436 KB,
So I'm studying folds on clothes. I've been reading Josh Reed's folds tutorials to understand how they work.

For now I'm focusing on the drawing part only (rendering will come later). I want to be able to represent correct volumes only with outlines but it looks kinda flat and unstructured, just random lines...

I need critics:
What can I improve?
What are your methods for representing folds?

Pretty good, but there are some areas where you just threw some lines in without thinking about it. Be more direct and try to draw a 3d shape, don't just make it close enough, unless you're going for a specific style.
Also it's really hard to draw folds with only lines, especially materials like silk which have prominent shadows, highlights and ambient light. Practice with painting to get used to it.
>>
you might want to play with pressure and line weight to communicate the kind of edges you're trying to describe, areas with buttoms overlay everything else, and folds close to it are more tight

also, you did some scratching at some points, if you do, you should follow the actual form instead of doing paralel straight lines (lazier and not troughtful approach)

Yet, all this if you don't want to do it skipping to paint or render values

STOP WORKING FROM IMAGINATION

your imagination is terrible, and that's fine. it's still better than mine by miles, but terrible nonetheless.

You are like me. Your strength is in your shortcomings in skills /ic/ values like visual libraries, imaginative work, and anatomy from memory.

You NEED to start doing work from life. Portraits, landscapes, still lifes. You are much stronger working traditionally than you are trying to force...

so please. for the love of god. get back to drawing from life. draw from life until you start to trust the voice in your head that tells you what things are supposed to look like.

our creativity is a very simple one and that's fine. we won't work making giant paintings of castles and dragons and spaceships but whatever we can play to our strengths and that's the very inability that prevents us from doing those complex pieces.

Be gay or a furry

Seriously, homosexuals and people who like yifying have something wrong with their brain that allows them to be unusually gifted at creative enterprises.

I'm not saying you have to be gay, I'm just saying you should really force it.

99.9% of Asian artists are a sexual deviant of some find, pedo, homo, lesbo, beasty, tranny, etc. etc.

Don't know if this is the right place to post, so if it isn't I am very sorry. I'm looking to commission an artist for something mostly simple and personal, my budget is small (under $200 small, not petty cash small) and I have a window of 3 months for it to be completed. I have been looking into artists with styles similar to what I'm looking for, but either A) have not been able to find any contact info, or B) they have not contacted me back after my message/email/etc.
So, how do I find an artist for this? I know the quality won't be phenomenal...

/ic/ isn't really a good place to ask since the only proof of someone from FZD is their work, but since you ask anyways, I'll reiterate to you what I've read about FZD.

Feng isn't "savage", he's just honest and speaks his mind without pause. You might interpret that as something else, but he's said this before in his videos and other students have said so too. He's just efficient, you could say.

Feng knows every student learns differently and has said he struggles to help them since they're struggling so hard. He's...

For e.g. when he builds a ship in perspective or a side of a building showing the layout inside, things like that I think he doesnt divulge in his videos, those are the demos I want to see not character shit, and...
