We have a bit of a terrorist problem right now:
They are targeting soldiers at the moment, but I suppose civilians are next. Wish I could carry my guns.
"I heard dozens of gunshots and the smell of gunpowder is heavy in the hallways right now"
"The talk from cops is that there was believed to be one suspect but they are searching the building now and saying it is not safe."
"Ottawa police tactical officers are here and very kindly pointed their guns at every reporter, ordering hands in the air and us to ground"
This is the beginning of the end.
Kiss our guns goodbye. It's ogre.
Local Radio News
Sounds like 1 soldier was hit outside the war museum with a shotgun.
Another attacker on parliament with a rifle of some kind, CTV camera man reported he got 1 shot off before security returned fire with 6 shots.
>"Ottawa police tactical officers are here and very kindly pointed their guns at every reporter, ordering hands in the air and us to ground"
I'm sad for you guys up north.
It was at the National War Memorial:
Over the summer 3 RCMP were murdered, and it didn't derail the firearms reforms announced recently. I don't think Canada will see big improvements any time soon, but I don't see us getting worse than now.
The Cons need as many votes as they can get, pissing off gun owners now would be a bad idea.
Huh, I'm american, but when I was talking to my mom who hates guns she said that with all this ISIS attempted beheadings and threats of violence she sees where people are coming from now when they carry. I pointed out that it's extremely unlikely that anything like that would happen to her, she said she knows but still sees the benefit. Could a similar reaction happen in Canada?
Do you think the shooter is apologizing every time he pulls the trigger?
That being said, you frostbacks seem to be more civil about things. When they come for your guns, propose the one and only counter argument that's guaranteed to work.
>Soldier shot at parliament
>Gun control: if it saves one life it's worth it!
>But he's already dead.
even if it is ISIS or an ISIS sympathizer
>ISIS has nothing to do with islam!
Everyone's so friendly here.
>Hey Hazziz how you doin'? Did you catch Vancouver losing the cup again! Fuckin' hosers, eh?
>You alright Hazziz?
>Never better Kuffar- err- Mike... hehehe..
>Be seeing you, neighbour!
>Later that day
Well, the last killer was a neckbeard, so that was a good guess. Unfortunately for your second point, he was also Muslim.
Shots fired near Canada parliament - BBC NEWS
>Witnesses reported seeing a man running toward the government buildings, which have been placed on lockdown.
>A soldier has been wounded in the attack, Canadian media report.
>The incident comes amid the nation's raising of its terror threat level from low to medium, after a Muslim convert was killed by Quebec police after hitting two soldiers with his car.
>"Shots fired at War Memorial at 9:52am today; one person injured," Ottawa Police tweeted on Wednesday.
>A government official earlier said the raised threat level was in response to an increase in online "general chatter" from radical groups including Islamic State and al-Qaeda.
>Ministry spokesman Jean-Christophe de Le Rue said on Tuesday that the increased level "means that intelligence has indicated that an individual or group within Canada or abroad has the intent and capability to commit an act of terrorism".
You don't hide restricted firearms, as they are registered. As for everything else, cosmoline, one large PVC pipe, endcaps and one slightly smaller PVC pipe.
>implying the cons would confiscate guns from their core voters
I don't believe this. You are probably a subversive Muslim yourself.
Canadian muslims are all bad news. Either they are already radical or they simply came here from their horrible country but they still hate everyone and everything about our society here.
This plants the seeds for radical Islam, which really is a bit of a redundancy. Islam is radical by nature when put up against western civilization.
this mein niggers.
You have NO idea how bad it is here.
>mfw driving by Islamic student academy
captcha; cried dorinur
Police say the shooter is still on the loose as of 10:42 am
Fucking pigs pretending to be operators. What the fuck do they need high capacity mags for?
I really, really hope this is another Muslim like the one who attacked the soldiers in Quebec 2 days ago.
I don't want it to be some retard who got banned from CGN for being too "patriotic" about his anti-government rants.
>but I don't see us getting worse than now.
>The Cons need as many votes as they can get, pissing off gun owners now would be a bad idea.
Fucking truth right here. Canada seems way less reactionary than the US of A anyways.
"There's a guy running around with a gun," says cop. "There are multiple assailants. I know it's not a secure scene."
Left handed Sig Sauer toting operators represent!
Shooting a soldier at the base of a war memorial. That is all kinds of fucked up.
PLEASE BE ISIS PLEASE BE ISIS PLEASE BE ISIS
I wouldn't go that far, but this:
?Gerry Byrne @Gerry_Byrne · 15m 15 minutes ago
Can't do any interviews. We are in lock down. Staying silent until lock down ended. Security forces aware of where I am."
is fucking retardedly self absorbed
The bad part is that it was probably a soldier standing there for ceremonial purposes and his rifle wasn't even loaded.
SHOOTING VIDEO SHOOTING VIDEO SHOOTING VIDEO
Justin Trudeau is now rushing to the scene to deflect any and all criticism against the religion of peace and will instead blame our hostile western culture for not being "inclusive" enough to religious minorities.
Clearly he doesn't know anything about counter terrorism. In the 2008 Mumbai raid, Pakistani assault teams and their coordinators monitored twitter to stay ahead of police. When the terrorists went into the Taj Mahal they were able to locate civilians who had tweeted that their hiding spot inside the building.
You should probably stop voting for that shithead Stephen Harper, Canada.
The police are highly trained professionals and they would never do such a thing.
This is why we need more gun control in Canada. Nobody needs guns but the military and police.
CNN is saying the shooter is dead
(CNN) -- A "lone gunman is deceased" after shots were fired in Ottawa, Canada, a member of the nation's Parliament, Bob Zimmer, tweeted Wednesday.
My bad - there's vid on Sky attributed to Globe and Mail with fuck all vision - just that hall - but what sounds like more than a dozen pistol shots and some heavier rifle shots - I URL'd the video on their homepage thinking it was the same footage.
I failed you /k/ - I will sudoku now. Who wants my stuff?
>my reaction to the news
Like seriously. I'm one of the big liberal Canadian posters (and gun lovers!) around here... but even I'm going to concede that the backlash from this might really -really- screw us all over.
>inb4 false flag
Nah, this is Canada. It's just someone being fuckin' crazy.
You know how you get pissed off when ignorant teenagers skateboard on a war memorial? This is like that but worse.
>reports of shots fired at a hotel in Ottawa - may or may not be related
>Conflict News @rConflictNews 3s3 seconds ago
Police in #Ottawa are asking people to not tweet locations or images of police.
Are the police monitoring /k/ and saw this? >>23319028
@rConflictNews isn't bad
I'm glad i'm not the only one who keeled over laughing at how delicately the officer put the "non-traunatic bleeding...from the rectum, with a little jaundice."
No word on that black motorcycle as of yet eh?
Though, now that I see the guy is a muslim extremist... I'm not sure if that's really going to hurt our gun laws as much as before. It depends on how it plays in parliament and the media. I thought he'd be some silly french radical (which is technically true I suppose) when I saw his name.
>tfw news coverage is sticking to the facts for now
Basically you know how the tories go into power because the liberals tried this derptastic long gun registration thing?
Yeah well, now an overweight manlet (5,9-10 according to one witness) weilding a long rifle is running around parliament shooting at anything.
>Libs try to scream for more gun control
>Cons deflect that arguement, CROSS COUNTAH with blame on domestic ISIS and Muslim influence
>Libs and turbanators Royally BTFO in Her Majesty's House, no less
I would pop such a goddamn freedom boner, it could be seen from fucking space. Kind of conveniant that our military gets targeted (as well as our government) right after we agree to chuck some freedom at ISIS.
They got rid of the registry - while being awesome - still hasn't fixed anything else that is wrong with our gun system.
And I'm not jumping straight into muh full autos muh ccw. The Restricted class is entirely too... restricted. It's insanity that I can be trusted with a .308 battu raifu on crown land but plinking with a .22 handgun = direct route to jail. Not to mention all the prohibitions on the H2 semiautomatic gun, the Cz858, the SA rifles, the antiques as well as that hideous Walther G-22 or whatever it was called.
German slut press reported it too. Harper hides somewhere innawoods.
Where are the forking mounties at? Activate the Horses!
No, it'll go through- it'll look like a broken promise to the Swiss Arms and CZ owners otherwise. I don't think we'll see improvements to it, however. I was hoping for simplification of the Antiques rules.
>This only inflames American hatred of ISIS even further
OH NOW YOU FUCKERS HAVE GONE AND DONE IT
YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE HOT SHIT, DIDN'T YOU, MAYBE FUCK WITH OUR HAT FIRST, SHOW US YOU'RE SERIOUS
NIGGER, YOU DO NOT FUCK WITH OUR HAT.
Honestly, if I were the government I'd alert everyone to the threat of insurgency and immediately bring into law the ability to carry firearms in public, turning the population into a home defense force.
Nadians payed with their blood again. For U.S.A
>I'm getting live news on a major incident from Instagram
>I hate myself a little, /k
Is it weird that as an American, the thought of terrorists attacking Canada pisses me off more than attacks on my own country?
Pic related, mf if this is mudslime shenanigans/
Watchin live http://globalnews.ca/news/1628313/shots-fired-at-war-memorial-in-ottawa-says-witness/
It's likely "ISIS inspired" and it will definitely help me win an argument I had about ISIS stirring shit up in Canada. My friend, like most Canadians, uses the old mantra "everyone likes Canada!" to avoid thinking about the shitty security situation that the world is in.
Well guess what, Ostriches... They're fucking here.
A) Doesn't it?
B) He just proposed running around
>It's just a Muslim problem
>It's just a nigger problem
>it's just a spic problem
>it's just a white trash problem
>It's just a young white male problem
>it's just a US veteran problem
They lock their Bases. Man they are scared as fuck.
In Kilcullen's newest book "Out of the Mountains" he predicts that the 2008 Mumbai raids will be a template for future attacks. I suggest /k/ommandos read it if they want a good look into future conflicts.
>Sergeant at arms Larry Vickers reported to have downed gunman as he entered parliament hill. Vickers, a former police officer has a handgun in his office, that he is permitted to have, which he trains with regularly for events such as this. His office is apparently located in close proximity to the front entrance.
I dunno, I feel like I'm fucked up for thinking the two drunk dumbasses who pissed on the national war memorial were more disrespectful to soldiers than this guy.
When you pile murder on top of everything else, it's worse of course, but I also reason he was going to murder people, no matter where he went.
Now, something else to think on...
What he's done is actually going to make things so much worse for his side than if he'd shot up the mall. There's a general level of respect (note, not adoration) for veterans, and we don't like it when people fuck with our memorials.
>"We were waiting there for a city tour and suddenly I heard four shots," said Jan Luchtenburg, a tourist visiting downtown Ottawa from Holland.
"Suddenly I saw a small guy with long black hair... with a long rifle, and he ran away after the shots, across streets in the direction of Parliament Hill," he said.
take bets on his motive
>CNN is saying

BREAKING: Canada police say shots also fired at a mall near Parliament: AP
Because then it ignites the Canadian revolution. What better call to arms than the destruction of a corrupt parliament, on a night dedicated to a man dedicated to destroying tyranny.
Too bad that kind of shit wont happen in America.
If k isn't listening to Nicola and Bart right now, Im going to be disappointed.
Mostly inference from MO and the climate and targets.
>Mudslime runs over two soldiers two days ago
>Canadian Parliament decides to help assist BTFO ISIS
>First casualty is a soldier
>Multiple incidents in multiple places is an AQ - and by extrapolation ISIS - hallmark
Not like Turdeau though, he will no doubt go out screaming that this has nothing to do with Islam. He could be beheaded by people screaming praises to Allah, assuring everyone it isn't related to Islam at all
>Where is everyone getting the islamic terrorist idea from?
>Like I'd rather that and it would make sense, but is there any evidence of it?
This is the second attack on a canadian soldier this week.
The last attack on Monday was carried out by an angry ISIS supporter who had been previously arrested a few months ago for tryign to get to syria to wage Jihad.
He was released from custody and put of a watch list "because radicalized email, vows to destroy western civilization, and a failed attempt to get to syria were not enough evidence to confirm that he was a Jhadist".
He then used his car to run down two Canadian soldiers, killing one of them.
Yes, this could be completely unrelated, but two attacks on Canadian soldiers in the same week is more than just a little suspicious.
>the assailant within the HoC was killed by Sergeant at Arms Kevin Vickers, who used privately owned handgun he kept in his desk
>this also means that cellular explosives can't be detonated right?
i would have thought if a bomb was going to be used it would be used at the start of an attack, once the shooting starts people tend to scatter
also earlier today Canada's police said that there is increased chance of terrorist attack as they interrupted dangerous messages in Muslim forums in internet. Also suspect are wearing Muslim scarfs!
Yeah but remember we live in the age of liability - if they had jammers and didn't use them and someone DID detonate a device their arseholes would look like the inside of a barrel
THE MAPLE SYRUP MARAUDERS ARE COMING TO FUCK UP EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IN SIGHT. ALL THE SHIT THEY DONT PUSH IN, IS GOING TO GET SLAPPED. HARD.
JTF2 REPPIN HARD, STRAIGHT BANGING THUGS.
I have a feeling janitors are more likely to go nuts and shoot up the place.
Years of pouring cat litter on puke, cleaning shit out of urinals and all that probably doesn't do a person good
>Libs try to scream
>both of them
I KNEW she was up to no good, probably got shot ON PURPOSE as an elaborate talibani plot to murder the prime minister of america!
Islamics aren't the only demographic out there with a direct beef against the Canadian state and the Canadian military.
see: natives, separatists, ultra-nationalists, /pol/, etc.
Malala was getting a honorary Canadian Citizenship today.
Isis is mad?
>look how terrible ISIS is, they're killing civilians in Syria an Iraq
>the obvious alternative is to kill ISIS, and the civilians, with incendiaries
2000 - The Brigade d'autodéfense du français bombs a church where an English fundraiser was to be held.
2001 - Quebec - The FLQ/The Brigade d'autodéfense du français firebombs three "Second Cup" locations in Montreal. They were targeted because of the company's use of its incorporated English name "Second Cup". Rhéal Mathieu, a previously convicted FLQ terrorist was convicted for all three bombings. Seven McDonald's restaurants were also firebombed.
September 4, 2012 - The night of the Quebec provincial elections, Richard Bain, an anglophone Quebecer attempted to assassinate Parti Québécois leader and Premier elect Pauline Marois at a victory gathering in Montreal. He also set fire to the Metropolis concert hall where the event was being held. A man was killed and another was injured in the terrorist act. It is said that Bain's ultimate goal was to kill Marois following the Parti Québécois victory. Bain, who was arrested shortly after the attack, is currently incarcerated and awaits a bail hearing on the 29th of July.
Fuck off Abdul, Harpers gov may have brought in a whole shit load of Chinese & Philippines, but they cut down on your Muslim immigration buddies 100 fold.
He's a hero (or should I say Jason Kenny is).
>tfw they got them in the US and smuggled them through the woods.
Around that much. Funny story, I'm working in South Vancouver right now and my wife told me that there's someone with an AR wandering around here.
I'm an industrial first aid attendant. I'll call it a day at work and head out to any mass casualty events if they happen.
canuck operators go
>oh noes, they have a religious school
So do the Catholics, hell I went to a public school that had a couple nuns teaching, so what else is new? Quit being a cowardly paranoid bitch.
Catholic schools don't teach anti-westernism, kid.
>Serjant at arms responsible for safety of MPs
>Teacher responsible for safety of children
Police didn't even kill him, it was the Sergeant at Arms, using his own CC handgun
