I consider to buy a Gorka, but i'd like to hear some Pro's and Con's from /k/.
Also, where are the best places to buy one.
Gorka is ISIS/10
and Varusteleka or Soviet-Power are the best places to buy them
Gorka's are alright, definitely better and inexpensive alternatives. They're usually only water resistant at best unless you treat them with wax or spray. Work well as an outer layer in both the summer and winter with layers underneath. Try to buy from a reputable dealer over ebay, sure it'll be more expensive, but you'll be getting the real deal, not some shit put together in a slavs basement and sold on ebay to the slavaboos.
Legit ones and clones:
Sizing: since gorkas are oversuits they're pretty big, so if you want to wear them like normal cloths you should get 1-2 sizes smaller
I read in one of the slavaboos forums that they answer orders in English, but I don't know if that still works with the whole boycott going on.
Simplest would be to order from some English language shop, but they tend to price the same stuff 50-100% more
two types of faggots. Those with gorka4s and those without gorka4s.
Personally, I have one.
No, they are hot as all fuck, even the summer variants. They also protect from just about every element ever to exist as they have inner straps that tighten on everything and if you wear it right, you are set. They go through snow like it ain't no thing. They hold against freezing fucking wind too and I have a summer version. Its made of what good duffel bags are made of but has a weather-proof coating on the outside of it.
well I am both
and I live in MA right now and have been wearing this thing to clean snow every other day. Wearing jeans and a cotton shirt under it and I've been sweating my balls off while the wind chill has been -40 and its 0 degrees out raining shit and snow all night.
Yes you are supposed to layer underneath but you are also fucking using it to work so of course it'll get too hot in there. Its designed properly but there's no "breathing" in it. Its literally a sack.
crack cocaine. Fuck I don't know, its just slav-tier engineering at its usual pace. LOOK IT PROTECTS YOU FROM EVERYTHING EVER!!... YOUR GONNA WANNA TAKE IT OFF AFTER 20 MINUTES OF WORKING THOUGH.
From the sounds of it, any hard shell jacket will do the same thing, be much lighter and more breathable, and only marginally more expensive.
Or conversely, it sounds like my $20 Czech coat does the exact same thing for $80 less.
gorka 3 blockpost sposn bars splav
gorka 4 blockpost and bars
gorka 2m bars
mfw I spent too much on slav surp
it's mostly cotton so you can wear decent amount while working in with it on. it will just fuck your shit it's cold and wet. cotton still kills..
these are just tac/fa/g new orgasmammam shit.
If you're getting a gorka make sure its made by SSO/SPOSN. that is the brand Russian military and Special forces use. I recomend you get a gorka-e.
When it gets much hotter than your body temperature (so about 100 degrees F) wearing jackets will keep you cooler since it traps your body heat and keeps it at 98 while keeping the hotter air out.
Comfortable, strong, plenty of pockets and the thing will take a 50 MPH gust of wind like a whore takes dick, it doesn't give a shit. You'll be toastier than... well, toast.
I haven't really found any. I love mine. I have the one with the large pocket on the chest though, I prefer that one.
>Where to buy
Frontowiec.com or Varusteleka.
Why do people like these?
They aren't camo, and look like wind breakers.
I'm being serious right now. If members of IS are wearing them, they're probably legit and have been vetted.. as they kind of fight everyday..
Man .... I want one of the Afghanistan-Era gorkas that the Special Forces used
They're heavy, don't breath, aren't really water-proof and are undestroyable. If you want a good modern suit for camping or hunting I'd go with something Western. If you want one for the novelty go for it, they're bretty cool.
Get something good and get a Witterjngsschutzjacke 09: http://www.a-shop.ch/product.php?id_product=210.
Best jacket ever, keeps you dry and warm. First thing I did in it was walk up a steep hill and then sit at the windy top. I didn't have to adjust the zipper once beyond some cm for comfort (all longer jackets tend to ride up when sitting)
Actually that photo was proven by someone not to be soviet afghan.
Definitely. By them time I'm 40 my kids will think it's the coolest thing ever to wear baggy clothes and wind breakers again.
I outgrew my baggy clothes phase in '05, so it's only fair I deal w/ a teenager doing it.
The Afghanka is the khaki cotton field uniform that was standardized in the 1980s for the regular forces. It has a layout similar to American BDU like pic related.
This is what the original Soviet Gorka looks like. Notice the frontal thigh pockets.
>kid finds your gorka in the attic
>DAD can I wear this for my video series
>he comes downstairs in it, it fits him like shit and he looks like such a pathetic nerd
>yeah sure son whatever have fun (holy shit how did that kid come out of my nuts)
>kid gets on youtube
>Slavshit Report of the Week
Just got my Gorka 4 in from Varusteleka.
I love their company, for an international order and a shitty storm we had, it got here a lot faster than i thought it would.
Just put in another order in to them, Gotta get that Vita Cola and a warmer Anorak.
120Euro/140 USD doesn't seem overpriced to me. But then again i wanted the real thing.
And this is the updated model which came out in 1984.
The only "real" modern Gorkas are those made by SPOSN, in the sense that they are the official suppliers of the various specialized FSB and MVD units.
If you're looking for a legit field uniform I recommend the Arc'teryx Leaf. It's a bit expensive but it's worth every penny, and you can wear it during winter and summer. I wore the leaf almost every day for three months in some serious arctic conditions in Northern Europe and I can tell you from experience that it is legit. Several European SF units are also equipped with this.
Its not legit...but...
but I really want it anyways.
You may or may not know that the female body is not the same as the male body. They have to account for differences in thighs, chest, and waist
Gorka is God tier but be prepared to throw on some extra layers or a liner if it gets shit Fuck cold
fuck is that actually the story behind Report of the Week?
You most likely live in the south where camo is acceptable. North of the Mason Dixie line you'll look like an absolute idiot. In the south I see country boys wearing camo all day everyday. Moved to VA and I see NO ONE wearing it.
If I saw someone in camo here I'd think they were autists.
Back home? No big deal.
Sadly on a board infatuated with an army/region that hasn't imposed their will in decades.
A board that romanticizes the AK, Mosin and SKS, but degrades the far superior AR.
A board who would recommend a Tokarev over a Glock.
All in all, I'm among pretty shit company, but occasionally they have decent advice.
>A board that romanticizes the AK, Mosin and SKS, but degrades the far superior AR.
A board who would recommend a Tokarev over a Glock.
/k/ommandos are poor so it's no surprise that this is the type of advice that is common on this board
That and a lot of /k/, like myself, finds themselves wanting these things. Then realizing they'll never wear them out in public around people. Then struggling to find ANY situation where they'd used them, perhaps aside from innawoods, which many of us don't even have access to. But despite all that, we still want them. Just like I want my goddamn flektarn flak jacket that I can't think of any reason to have, besides wanting it.
That and at least, because these aren't camo, they're less likely to get weird reactions in public besides "that's an ugly jacket thing" which will probably never lead to any comments/conversation from strangers, vs various camo patterns, which are just begging for unwanted interactions with strangers
Are gorka 4's even legit, or is that just the numbering of one of the the cheaper clones?
Splav has a 4 and a 5 model, but they don't look like the pictures in most of the shops online
The legit ones have letters after them instead of numbers, for example the Gorka E (the oak leaf camo ones) and Gorka C (looks identical to a Gorka 3, but brighter colored.)
sorry I meant that the Gorka C looks like a brighter Gorka 4, here's an example
they're like fucking combat onsies, you don't need a specific fit.
It's always going to be very loose fitting, that's how it was designed.
I said "like" a onsei, the point is they're loose and really comfy, just look how comfy this fucker is
here's a sizing list for you /k/unts
5'2" = 158cm = 1
5'5" = 164cm = 2
5'7" = 170cm = 3
5'9" = 176cm = 4
6'0" = 182cm = 5
6'2" = 188cm = 6
33/28in = 84/72cm = 42
35/30in = 88/76cm = 44
36/31in = 92/80cm = 46
38/33in = 96/84cm = 48
39/35in = 100/88cm = 50
41/36in = 104/92cm = 52
43/38in = 108/96cm = 54
44/39in = 112/100cm = 56
46/41in = 116/104cm = 58
47/43in = 120/108cm = 60
49/44in = 124/112cm = 62
50/46in = 128/116cm = 64
small gorka sizes are rare but i would say a 44/2 would be ideal for proper baggy. since you're a small grill i'd definitely get the closest one to your size or lower, definitely wouldn't oversize. these are meant to be worn over clothing and have a loose fit so if you didn't want to wear clothing under them then always size down
gorka 4 have the kangaroo pouch
Ahh, so that explains it
It's too bad that innawoods.net doesn't have a gorka
Or anything in flora, digital flora, winter VSR, or any of the other Russian stuffs ...
Though they do have Russian woodland so there's that ....
>I recommend the Arc'teryx Leaf
I'd recommend saving several hundreds of dollars and just getting commercial GoreTex hunting gear.
