How many of you have been to the NRA Annual Meeting or the Shot Show?
Went to the 2002 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, quite an experience. Its like CES for guns.
However, its not for casuals, getting in requires knowing someone. I was part of a gun-related website contingent.
>talking to my buddy and tell him my bedroom gun is my 686
>responds by saying "with modern powders and bullet designs the magnum cartridges are a thing of the past"
>call him a fag
what say you /k/?
is the .357 outdated as a self defense cartridge?
>revolvers are more reliable than semiautos
But anon, that's true from a certain point of view.
For a recreational handgun that sees occasional use, a revolver has no mags, ammo issues etc and you can usually fire a huge variety of loads from one gun. Something has to break for it to start fucking up.
I was planning on going to my LGS tomorrow and ordering a Glock 20 because I want a 10mm for my collection. Two questions before I go.
> Are the Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glocks basically the same in quality now or should I stick with the Gen 3
> Are there any other 10mm (not 1911) that I should consider other than the Glock 20 int he same price range?
there's a couple P220 variants in 10mm out now.
cons are it's more expensive than glock and doesn't hold as many rounds per mag
pros are steel frame makes for a better balance and softer recoil,
trigger is available in SAO or DA/SA and imo much better than glock,
grip is much more comfortable
looks much more stylish
it's very accurate too
your choice really, just wanted to make sure you knew about it since they've been out for less than a year and still to my knowledge aren't listed on sig sauer's main site
Lets get an EDC thread goin... What yall packin?
I always have my S&W 649 .357 mag
Boker or Kabar fixed blade and
Kershaw leek or Boker Urban Trapper
Victorinox Swiss Army watch
rest is self explanatory
Why are there so many gun related accidents in US but so less in Switzerland?
Why are so many children (accidently) shot in US but so less in Switzerland?
I get confronted with that question all the time when i (try to) explain to ppl that guns are not bad.
The per capita rate isn't that bad but saying we have 30,000 deaths involving firearms every year sounds scary as fuck.
Basically all of your questions boil down to the fact that the US has 350 million people and Switzerland doesn't. Plus in Switzerland, IIRC, everyone is trained so they can act as a militia. Unlike the US where congress is too damn cheap and too many antis to have that happen.
What are some /k/ approved games. What pops into my mind are red orchestra 2, insurgency, and company of heroes 2.
What's wrong with EOtech exactly?
Why are gun shows so fucking awful?
>inconsistent beef jerkey quality
Why even bother?
I'm about to buy a makarov, Is there anything essential I should know before I buy it?
cheeki my breeki
Are these really legal to own? If so are they available and how much does this cost?
>yeah, I guess
Seriously though, they're fucking worthless. There really is no logical reason to take a belt fed semi auto over a magazine fed semi auto, unless you're interested in the history or pure looks of the weapon.
But hey, if someone wants to buy it, who the fuck am I to speak on their behalf? It's their money, their reasoning. They can do whatever the fuck they want to.
We all know you can fire a gun in space, but would a gas operated self loader like an AR or AK cycle in a vacuum?
Wouldn't that mean revolvers and pump/lever actions are the best guns for spess?
>We all know you can fire a gun in space, but would a gas operated self loader like an AR or AK cycle in a vacuum?
Yes. The gas is provided by the cartrige; the propellant.
They would cycle like anything else.
Quick /k/! You can only own one gun for the rest of your life! Who do you choose?
Tell me about the first time you shot a gun /k/. I want to relive the magic of it all
