to know how to draw to do compelling non figurative art or can you jump straight into abstract work? depends on the style of abstraction. fully non-representational work really only requires an understanding of fundamentals like color, shape, line, etc, and not anatomy or rendering. it certainly can't hurt though.
