What are yall watching lately? Anything good on?
Beginner's guide: http://pastebin.com/YtK9gFDb
I had a dream that all the prosecutors from HERO were secretly ninjas, and there was a sub-plot point where Suetsugu had learned some secret one-of-a-kind martial arts move from a dojo that it turned out that everyone else at the office already knew, plus Ushimaru.
>Unlike Anime for Dramas you usually need to separately download RAWs and subs.
That's only for modern ones. Anything before like 2010 is probably hardsubbed.
Shows on air I'm watching are Otona Joshi, Gisou no Fuufu, the Yamapi/Ishihara drama, and the Gakky drama.
I'm currently marathoning through all of the Shinya Shokudo seasons. Show is comfy and hits hard, since the setting is always after midnight, I don't think I can watch it during the day. Kinda ruins the experience tbh
What do we need in order to make these threads stay alive?
Just asking and giving recommendations won't work.
Discussing dramas is a bit hard as everyone is watching something else.
I watched Death note and it was better than the anime but not as good as the manga, and I'm starting to get done with Ryomaden but I think I need to watch something else before finishing it as it starts to get a bit long.
You need people here to actually care about drama, which you're not going to succeed given that everybody is watching different shit and nobody spergs out about fictional live-action characters the way they do 2D ones.
What drama should I watch? Sell me on something, not feeling like anything specific right now. The only requirement is that I should be able to get it in at least 720p on avistaz.to so nothing extremely obscure or old.
The jdrama scene hasn't been the same since DA closed their trackers. The foreign viewership just plummeted and eventually people stopped watching.
It's just us now. The lonely bunch.
>Usually dramas have a large community of girls.
Not all dramas are for 18-35 women. Even the getsu-9 dramas are supposed to be for wide appeal
jdrama scene has been dying even before then, as the major fansub groups retired. its the effect of crunchyroll, viki etc extending beyond anime
This is going to be so awful
I've started watching Mother since it was recommended to me.
Started watching Shomuni 2013 (Power Office Girls 2013) without having watched any of the originals. I wonder what people who watched the original 15 years prior think of the way it went.
Even though it seems like the kind of show with views that people here might complain about due to the sheer thickness of the social commentary, I had a lot of fun.
Is that the one with tsubasa honda on it? I am probably picking it up after I finish watching the aoharaido movie, hope ots alright, is tsubasa honda the main lead as the sinopsis makes it look like?
She is, but so far (which isn't that far) she's just kind of getting taken along for a ride. I hope you like mature women.
Yeah, not seeing so much of that. I'll probably watch the others afterwards.
Any good, recent dramas with our guy here? I've been out of the jdrama scene for a while. Last thing I saw from him was Unubore Deka (fun watch).
Does anyone remember a 90's drama that's like mostly family-oriented? I'm sorry if I sound vague, but the first episode had some long-haired guy boarding a train and sitting next to an old lady. everything else is a blur.
I watched it long ago. It's pretty good.
It's the first jdrama I watched. It's also the drama that got me hook on jdrama. I'll probably watch the remake if I can't find something to watch soon.
Gakkou no Kaidan
My Boss My Hero
Other than what >>14280574 recommended, Bambino is also a good watch. Also Tennou no Ryoriban is amazing.
Yasuko to Kenji
Manhattan Love Story
Anybody who knows the name of this japanese movie or drama?
Yeah, it's probably from the same franchise, unfortunately there are a lot of Zenigata shows, and I'm searching for that specific episode, or at least for the girl wearing the swimsuit. Nevertheless thanks, at least I'm not that lost anymore.
I remember watching a clip of this same girl being drowned in a bathtub (the swimsuit pattern and color is the same), it's a rather popular clip on Youtube. Check the commentaries for more answers, because it seems that you weren't the only one looking for the source.
wow, yes she is the same actress, ginda mai...apparently.
also, this was from a mobile detective series!
so i guess that this is the way she was killed?
Currently watching a couple I've watched a long time ago for nostalgia. Densha Otoko is one of them. I recently finished Saba Doll and now currently watching Tatakau! Shoten Girl. I also recently finished Shitsuren Chocolatier and thought it was an alright drama. I'll probably end up watching Orange Days and Boku Dake No Madonna again.
I need to get on watching GTO. Not the classic one in 90's.
GTO (new ones)
Angel Heart <-----Nice concept, will see where it goes.
Designer Baby <-----interesting drama, cop detective, baby themed crimes.
Teddy GO! <-----fun comedy, hopefully it goes for a more fun approach.
Oki tegami kyouko no Bibouroku <-----Yui is in it... enough for me.
5-9 Watashi ni Koi Shita Ikemen Sugiru Obousan <-----I'm liking this one.
Samurai sensei <-----bout to start this one.
Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku is fun, my favourite of the season thus far.
Both Siren and Samurai Sensei are okay but a little slow right now, hopefully that gets better in future episodes.
5-9 Watashi ni Koi Shita Ikemen Sugiru Obousan is decent for a shoujo adaptation
and there's a trap in it.
Tried the first episode of Seishun Tantei Haruya but that was bad.
Umi ni Furu and Kounodori look interesting but I haven't watched them yet.
Yeah, the youtube comments were right, the episode I was searching was from the Zenigata Kai series.
Although, it's unfortunate that this girl was just featured for one episode and for few scenes.
Gotta admit that I felt in love with her at first sight and that I wanted to see her swimming or bragging her swimsuit.
If you have the exact copies of the files, then this will work. Grab the torrent from the site, then let it DL for a couple of minutes. Press stop. Copy your files over, then right click > "Re-check" on the torrent. If everything is the same, then it'll seed without re-downloading. You can do for both single and multiple files.
Or you can always try to google search the exact file name of the movie/series. I did this in the past when I was a leech and I hadn't anymore the files on my HD. By founding at least a google mirror of one of the torrents I had downloaded I've been able to rebuilt my ratio by farming points.
So I've been relying on freeleech torrents, since those don't count toward your download. I find the newest popular freeleech, typically the complete pack of a newly aired tv drama, and do that. Managed to stay at 1:1 ratio so far while getting 2-3 old dramas that nobody else is downloading.
I just finished Nazo no Tenkousei, this shit gave me so many feels, i even crying right after the last episode
35 sai no koukousei its a pretty drama, with a good history and great OST
maybe i should watch the prison school drama just for her
What are you going to watch tonight for halloween?
This time I think I'll try a korean horror.
>My Boss My Hero
Why not a new season for Nagase Tomoya as St Agnes teacher(from http://wiki.d-addicts.com/My_Boss_My_Hero: "Doosabu Ilche spawned a 2006 sequel: Twosabu Ilchae [known as My Boss, My Teacher overseas]).
Gomen ne Seishun
Nobuta wo Produce
Itazura na Kiss~Love in Tokyo~
Gakkou no Kaidan
Omotesando Koukou Gasshoubu
Best one from this list is Nobuta.
Most of these are suggested in the thread already but if you didn't bother to read the thread, they're here.
What in the heck is going on? Was this scene a 4th wall break? Didn't expect that.
And Hana-chans actress Aya Ueto is the cutest. Any other good drama where she plays a major role?
Just finished Kazoku game, went in expecting family hijinks but it blew my expectations. Really well done family drama that deals with school bullying and dysfunctional family.
Is there some sort of essential drama list/chart like most board have?
I liked it as well.
Had some gripes about it though. The haircuts for the MC and the older brother were stupid. Also the last part about being fully absorbed into Kouya's persona and trying to make it have a deeper meaning was not convincing at all.
Don't really have a list, but if you want a "family" drama, watch Mother (2010) then try Kaisefu no Mita (2011). There's only one season each.
Thanks, will check those out.
Every episodes except the last two was 8/10 for me. I don't think they were going for some deeper meanings behind Kouya's persona, it serves as an explanation for Yudai's shrewd personality. That guy clearly has PTSD and he uses that persona to keep doing what he promised Souta.
But i agree, the acting is abit overblown.
That's my main gripe with most dramas, i often stick to renzoku dramas.
Almost done with Itazura na Kiss.
I haven't watched any of the older versions or anime but is Irie Naoki supposed to be autistic or something?
Everyone views him as some kind of womanizing genius but he just acts like a very high functioning autist.
It kind of seems like the script writers went out of the way to write as little dialogue for him as possible, like he's some JRPG protagonist that just responds with "..." every time. It's really fucking weird and kinda clashes with the whole tone.
Mine is Alice Hirose, she is very cute
i saw this fanart on /a/ and wast told its off majisuka gakuin jdrama.
im already at S1ep4.. looks too cheesy..
dont really care about the actors, but is the plot worth spending time?
It's only worth it if you like idols and know those specific idols (they're from AKB). If not, their poor acting will annoy you. Watch the second season which I feel is better but it only has half the cast from your picture.
im watching it anticipating it will be like yankee-kun megane-chan jdrama.. but it isnt..
i have some tolerance for bad acting and i dont really know all akb members.
but hell, season2 ending is bullshit.. and i dont see theres a need to have the yuko twins comeback for a plot.
season1 was decent.. will give it a go for season3.
surprisingly some of the akb members seems to have good combat stance n movement(as if they do have experience in martial arts) despite being instructed
