Are the Ottomans objectively the most powerful country ever? England was definitely stronger in their time but that has been 200 years max. The Ottomans were the premier power in the world for around 1000 years.
Would be China but they were autistic as a nation basically, so they don't really count as they weren't really a threat to anyone.
But yeah maybe Rome I guess. Except they were fighting scrubs. The Ottomans were taking on civilised societys
>took them centuries to march over tiny, bickering balkan nations
>literal infinite of their soldiers
>couldnt finish off small, powerless, impoverished balkan states that were in downfall for quite some time now
>>>>>>>>zero intellectuals, ever
yeah, nah, not really
china had compass, guns, and repeating crossbows
and 5k years old dynasties and emperors (but still all china)
and sailing innovations
and ton of shit like philosophy and idk
ottomans didnt have shit
Most powerful country in history was france.
I can't really think of another country that managed to take on all of europe and win on several different occasions.
