What vidya does /k/ play? Red Orchestra? Insurgency? Rainbow Six?
I play insurgency I love it
For the most part, it's good.
Only on free weekends does it really get bad.
Also if you're playing as Insurgents, your entire team is gonna be yelling "ALLAH SNACKBAR" the entire game
I play CS:GO, used to play BC2 and BF3, but i got bored of em.
I also play RO2 from time to time.
But CSGO is my favorite shooter simply because it needs real teamwork and knowledge of the guns in the game.
Mostly Insurgency, put way too many hours into that lovely bitch lately.
Love the gunplay.
In fact I'll go play right now, if anyone desires I'll share the server.
RO2 was great, but the community died and no-one played Classic mode which was the only mode worth playing.
Haven't played too much Contagion, but I'll give it a +1. Not sure what it's called, but the vs. mode where you're just running around in a area stock full of Zack trying to find weapons, stay quiet, and kill everyone else is crazy stressful and oh so fun.
How does it feel to have the shittiest super weapon? Aurora a shit. Nuke Migs shit all over everything.
Aces High, for muh P51D action. Avoid War Thunder at all cost, it is the CoD of flight sims.
I play Insoy. It's pretty much all I play but I love it. Nothing better than screaming "KOS OMAK" then blowing up a security cache with a molly. Sucks that a lot of the game modes devolve into spawn camping, though.
Currently replaying the Max Payne series. I love all three games, start to finish.
Does that ever involve a 100 vs 100 vs 100 3 way war over control of 200+ airfields, vehicle depots, ports, and carrier groups? We got them fighters, we got them bombers, we got them tanks, tank destoyers, half-tracks, mobile AA, stationary guns, fucking everything all in one giant map.
That probably explains it. I can suggest this.
Go to "C:\Users\Your user name\Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data Now or where ever you have it installed, the directory changes if you have pirated it or bought the Collectors Edition and activated it through Origin.
Next you want to find Options.ini and copy and paste the following.
AntiAliasing = 3
FirewallBehavior = 1
FirewallNeedToRefresh = FALSE
FirewallPortAllocationDelta = 0
GameSpyIPAddress = 0.0.0.0
Gamma = 50
IPAddress = 0.0.0.0
IdealStaticGameLOD = High
LanguageFilter = false
MusicVolume = 39
Resolution = 1280 960
Retaliation = yes
SFX3DVolume = 37
SFXVolume = 33
ScrollFactor = 42
SendDelay = no
StaticGameLOD = High

UseDoubleClickAttackMove = no
VoiceVolume = 40
After that save it and try starting it up. I hope it works komrade.
I've never been a real gamer but I bought STALKER two days ago.
Really great atmosphere but it's a bit buggy and aiming is really difficult.
I like almost everything except the damage system for the enemy is quite shit. You have to shoot them too many times and it seems like they can just take an entire 30 round magazine to the chest without it bothering them. Or take five rounds to the face before they turn invincible while they are stumbling, then stand upright and keep shooting.
Also, I hate hanging around a cool area looking for things and then bandits keep attacking. Then I have to stack the bodies after the firefight but it takes so long that more bandits show up. And some areas are occupied by bandits every single time you pass. It doesn't make sense. It should be even more random.
My machine is maybe 4 years old. I got it for free from someone. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to computers.
I do know that it has a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 3.00GHsz processor. And the video care has the number 3200 in it.
It runs well. You can look the game up on Steam to see the minimum requirements.
I just loved the
>"the corps ain't gonna take this bending over! better tell the PLA to bite the pillow, cuz we are coming in dry and fast!"
>Mortars are like your suzy back home, always going down on the marines around you
And a personal favourite was
>"don't go kicking down doors making them think we're here to steal their goats or some shit."
Recently I've been playing a lot of Hearts of Iron 3 thanks to this alternate history mod.
Arma 3 w/ mods
Mount and Blade : Warband

1.13 mod is nice. especially the in-dev version where you can equip militia, fight enemy tanks in a patrol, drive-by via vehicles, and of course have a massive armory of guns.
Played for a few hours with my crew tonight.
>Dat combined arms experience
>Dat feel of clearing a compound on comms with your bros, calling targets/movements and wrecking shit
>Suppressing fire with chaingun
Planetside 2 fucking rocks.
> most /k/ game out there
> PlanetSide 2
> the greatest betrayal that an MMO sequel has ever had
1. image related. i've heard stories in /ps2g/ on /vg/ about how actual heli pilots hate the shit out of the control scheme. say what you will, not letting the player rebind mouse axis directions to functions is full retard negligence -- fucking FPS games from the 90's let you do that shit
2. the "our color is supposed to be purple but it's actually black" and "i am a giraffe, what faction am i a part of? please make that second of choosing while i shotgun your face!" and "SKULL MASK SO SPOOK MUCH BONE"
3. cone of fire, unlimited running, personal resources, limited player deployables, no ai/NPC assistances (no auto-turrets) literally no tank turret stablizing until a few months ago -- from all the way back since fucking release!
4. 50+ bases per map that scatters playerbase uselessly, 0 organization, 0 point to being a "commander" of brainless retards, 0 faction pride outside of balance-bitching.
5. no actual balance despite everyone literally having identical guns, because it takes upwards of 3 headshots to kill someone traveling aproximately 10kph at all times.
You playing on Master (highest) difficulty, bro? It's WAY more fun and a nicer experience overall, once you learn not to get killed
With that, you should be able to shoot dem bandits a few times even with an mp5 and bring them down (although I will say that even in Master, it feels like enemies are a bit too bulletspongey, especially with the starting weapons like the pistols, MP5 and short AK)
Aim for the head, and get gudder funz
1 - Yeah the rebind thing sucks, but the stock controls are perfectly viable and let you pull off whatever you want to pull off.
2. The fixed the color coverage issue with Vanu, the weird camos do still suck, and they have dozens of lore friendly helmets after the skull ones got shat on by the community.
3.Excluding the COF which really isn't a big deal I actually prefer every single one of those things.
4. Lattice system?
5. This is just outdated/bullshit, balance is great. Time to kill is personal preference.
tl;dr - Your info is outdated and the game is still a fucking blast.
Which S.T.A.L.K.E.R is commonly considered the best? I'd like have very limited money, but this type of gameplay sound like exactly what I'm in the mood for. Do I get Shadow of Chernobyl or Call of Pripyat?
I've got loads of /k/-approved games, enough that I don't think I should list them all.
Been playing Far Cry 2 with Dylan's mod installed. It's breddy gud.
Been playing RO2 and insurgency on my laptop half decently for a while now but next week my first proper desktop rig arrives and I will be there for the /k/arabiner night in style. Please don't disappoint.
> trying to start an arguement with me about objective facts like how fucking not-purple the VS are
0/10 attempt. if you actually played the fucking game you'd know what you were talking about
You too? I'm pretty sure that the militant squads are just kinda like volunteers and conscripts mixed in with actual soldiers such as pic related. I'm not to sure how the whole NOD military works.
Depends which STALKER really.
Shadow Of Chernobyl has Autumn Aurora 2 which makes the game look amazing
Clear Sky has Clear Sky Complete, a nice pack of mods that makes a second run through really worth while.
And Call of Pripyat has the MISERY mods. An attempt by the community to turn it into a proper survival game. Graphics wise for CoP. You're better of with AtmosFear. If you're PC can run it that is.
You could also take an alternative route.
Yes, it fixes the gunplay entirely. No more one mag per kill bullshit, guns do a good amount of damage (7.62x51mm to the chest, this kills the African, if you want a little bit of details). Patrols chase you a little less often, although the spawn rates for patrol posts are still crazy.
Also install SweetFX and enjoy the beautiful graphics as a plus.
Trust me man, the game is fun as fuck with Dylan's. You absolutely need it.
>level 4 Garand
level 50 every weapon both theaters master race reporting in
Just go with red dragon, you can totally ignore ALB at this point...maybe get EE on a sale if you like to play single player.
As for me i'm somewhat good at it but i always get pubstomped because of mates that think that sending tanks onto towns is a good idea.
Oh and lets not even talk about that people that bring 8 MRLS at the game start and cry about hey man lemme use your fobs. I mean one (or 2 in case of cluster MRLS) is ok at game start if the guy knows hist shit, but that never happens.
Not all gunplay but I picked up Last of us for the PS4 and have been playing it all night.
Shit game for casuals who know nothing about guns and ballistics.
>M4a4= 2-3 burst-fire to the head for a kill
>Ak47=1 shot to the head for a kill
In reality any shot to the head is a kill
Stooopid CS:Go logic!
>muh realism so it's bad
Ever think that maybe the goal of CS isn't realism?
>freekill skrub detected
>buy best planes
None of the premium planes are the ''best planes''.
>buy crew upgrades
You can Expert your crew for free, although to Ace them you need Golden Eagles, so this is 50/50 true.
>buy plane upgrades
You can buy them for free.
>buy replacement planes
For arcade only. Arcade mode is babbymode so nobody gives a shit about that mode.
>buy more plane slots
Again, it only matters in arcade. You can just train one crew to fly every single plane and bam, you're good to fly RB and SB.
You sound like a fag that can't take a joke. Unless you met Never-say-apple who is the asshole Lithuanian that says "ur mum m8 top kek" jokes all goddamn day.
7.62 High Calibre with the Blue sun mod and Silvergirl armory on top of it, adding 200+ more weapons on top of Blue sun.
Shit game, that's coming from somebody that used to make money off it. One of the most toxic communities out there, more bugs than at beta, Valve only caring for adding weapon skins and stickers and not actual content.
If you're going for realism, nope. They nerfed all CT side weapons because babies kept crying about "bbbbut muh 1 hit M4 2 op" when T side weapons are objectively better. They fucked up wallbanging and changed the aesthetic on a timeless map to compensate.
Oh no, I mean you all literally sounded like 15 year olds on a minecraft TS server.
I don't even mean that to be an insult, though I assume it is. I just genuinely thought I'd have something other than.. that, in a /k/ ts.
Modern Warfare 3.
>inb4 unrealistic arcade shit
I play games to relax and have fun. To me, that's running around as a Russian monarchist jacked up on coke with a silenced SMG getting shoved up britbong anal cavities, NOT reenacting a war.
On higher difficulties, you take more damage, but so do enemies.
It's kinda confusing I guess, but the STALKER series was actually designed to be played on the highest difficulty iirc
LOVED BO1, just got tired after a bit. MW3 is a nice breath of fresh air., but I probably won't buy any more entries after this one. Still need to do Spec Ops, too.
I fucking love Max Payne 3, except the damn thing won't work anymore even after un-installing and re-installing both the game and social club. Keeps crashing in startup
do i need to play the misery mod to get the most /k/ experience out of stalker cop?
are there any extra weapon packs for misery cause they butchered the fal in misery by putting some shitty stock on it
You mean absolutely everything then? I don't think so.
It has great upsides and great downsides. If you get it then get /vg/'s modifications to it as well.
Might as well post another
Haven't found anything like that, guess that's the benefit of buying it late.
BO1 is pretty rad and definitely the best overall campaign (favorite mission is Kowloon), but No Russian is still GOAT as far as missions go.
BO1 multiplayer was pretty fun. But to be honest I preferred the way they handled class customization in BO2, the pick-10 system was awesome and allowed for a huge variety of class builds compared to every other COD out there.
I gave ghosts a try on a free weekend and it was completely un-fun. I liked all the previous COD multiplayer up until then (wasn't a huge fan of MW3 but it was still fun) but there is something about ghosts MP that just doesn't click with me
For campaign its a tie between Cod 4 and BO1.
For MP maps the undeniable winner is MW2.
and MW2 on the AlterIW client back when that was still a thing was the most fun I have ever had in a COD game.
They also included the Royal Netherlands Army in this latest patch.
>Finally got around to playing Ground Zeroes two nights ago
I was not ready for that shit
>pulling the charging handle back manually
>not just using the bolt release
I know, it makes no sense to me since literally ever other AR platform in the game does it the other way.
I only got to MW2 before I realized they're literally copying and pasting everything from one game to the other.
Then they add one tiny feature and call it REVOLUTIONARY.
The only fun thing about Treyarchs CoDs have been the zombies.
I can't even imagine how big of a steaming pile of goat shit the next one is going to be.
I am actually interested in seeing what the new game holds.
It looks like we may actually be getting some interesting new gameplay mechanics (from the exo skeletons) and Kevin Spacey's role in the game looks like it will be awesome.
>trained soldier, can't run 10 ft
>trained soldier, can't aim after running 10 ft
>trained soldier, stubs toe, bleeds out
>trained soldier, one bandage can't fix stubbed toe, bleeds out
>trained soldier, without 3 other retards I forgot how to drive a humvee
>OMG SUPER SPECIAL ELITE MUMBLE MUST BE ON
Haven't had the money to play vidya as much as I'd like the past two or three years, but I've been playing the hell out of Dark Souls 1/2 for the past several months.
It's pretty much singlehandedly expanded my weapons interest past firearms and into medieval armor/weaponry. The ingenuity behind them isn't usually as complex as firearms, but it's just as interesting. Plus, who doesn't love weapon porn?
Pic fucking related. I know it's just fiction, but look at the beauty of that armor design.
I'd stop at any camp fire where it was played.
rate my kit, stalkers.
this is mid-late game. before Jupiter Plant.
RO2 is fun
Rainbow six feels like it's trying too hard to be an elite operator who operates in only elite operations
Ive seen some gameplay of insurgency, looks pretty good.
>also, we have S.T.A.L.K.E.R. threads at least once a week
I'm just going to guess that it seems like (just a guess) peace through power is something similar to what a pro gunner would say (Armed Community = Polite Community) and so, to be "Politically correct" they became terrorists
>just a guess
>mfw trying to play the multiplayer
What an awful unbalanced pile of shit, and nearly all the games are hosted in fucking south america because those fucks love that game to live out their jungle monkey fantasies.
this. it's fucking great.
depends on the server. I like to play on the "True Grit" servers, a bunch of regulars go on there and they're all pretty cool.
i love the free weekends
>mowing down noobs left and right while singlehandedly taking the objective because your team knows fuckall about what's going on
I've been playing mostly point and click adventure games on my laptop.
When I feel like playing something more /k/ related I lean towards Insurgency, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, DayZ, and a few real time strategies.
maybe I'll give it a try.
I am really into Insurgency right now, and played the (not really /k/ related) ArcheAge beta 3 last weekend. Shit was cash, hoping for invite to beta 4 friday.
>get a battle rifle
>everyone else is rocking their 5.56 DPS machines
>lol anon you got the gun with the worst DPS in teh game
>TFW when my warden pops their cherries in 2 shots out to ~200m
>7.62 full rifle cartridge master race feel
>Last one left
>Sneak into enemy territory
>Feel the entire team praying to Allah
>Get to their ammo depot
>3 enemies guarding it
>Sneak in, plant c4 via stealth toss
>Run out, yell "For ALLAH!" while dialing phone
>Kill all 4 of us
>I lead us as one entity, taking point after point
>entire chat is allah praise
Oh, hey, another Archeage bro. You in Jormungandr?
Which raifu? I've wanted a PS2 battle raifu, but I hate the thought of being confined to infiltrator.
Well, different factions have different effective battle rifles.
If you're playing Terran Republic, and why aren't you you fucking faggot, the battle rifle is easily out classed by better rifles in the game.
Medic: Saber 13
SNIPAH: Nothing, you shit bird. You're only good for scout darts you rouge wanna be turd burglar.
INFANTRY MASTER RACE
I remember the good ol days on Planetside 2 in the Enclave...I miss those Ops...too bad PS2 has shit the bed as far as I am concerned.
BUT yeah pretty much what this guy said.
The stats on all of the battle rifles are identical, according to the wiki.
I played TR until BR20, then went NC to tank with a bro. I miss the music, and I miss the BRRRT, but their guns seem pretty nice. I hate the grind though, and the battle rifle only costs 250 certs, so I may shell out for it. Seems like a bargain.
I'm not sure what people don't like about PS2. I played mostly just after release, and got back into it with my NC friend. There have been some good improvements, and certs come easier. Servers were consolidated, and populations seem pretty good. I dislike the territory capture system now, but overall it's still fun.
Fuck, I came so very close to getting Max Payne to work, and then I finally encountered the root of the problem. Logging in to Social Club causes the fucking game to crash.
canadian reserve here, this is a c7 (canuk m16). In the "urban op" course i did this summer (MOUT in the US IIRC) a bunch of the instructors us to do that. They said it was somehow better that using the bolt release.
that's weird, man. I don't know any other entity that does that, but hey if it's your training then it's your training. Then again, our guys carry M9s with the safeties on, so maybe it's a classic case of over formality in the military.
TE for life, motherfucker. #Buzzwasright
The only way worth playing the game is in an organized fashion. I only ever play the game when I can control a squad of players but it becomes extremely stressful. Here's why:
Most new players do not grasp the hard mechanics of the game. Either the gameplay or the general gun-play. Most players do not understand the importance of squad cohesion and balance. The ratio of needed medics and engineers to damage dealers (ALL HA, ALL THE TIME).
Most of the time I lead public squads in a vain attempt to teach new players the basic fundamentals of the game, but generally just end up screaming at kids for doing retarded things they ought to know better than doing.
Like, say, standing in doorways.
7.62 High Calibre with the blue sun mod and Silvergirl armory.
I dunno, man. I won't pretend that I'm good, I struggle to maintain a 1:1 KDR as infantry, and I'm not fantastic with vehicles either, though being poorly certed probably has a lot to do with that. I play with a couple friends, and we generally run around in libs, tanks, and harassers. We do ok, and we have fun. And I always enjoyed being part of the zerg.
What tips would you offer someone who's bad at infantry, by the way?
So infantry combat in PS2 is ridiculously unbalanced and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Here's a quick readers digest version of the game:
Blue Team (NC): Hardest hitting, slowest firing. Relies heavily on squad placement and situation dependent weapons
VS: Fast firing, zero bullet drop weapons with small magazine capacity. Virtually unrivaled in close quarters or mid-ranged. Can spray and pray, but far more effective when aiming down the sights.
TR: Somehow the balanced of the two. Weapons that are ok in most situations but excellent at none.
My best advice for you in doing better in an infantry setting is understanding the purpose of the weapon you're using. Don't hammer with a screw driver and don't try to screw with a hack-saw.
That doesn't make any sense to me. You're not doing well at close range so you want a slower firing, somewhat harder hitting rifle? Just pick up a gauss saw, bro.
Tell you what. I'll get on Emerald right now on my NC dude named Saladjin and show you what I know. I fucking love hosing stuff with the gauss saw and screaming about freedum.
Resources are all gathered on an individual basis. Continents can be locked...kinda...
The games meta is shit. It's still a furious free for all team death match with some vehicle elements. I strongly recommend not ever ever playing planetside 2. If for no other reason than to fuck over SOE.
We need more 7.62 gifs and webms. Men of War (god-tier detailed RTS from the same guys) is perfect for gifs, 7.62 would be too.
It's funny, the two games share a ton of design philosophy. Looks like they're even on similar engines.
>Not playing RO2 and Insurgency with your fellow /k/ommandos
>not being part of glorious /k/arabiner
We play video games almost every day but usually we play RO2 every friday night and Insurgency every saturday night, those two are guaranteed, the rest is whenever we feel like. Also we started playing Arma2.
We're not /pol/ okay
You going to be in CBT this weekend? I'm hoping I can get my boat up. I played a month on the Russian servers, the best of the game is at sea.
I joined the steam group a while back, but I'm pretty bad at RO2, and since I'm living with my family for the next month until I can get an apartment, I'm loath to use voice chat. I don't have Insurgency, unfortunately.
The problem I've always had with getting videos, or even screenshots is that every firefight is a mess of me trying to direct the individual guys in my squad around and monitoring their every move. With Assault Squad its similar. Are there any mods for it beyond the original campaigns? Because in the Campaigns its basically you fighting endless waves of enemies while you have limited resources
