>make fun of my black and tan rifle
they are bae systems, skd was doing a sale on them a while ago, but they discontinued it
iron-sights by outdoor research
search outdoor research military on google and you'll get to the page to find them. good company.
check armslist. just be sure to check for fractures and such before you purchase them.
What do all you gearfags think of Hazard 4 bags? I need a new laptop bag anyways, was thinking of getting their Defense Courier.
looks pretty good, cant attest to the quality, but i definitely like it.
I tried those OR gloves but didnt care for that grip material all on the gloves. Im going to give these a try one day
I have a G3 as well as the patagonia lvl9. Just kind of digging the green chest portion atm. I'm actually going with the Propper field pant w/ crye knees atm.
New to gear here.
I've been looking for a few days, but I can't seem to find a modular vest or even a regular rig that
A: is Flecktarn
B: Supports AK mags
Someone want to point me in the right direction?
I had a pair awhile back and they are super comfy, however they have a bad problem with the button just coming right off in normal everyday wear. I actually sell a lot of the gear I don't use/doesn't fit. Have a bunch of multicam gear just collecting dust.
Nope sold my pair, I do have a pair of XL/S wth knee pads installed made by goodwill, which is basically a mix between a crye G3 and regular fatigues.
Have a ton of massif combat shirts both new and used in Medium, regular multicam fatigues both pants and jackets. Have also a really nice propper Tac u combat shirt in LG and a tru sec combat shirt in med. Some caps, an LBT LBAV in coyote tan, and an RRV in ranger green.
im very happy with them. also look at vertex.
probably my favorite patch. it's one I will use till it gets wrecked then order another for sure.
>tfw rip off crye pants
There is a big fallout from SoE gear on the aR15 boards. I would stay away from them if I were you.
Might be interested in the propper shirt, or any other larges.
Shoot me an email with more details?
You're talking about a board that had a significant population of individuals that convinced themselves Larry Vickers was a hack when he (half jokingly) pointed out that most of them don't know shit about anything.
Something like the owner completely ignores emails, takes forever to make anything if he even does, and just has been shady the last year or so.
Hey I don't have a dog in this fight, but there is an entire massive post on it. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_109/929579_John_Willis__OSOE.html
I'd throw Propper in the mix there too. I'm selling the Tac U and the tru spec combat shirts I've posted here.
The dickbutt eyes are a tad more souless than I intended.
What shirts do you guys wear when operating operations? All of the competitions I have been doing need shirts tucked in so you can access things on your belt, and my shirts always seem to be baggy/pull out enough to be getting in my way as I move. Halp /k/
I just ordered some shotgun cards from them.
They took about 5 days to ship, then completely ignored my email when I expressed concern that the tracking number they provided seemed to have stopped working.
Beauregard, walked into a store and they had a bunch of blablas, had to pick one up.
Just got a box of Eagle Industries 2 and 3 cell AR mag pouches, on sale for $9.99 each, which I understand to be a killer price.
I'm relatively new to gear, is Eagle Industries /k/ approved?
forgot to include these, they're the pouches.
looks a lot better in person than it did on the website
I've been telling everyone they're the best. Life just isn't the same without a Blabla.
I have the MOD bag, its great for lugging my 15.4' laptop and projector and stuff when im doing presentations and also handles my huge medical textbooks no problem. The laptop sleeve is padded with a inverse water resistant zipper, they changed the flap so you dont have to unbuckle to gain entry to the main compartment, the front opens like a map case with a clear window.
It has good points and bad. The knife itself is big, bulky, and somewhat heavy, but it tears the shit out of everything I put it through and keeps it's edge. The sheathe is god awful though and I'm currently making a kydex one for it.
Yea, they are considered one of the best. For some reason those specific open top pouches go for cheap, but they are extremely well made.
It's not perfect, but if you're after a minimalistic/lightweight carrier it works very well. This setup with plates, loaded mags, radio and water is only 22lbs give or take.
Duuude, cmon. We're fucked either way, and I speak as a fellow yuropoor.
only thing i know is from a german firm called miltec that produces a vest similiar to the south african vest.
but miltec is fucking low low quality
like... really low. but its flecktarn and should hold ak mags if they build it like the sa vest
havent really done much with gear recently since I have no real use for it and even less money for it
want to pick up a Baofeng UV-5R and accessories and a simple chest rig at some point
Looks like your cummerbund could be synched down a few rows to avoid bunching and better adhere to the front panel velcro.
Hey guys, I need a cheap, simple chest rig for holding AK mags. Any suggestions?
original soe gear
ill be sure to fix that
I'm buying a chest rig
I want something that can be worn over armor or even better attach to it
It needs to hold at least three magazines
And have molle space or pouches for carrying things
Also, preferably with open top mag pouches
I tried my best to get a picture of some of my gear I have an entire man cave dedicated to /k/
You're such a faggot, Heartbreaker. I thought you'd fucked off for good.
Dude, I like it. Everyone needs a battle buddy blabla.
Because it takes us so long to grocery shop. We have so many items to chose from that other chores get sidelined from time constraints.
It's easy to keep a clean home when you have almost nothing else to do once you feed you cheekuns and slop the pigs eurofaggot.
It's like image swaps. Just another mystery of Yotsuba.
What do you use to attach your pressure switches to your SCARs? I like where they're situated, but it doesn't look like the crappy velcro that Surefire sends with their tape switches.
>It's not perfect
Why do you say that?
>This setup with plates, loaded mags, radio and water is only 22lbs give or take.
What type of plates are you using? And I assume that's a Source WXP with 3L of water?
But it is that crappy velcro that Surefire sends with their tape switches. I'm not aware of anything better than 3M industrial.
>tfw no Beauregard keychain
i wasn't meant to feel this pain
In what role?
Ceradyne ESAPI's, and it's a 2L storm bladder. I love the JPC, coming from the APC and Eagle PC before that. Again it's primary purpose is to be as light weight and low profile as possible, as a result long term durability and extended use comfort take a reasonable hit. If you plan to be humping armor for days on end, there are probably more suitable options. For a grab and go/immediate response type rig, it fits my needs well.
Thanks for the info. What in particular is uncomfortable after extended use? The shoulder pads did look a bit skimpy to me, but couldn't they be replaced with HSGI shoulder pads or something?
Yeah, you'll see most guys in the field wearing additional shoulder pads of various type. Since I'm a scrawny manlet it's always been a challenge for me getting proper shoulder-weld with armor. The JPC shoulder straps from what I've seen are the flattest, most low profile of any PC out there. Allowing me to shoulder and fire the weapon as I naturally would without interfering.
I'm working on filling out my own gear so I have some kit when I get out of the Army. Have a nice 6094 Slick with the QRAP panel, Peltor Comtac II, full IFAK, hydration, and several helmets. Cant decide if I like the ACH or one of the CVCs I have modified. Thinking of sticking with the CVC and just slapping some ARC rails on there for the Peltors. I also need a radio.
bought some printable sticker label paper and printed it out, then Exacto's the fuck out of it
sprayed a layer of brown rustoleum camo paint, let it cure, layed the stickers down, and went over it in tan
edges aren't as crisp as I'd like but it looks better than some other stuff I've seen, pretty decent for a first go on a rough as shit surface I suppose
the rustoleum camo stuff is decent and pretty matte when you spray it properly
I'm not a perfeshunal vandalizer though so you might better do some research, for all I know it could flake off in a couple days and poison me
Death, disappointment, or cool lasting paint job!
Why do ARfags need help counting their mags? Are you all that retarded? Well I mean you did buy a glorified nerf gun.
It might as well be.
If you're going to dress up as an operator and pretend you're all high speed at least do it properly.
You've got all the cool guy gear that, to uninformed audiences, make you look cool and knowledgeable, but you've got none of the boring gear that's actually going to make a difference.
Nigger, it's not an issue of 16 fucking dollars. The main point is I'm trying to get the best price possible because I'm a filthy jew, I also already have a mount so if it would be possible to get the optic for cheaper if I could find it without the mount I'd rather get that.
Baofeng came in today, need a pouch for it, studying up for my ham cert
Still waiting on my acog, rmr milled slide for my m&p should arrive on Monday the I just have to make a holster for it
Boom, fucking done. https://www.etsy.com/listing/158338273/parley-ray-daddys-girl-welcome-home?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_listing_promoted&utm_campaign=clothing-children-low&gclid=CjwKEAjw0ueeBRCmhozc-_DRrlUSJABihBEEReN2mzVl7sHHgJjZFlZ5fWSsmaT8wJb7upSI-cmCExoCs-_w_wcB
are you going to a class or are you studying online material? I'm kinda thinking about paying the 25 bucks for the material at hamtestonline.com
I just started into comms and probably need to lurk inna comms thread, but wanted to ask.
Actually, it looks like all of them are geared towards kids. Why has nobody made slutty multicam skirts for their girlfriends?
Here's some shit though.
Found a free pdf of ham for dummies and reading it in my free time, there are a bunch of studying resources online that will help you pass the test easy as shit as they have all the test questions. I plan on making it a little hobby and tinkering though so I'd rather learn the shit instead of just passing the test with no real understanding
Yeah, thats my thinking as well. I really want to understand what I'm doing instead of just going through the motions/ or a process.
do you mind linking that pdf? I really don't mind dropping $25 for a good study method, but free is free.
>bought a UW Gear Swamp Fox 2 months ago
>"please allow 3-5 months lead time"
Most of the free tests I took was stuff I learned in high school and 101 college physics classes (in regards to electronics and electricity)
It doesn't seem that hard just skimming over it, but I can't believe how many hoops there are to jump through with the FCC just to use a <$50 radio for shtf/operator tier stuff
technically you are allowed to use the ham bands during emergencies with no repercussions, so you don't really need a license if that is all you want to do. training with said radio though doesn't count as an emergency so you need it if you want to know what the fuck you are doing.
Save photographs as JPG. The file size will be much smaller and you probably won't have to shrink it to get under 4chan's size limit.
Curved, you can also get creative with padding the plate. There are also methods of binding your mamaries, I think HEMA has some guides on it.
alternatively you could wait for these to hit the market.
I already have a bandolier of theirs for my 74 and it's just excellent, so I got a full chest rig for my AR. The tuck tab system they use is really top-notch. IMO, it's worth the wait. But that's just me.
Supposedly they're coming out with some minor revisions to make production faster.
i honestly think the cert is a must because as soon as i got the baofeng i looked up the local repeaters and emergency freqs, monitored them for a couple of hours, and i didn't hear jack shit. the only freq that was broadcasting at all was the weather service. without my cert i can't broadcast a radio check on the ems stations so who the fuck knows if i'm even in range to use them if SHTF. y'na'sayian?
Ya saw the video on their revision, honestly not sure I like them. Usually all I want on my chest rig is space for mags, cleaning kit, flashlight, and maybe a pistol mag. So their chest rigs seem perfect, stuck between one of theirs and a Haley Strategic rig.
Their Mk III revisions seem a little iffy to me too, though it should cut down on lead times.
That's kinda why I grabbed a Mk II while I still could.
You looking at the Swamp Fox or the Minuteman rigs? The SF seems right up your alley.
Heard nothing but good things about the Haley rig too. Doesn't seem like you can make a bad decision, at least.
Its for wires if i remember correctly
Nomex ACUs are a cool concept, and they're comfy, the only downside is that the cargo pockets are too thin to hold much more than a notebook/some pens
It's not the FCC you have to worry about. You get in 2m/70cm without a callsign and they'll ignore you. You could be screaming and they'll ignore it.
Ham is also a meh, it is very codified. GMRS may be a better route.
Did you set the proper PL tones, step, ect? Also, just turning to the local freq may not get you anything. Most LEA have gone to P25 and your local repeater may be private.
I know my local freq, but the "rubber duck" antenna doesn't put off enough power for me to activate it. Same with local comms for EMS, LEA, and DPW. The antenna doesn't have the reach. I'm shooting for an NA-771.
Excuse my ignorance but is there a ham radio that can also do FRS/GMRS bands? It seems like being able to communicate with the more common radios on the market would be good post-SHTF
In the simple, no.
GMRS/FRS are Part 95, radios like the Baofeng are Part 90. Any radio you pick-up in the US will be locked via firmware, because of FCC regulations to lockout programming by the individual. You pick-up a radio via international sales there is no firmware lock.
The issue is a radio the Baofeng is putting off 4+ watts, which for GMRS isn't overly detrimental, but FRS can't hand it. FRS has a max of .5watts.
See with an Baofeng that isn't locked, you can program via the keypad or CHRIP. So you put in GMRS, FRS, MURS, ect... anything in 144/440 (2m/70cm) but under FCC compliance you're technically only suppose to use it for Ham.
it took 12 steel core ap 5.56x45mm +P+ with 63 grain and a muzzle velocity of 2,970f/s at less than 25 feet to penetrate that plate.
think your bare body can survive 12 shots to the center of mass?
Better yet here's the ballistic characteristic of .270win SP at 150 grain.
If the fucking E-SAPI can withstand 12 of those 'worthless rounds' at 25 feet with 1,238 ft·lbf (which is less than half of the .270win sp) what can you say about .270win sp? If that is you have the accuracy to hit with your shot before the dude with the 25 pound vest don't flank your fat lardass with his semi auto.
tl;dr: please research armor before sprouting stupid shit like that ever again.
Now this doesn't mean you can "monitor" this other frequencies. It's a bit complicated to get setup and understand. Things like frequency step, PL tones (CTCSS), ect...
See on a radio like the Baofeng, you can go in and set you PL tone, as to where something like a Motorola the sub-channel is the PL tone.
I linked a pdf cheat sheet of a match of between FRS channels and the freqs and PL tones you have to set.
nah, not anymore, if i ever feel like it again i might or if i need to. enjoying being anonymous better though
Sorry, no. Baofeng handle FRS just fine, but with any radio that has an output over .5watt using FRS freqs, you're a fucking beacon.
You're also violating Part 65 regulations by using a non-FRS radio on those freqs.
