Looking to get into sport shooting, and I'm ready to purchase (been renting for the most part).
While I do have a budget, I'm still new to buying, and I was wondering if I could get some pointers of what to look for in a good shotgun. I'm between a semiautomatic or an over under, both sub 1000.
Pump: used Remington 870 (pre-2007), Mossberg 500 (and derivatives), Winchester SXP is okay. Any of these under $350 would be fine.
For a little more, you could go Nova or SuperNova. I would go Nova unless you would use 3.5" shells hunting.
I would avoid the BPS and Ithaca 37 due to the bottom feed port being a pain when shooting trap and the lack of an open ejection port for service.
Avoid Turkshit for trap if you are going to be shooting volume. This includes Weatherby,...

Also, if you are serious about skeet, I would strongly recommend an autoloader over pump. Skeet can be shot with a pump, but the reset on recoil and then racking the slide can hurt your recovery.
For most clay disciplines, an O/U or unsingle is preferred. Starting out, something like a Linberta or CZ Redhead (or the cheaper Mallard) would be okay. Both are Turkish but seem to hold up better than their autoloaders.
Does /k/ have a place in their house/dorm/apartment/etc that just doesn't feel as safe or secure as the rest? A place where every time you go you hope and pray that Tyrone/ATF/Norks doesn't choose to bust in your door at that moment?
>Hard Mode: Pick a place other than "On the shitter."
eating dinner at the table. furthest point away from the place where my gun is held. getting a table gun though, just going to bolt a holster to the underside of the table and conceal and serbu super shorty
/k/ you have 10 seconds to explain why you don't have one of the greatest self defense/combat weapons ever developed. The N frame .357 with a 5 inch barrel.
As long as it isn't a single shot. And no bidding. And I can't drive so is it possible to not have it shipped to a store? Probably not I figure. So pawn shop right?
>mfw poor people need it more than the rich
You have to fill out an FFL at a licensed store to allow them to legally recieve and transfer firearms from online, if that's what you mean. Usually it's pretty cheap.
As for cheap handguns, used they start at about $200 but you get what you pay for. Avoid anything called a HiPoint, it's a complete piece of shit.
Hey /k/ I'm new to /mauser/ is turkish 8mm corrosive?
How difficult is it to crash a skull by stomping on it?
Crush like smash to dust and totally collapse it?
Not sure, probably a lot.
Cause skull fractures and serious concussions?
Not more than a couple. Don't kick people in the head unless you want to face (attempted) manslaughter charges.
Bought a Glock 43 for concealed carry iwb. Did I fuck up?

Been confused but this stormtrooper in the movie pulls out the anti jedi weapon which is deployed ready for use.
Then he spins it around into the same position??? What was the purpose of spinning it around from a weapons standpoint if the weapon is already deployed? Is this an implication like the old west where they spun their weapons around during battle to psych out the enemy by blowing their minds?

K why the fuck do people act like the sp2022 doesn't exist. Fuck it's glorious.
>fairly compact about the same size as a g19
>non striker fired da/sa goodness
>poor fag friendly
>40 and 9mm options
Why is this unicorn ignored?
Listen, I've owned a lot of 9mm pistols and while the SP2022 is decent VALUE (at $400) it has a lot going against it.
>extremely top heavy
>bulky in all the wrong dimensions and relatively short barrel for size
>trigger is uselessly heavy in DA and mushy in SA, and brakes way against the frame
>mediocre grip shape and uncomfortable texturing
I got mine for $390 brand new and couldn't sell it fast enough. The quality was pretty good but I've never felt a gun that felt so top heavy and found the trigger just unacceptable for a range toy.
I've since moved on to a Sig P320 and am very happy. Basically, the SP2022 showed me that (to me) DA/SA is a meme for a range toy other than revolver. I wanted to like it so much but it's proportions and weight are just all wrong.
Police shooting done right:
>suspect armed with knife
>officers used less lethal first
>when victim's life was in danger they shot him
It doesn't seem that hard, why can't everyone else not fuck up like capping the grandmother in Chicago?

Is an ACOG really worth it for $1000+? Or does /k/ prefer a red dot (that's obviously not EOTech)?
fuck acogs and their shitty ass eye relief
You have to be literally three quarters of an inch away from the eyepiece to see shit without getting scope shadow
the only people who like them are faggy bench shooters
Bought a c96 and the safety is non functional if anyone is willing to help me solve the problem please help.
You may want to consult an exploded diagram of the C96 to see which part has failed. If you can afford a C96, you can afford to spend 30 seconds on google
Which barrel length is best for a Single Action Army? Which do you prefer, both visually and functionally? 4.75in, 5.5in, or the full 7.5in?
The most noticeable differences are in balance, overall weight, sight radius length, and draw speed. The last one only matters if you're in cowboy action shooting (or you have to take out a guy who's aiming for your heart). Try out a bunch in the store, and see which one appeals to you the most. You're not going to see a huge performance difference in the long run, so stick to the one that you feel is best
Recently recieved a cz model 83 as a christmas gift but dont have mags, some people want as much as 50 a pop for them, are they really that scarce? If not where is the best place to get them at a fair price?
