I've been thinking about creating a video game set in a cyberpunk setting, where the protagonist is, in a way, blind. He/She perceives the surrounding in a different, more artificial spectrum due to the augumentations.
My question is, can anyone recommend some aesthetic that would make the world seen by the protagonist appealing? All I can think of are really simple, unattractive designs that would bore anyone to death.
Video and pic somewhat related to the topic, also sorry for the shit quality on the vid, that's the only... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hello /ic/, please help me improve my art. this iss kinda a work in progress, but i guess it's one of my favorites so far. i'm not really focusing on realism, but if you have some good ideas, post them down below, and feel free to paint over this drawing!
>>2334001 What are you trying to do here? Like it's got stylized proportions, but they don't really seem to be for any reason. You've got a female face with a super manly jaw, then put it on a pencil thin neck. The orange backlighting is inconsistent too, and the structure of the neck and shoulders is not really defined well.
I feel like you are jumping ahead of yourself here by painting in tiny details with a one pixel brush into the eyeballs and using a speckle brush to texture the skin pores and stuff.... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2333972 How's that dryin, bub? Looks like a pretty smooth clay. Have you hollowed out the back? Lots of differences in thickness puts a lot of stress on pieces. The thinner areas dry faster than the rest so they start to contract first and cracks begin. I like to wrap extremities in plastic, then drape paper towels over them, put them on a damp plaster bat, triple plastic wrap the whole thing for a week to even everything out, only then begin the drying process. The paper towels on top of the piece catch condensation... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hello /ic/ common lurker here. I've been attempting to draw loomis style heads. It's not clicking for me, here's a picture.
In short what i'm getting at here are there any other methods to drawing heads that helped you guys out? I understand turning complex forms into simple shapes, I just have immense trouble with the human head.
>>2333839 fwap is good stuff, I think his figure stuff is over rated, a bit too rigid but fwap is great for teaching you basic construction. It's a pretty short book anyway so you may as well just do it.
>>2333839 It's only a meme in the sense it gets automatically recommended to beginner in every situation. It's a set of solid books that are considered classics and it was a big deal when they got reprinted a few years back because before that they were out of print and overly expensive, and people would be forced to share illegal digital copies.
Anyways, there's good info in them, but I think some of his material is better suited for intermediate artists than true beginners. I also think his stuff either... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Do normies actually think this is good? Not just good, but GREAT? Some girl posted this on a facebook group and asked for honest opinions if it was good enough to give away as a gift, and added that she was a beginner.
I told her that I didn't understand why you would give away a drawing if you're just a beginner, but everyone one else was RAVING over how good it was. "looks amazing!" "wow, that's great!! I'd love that as a gift!!" both men and women. Predicatbly one white knight popped up and said I was just jealous and that she... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
the problem isn't with the drawing op, it's with you
someone getting compliments and positive reaction doesn't take away from you. it shouldn't affect you so deeply. why do you care what other people do focus on yourself. this sort of negative behaviour will only be detrimental in life
Never said it takes anything away from me. I'm happy for other people getting praise if they deserve it. Fuck off with your pseudo pop psychology bullshit and answer the question instead. Do these people actually think this is good or are they just engaging in tribal hugbox behavior?
