can we get a good ole fashion WA thread?
>post places to shoot, discuss good/bad lgs
general wa thread
this is a decent place out in sultan that an anon showed me a while ago, prob going out there tomorrow
my family has 10 acres but its on the side of a mountain and the only spot to shoot is like 30 yards long. how much does your father in law have?
I actually have no idea, most of it's heavily wooded. He bought it and planted a house on it in like 2001 and has been cutting down trees for firewood every year since. He's cleared enough of the backyard to have 55 yards if you're shooting from the patio, or about 100 yards if you don't mind shooting lengthwise across the yard.
Federal way. Suburb smack dab in the middle of Seattle and Tacoma. Theres a alright lgs/indoor range, called discount guns. Has a pretty good selection. I remeber back when it was a ghetto ass store on the side of pac highway with barred windows and now it's a damn mini cabellas
i met a grill from benton county a month ago, she was the ultimate qt
the discount guns here sucks ass. they have like 5 guns on the wall, over priced ammo, and $100 transfers
it is pretty bad sometimes, i always clean my shit up though. ill see how bad it is tomorrow
I frequent that spot very often and went out there and filled 2 45 gallon trash cans of shit. One of the local brass rats said the sheriff comes by and said DNR was seriously considering closing that sight off.
Clean it the fuck up. Even if it isnt your shit.
That being said, its a nice spot, plenty of friendly people go there.
pic is me splodin a cabbage at the spot
No problem man. They sell cheap gear and the owner will shoot the shit with you. I brought in a YHM front sight and traded the owner for 2 pmags, pretty chill place and the whole trading thing is fairly cool.
My buddies and I found a really good spot to shoot and camp out in the logging roads north of Washougal. There are popular spots in that area too with the rednecks that get trashed with garbage but our spot is special. There's a U-shaped road that goes all the way around a ridge from one mountain to another, you set up targets on one side then drive back to the other and it's a nice 250-300yd rifle range. Rednecks can't shoot that far so it's safe.
If you are shooting across that road the reason the rednecks don't do it is because it is illegal in the state of washington.
You can't shoot across roads you fucking gook.
My brother-in-law's worked summers in a water treatment place while going to class in Bothell for the last few years. Started it just on a whim and liked it enough that he goes back each year.
whats good to you? depending on where you work itll be starting around 25-30hr. there are 5 operator levels as you increase in level your pay does too. at my plant level 4 (highest) make close to 85k thats non manager
i live with my mom in lynnwood so commute i guess even though its a 5 min drive at that
is he trying to get on at a plant or just doing it for summers?
>is he trying to get on at a plant or just doing it for summers?
Just for the summers, he just recently graduated. I feel weird realizing this since he's my brother-in-law but I don't know if he's got a job yet.
Holy fuck you idiot delete this picture. That is way fucking illegal. Read the fucking laws about where you are allowed to shoot.
not that close to roads or buildings.
enjoy jail gook. don't tell me the law, i'm doing you a solid
Have any of you heard anything about the BLM land off of SR240 near the tri cities? A bunch of the rednecks used to go shooting there but rumor has it a nearby land owner was filing noise complaints so the sheriffs were going out and ticketing people right and left. Anybody got information? Or is less of a coward than I am and willing to call the benton sheriffs office and confirm?
>I've been to kenmore but they're range rules are just fucking stupid.
this, this and this
this is the closest place that i know of, depending on traffic you can get there in 30-45 mins worth the drive though
While your spot is pretty cool and looks fun as fuck. Yes you are shooting illegally. If the road can be accessed by the public than it is a public road and yep shooting across roads IS a felony.
Although I doubt youll get brought up on it cause rednecks dont give a shit and neither would anyone else. Just be aware of what youre doing and know your shit. Basic stuff when it comes to shooting. Nice Galil btw
Of course anon,
after we go to the ffl for a 4473 of course ;)
>mom "gifted" me an ar lower and said she wont do it again, so no handgun
dad is outta the picture
cant find anyone willing to sell me one under the table even though the shit law in not enforced
Nigga, please. This is prime hunting and public land shooting turf. Dat beautiful rural scenery.
It also helps that I'm living in my grandparents basement, a couple of miles outside of town.
I think you meant to say Shaneco
My folks live around Maple Valley. Hopefully some closer kommando will step up, but I could help you two out between quarters, i.e. middle of December at the earliest. Unless we abused the postal system, heheh.
You mean you've never heard the Shaneco ad a million times on the radio?
>w-wouldnt want to do this :^
No, the freedom and convenience would be horrible and the risk negligible.
I'd leave a throwaway email, but there's no email field. Maybe I'll temp pastebin it.
WA MEET SOMEWHERE NOT FIVE HOURS AWAY/AN HOUR AWAY FROM OREGON WHEN??
I was stoked to go the the one this summer until I learned it would have been a six hour drive through shitty Seattle traffic
Electronics and Communications Systems Technology.
Yes, it's in building B with all the computers.
So I take it you're not in any of the electronics programs?
What are you in for then?
It's not that, it's just that the last WA meet was like an hour away from Oregon and he and many others don't want to drive south through shitty traffic for a meet.
I'm hoping for one somewhere in the mountains in the middle of the state.
>this ain't prison
It kind of looks like one
And Uhh, no I don't.
You trying to tell me something?
Also, what gened do you have right now?
This is the first time I've been to college, I still don;t know how to feel about it right now.
Why didn't it work for you?
I'd rather be mysterious and have you wondering, watching...always questioning who's an autist and who's not.
You won't be able to find me either, I hide my powerlevel like a god, unlike some people there..
Good god, talk about a predominantly White place ceding power to non-Whites. Cuck county is appropriate a name for a county that plastered MLKoons face as their logo when he had nothing to do with the original discoverer.
I'd say the 272nd 288th area, but it's really not that bad, but im not the very sheltered kinda guy.
But yeah there's been quite a few shootings where I live.
And half of them were people I've known or people who knew the people o known that have been shot.
Okay so it's a shithole. But a shithole that hardens you the fuck u
How often do you hear gunshots in your neighborhood? Anywhere around 272nd and 288th st has a large amount of dindus and border hoppers so not surprised it's shitty. What groups do the shootings and who are the victims usually? Anyone die?
It's mostly gang violence, and not much. Some people who got shot are wrong place/wrong time, hanging out the the wrong person at that moment or people who live in the area that arnt in the lifestyle but get hit anyway. But some bangers somewhere got pissed off at some other bangers a few months ago and like 5 people iirc died so far. And a few more than that shot, and this was a 4 month or so period. Man my facebook was full of RIPs and we miss yous.
As for gunshots, not too many. But sirens and multiple cops racing to something is a nightly occurrence
Well this is me, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
There was some beaner that tried to do a drive by at crystal point apartments at 25th ave sw near 21st ave sw a couple of months ago thinking he was tough and he died because of it. Gunshot to the head. They caught the Filipino who was driving him. I swear, the more darker a place gets, the shittier. Is it common for people to get robbed around there? I mean like jumped, gunpoint/knife-point, other weapons?
Well not really, there's break ins but most folks leave you alone unless you look outs place, or your inviting to your self. Most people who get shot or robbed is because they have active beef with whoever they got robbed or shot by. Of course there's the usual innocent victim, buts it's more of a rarity. But then again I'm more used to it, it's only been recently I've been a functional member of society if that tells ya anything.
And speaking of crystal pointe apts, there was a police chase a few montha ago that led to a multi cop serch/raid in the building and ended with the crazy Meth head smashing though a 4 story window and braining himself on the concrete, went there to celebrate my birthday at a buddy House a few days later showed me the blood stains on the ground, and his car. Fucking asshole landed next to it
Oly here, usually go to capitol forest off the 101. Or Rainier has an alright gravel pit but its usually crowded on the weekends
Stop shooting across roads you fucking faggot. You're part of the reason they closed all those areas down up there. Fuck.
I love shooting up there but this shit here is why I'm afraid I'm gonna get plugged by some zipperhead who's being a fucking idiot.
Doesn't matter. I would bet you're the same stupid fuck that aims guns and dry fires at things you don't want destroyed and when someone calls you on it you just "bruh it's not loaded".
Go jump in front of a cement mixer, you stupid fuck.
Yeah man, my neighbor and I got into some shit and I almost kicked down his front door. His girlfriend was banging on my wall for 4 hours because heroin and I flipped the fuck out.
Shit was happening like every night and my lease was up so I just bailed.
I live pretty close still, up by the home depot on 128th.
>Especially since they started confiscating guns from people shooting at the pits down the road
wait what? when the fuck did that happen.
Haha so fucking true. I never used to be able to tell what the logo was, didn't figure out it was the big nig until like 9th grade.
A lot of the utility vehicles I've seen still use the crown logo, so I guess not everyone's a faggot
Monroe/Duvall bro here
It's a pretty cool area. Lots of fucking strange people walking around right by home depot, once you get back into the housing area its not bad.
How was the last WA meet up? I couldn't make it, lots a work shit and had to go out of state for a while.
i only went to the small one near granite falls, the big one was to far. i thought it went pretty good no one got hurt. we should definitely have another meetup closer to snoho and king county
Just a heads up. When you do a private sale and go into to do q transfer, you don't have to pay a sales tax. Even applies to online sales like gunbroker as long as its a non ffl your buying from
My bad yo. Took a breather. They have been going up and down the areas further down the rod that Andre clearly marked no shooting and handing out tickets and taking down plate info for cars. If they catch you after the give you a warning or ticket they can confiscate and make you come down to the station to pick up your firearms after paying the ticket.
Saw em doing it to a couple of people last time I went up there. We had just packed up and they had two sheriff cars down there and we're writing up a ticket at one spot and loading the guns up at the spot just down the road at the second berm. Idk if they were boozing or drugging while they shot but they weren't being arrested. We got the scoop from one of the brass fiends that hangs out there.
I don't know if he's full of shit or what but I only shoot at that first pit where there aren't any signs.
Lolwut? The sound area is awesome. If you can't drive like an hour to carbonado or southwest to the peninsula to go shooting, you should probably just move to a flyover state like Oklahoma.
There were. There are a couple pits right off the road tucked back in a clearing. There's a cement barricade that has a no shooting sign that's pretty weathered. Farther up the road there's the reservoir so especially no fucking around up that far.
FWDG has legitimately the WORST service in the area and they are overpriced on almost everything. Sportco in Fife is fucking awesome, and their tent sales are a great time to go get a gun, especially if you're a member. Usually, tent sale = 10% off, and membership is another 15% off. Got my Sig p320 for like $450 after tax at their last tent sale
the easiest way is to take an online class after you pass that you take the state test. if you pass that 70% or better you become a state certified operator in training (this is the 25-30).
the hardest part is finding a plant that is hiring. within the next 5 years there will be a lot of jobs opening though
im 19 and have my cert
Where would I take the online class? I seriously need to start making money, I make $10 an hour part time. I barely make enough to pay my car payment, and I really need to move out and get a place for me and my gf.
$100 gets you enrolled and the book. after you take the class you apply for the state test through the department of ecology website.
what city you in?
The people complaining about shooting at blocked off dead end roads need to kill themselves. I bet they're the same fags that go exactly 65mph in the left lane to try and speed police everyone because IT'S THE LAW. Contain your autism, literally no one gives a shit.
it is a career tbh. the majority of the industry right now is getting ready to retire so there will be loads of jobs available. i would say call the closest plant to you and ask for a tour and tell them you are interested, they will help you.
look at the cities website for a solid waste worker job it pays well and the reqs are ez.
the online one is going to be cheaper, way easier, you can do it at your own pace, literally everything you learn will be applicable to a job.
the online one is used/recognized nationwide. i will be surprised if you find an operator that hasnt taken it or heard of it
yes all online. take the wastewater treatment plant vol 1, it is enough to satisfy the states requirement to become certified.
after that you can take the next course to help with the state requirements for the next level or certification
>not dry firing at your TV
Obviously chamber check first but jesus christ man. Firearms safety is one thing but with this level of phobia you're gonna need a 3-sided action bay with real backstops just to fucking dry fire.
kek tbh fam i say it to piss you people off
i believe im on /k/ not /a/ or any of the other weebfag boards
On 4chan all boards are weebfag boards. /k/ is for weebfags who also enjoy discussing weapons. If you don't like anime you'll probably fit in better someplace like reddit. Or maybe ar15.com, they are batshit insane safety nazis over there as well.
ive fit in just fine the 6 years that i have been here. go commit some more felonies so you can go to prison
damn you got me fam i just found this shit today.
i sure love this wa general
I seem to remember there being a certain shootoff imageboard for people from /k/ who didn't like anime. Downside is it's run by a kike and full of tripfags but you can't have everything.
just because this site started out as an anime image board doesnt mean that shit is acceptable on every board.
>/k/ centers around weapons, armor, and other myriad military technology. not your anime shit
Anyone live between Issaquah and N. Bend?
The I-90 corridor leading up to the summit must have some great spots but I dont know anyone with guns and people seem to be over protective of their little hidey holes.
I just want to shoot with people and get better with my aim in the great outdoors.
It does not help that I dont have an off road capable car and all spots are outside of 500 yards of I-90.
Why would possibly one of the best areas be a deadzone? Is it hikers or outdoorsmen who pushed for that? I mean I suppose I would not blame them to a degree if that is the case...
Fuck is there anywhere good near issaquah that is not a range?
It's a dead zone because it's a major road and over the years people have worked to shut down sites for safety/garbage reasons. It sucks but happens. There are a few places out more towards the West but they are few and far between.
Cant throw a stick 3 feet in the I-90 corridor without hitting a day hiker from Seattle
I'm more concerned with the atf not accepting our sbr applications because they claim that the wording in our state constitution allows for ownership but not the manufacture of sbr's
Does any store near Puyallup to Seatac carry Century Arms? I'm specifically looking for a C39V2, and I don't want to order one online.
Depends where you are, where you want to go and which passes are open. I know that's vague as fuck but it's the truth. Also, something to be aware of is target shooting bans on public land over there occasionally arise, I've been chased off or seen signage before, after fire season I doubt it's very frequent though.
SAA carries some of their shit, the marksman as well.
Unless it was recent, I don't think so. They do occasionally post temporary no-shoot signs up there when they feel too much garbage has been left recently and technically the pit is only supposed to be open to shooting 9-5 Mon-Fri.
Depends a lot of the shops I've seen all over the are don't really stock that much of interest outside the standard shit. I'd kill for a shop for good milsurp or at least interesting stuff.
Depends on what you want. Fun state, expensive areas though. Seattle is nice to bum around in, but if you live in the city you better work there or prepare to suffer the commute. Down south towards Tacoma it's quieter but still ok. Decentish gun laws, you can get silencers, and CWL. Law states you have to do all sales through an FFL (not the worst, but still sucks).
It bums me out their online store won't allow local pickup and the retail store won't match their separate online entity's pricing.
They usually have some neat stuff on their walls though. They have way better prices on ammo at the gun shows than the retail store but as far as they could tell me it is once again technically a separate legal entity as well, the guys who run their booths aren't employees of the store. Smart to legally compartmentalize but annoying setup.
Tacompton has for the most part improved drastically over the past x years but there are definitely still some hoods there. At least it isn't Lakewood.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with Tacoma. The shittier parts are no worse than the shittier parts of Seattle. The simple fact that I was able to buy a house in North Tacoma (which is like Greenlake or Wallingford) for a third of the cost of a comparable place in Seattle really says something.
The North end of Tacoma between Point Defiance and Ruston Way consists of mostly million dollar and up homes. Especially anything around North ~40th to 55th.
West side from Chambers bay to Narrows bridge same story, but with a lot of older more affordable homes sprinkled in.
Hilltop still sucks, not because you're going to get drive-by'd but because it's still all niggers who live there and the area is really run down. Moreso just looks bad than it is actually bad because of crime.
It's the Eastside out near Puyallup/the port/Salishan and along pacific highway near Spanaway that are the bad areas now a days. Near Spanaway hardly counts though, because that's just the white trash and methlabs spilling over from Bethel and Spanaway.
You'll have to pardon my shitty map
Red-Avoid because niggers and white trash (also illegal aliens for Salishan area) unless you want to go to South Tacoma way for some good Asian food.
Yellowish green- nice enough areas and pretty cheap to live too
Blue- hard working Aryans (not really) but very nice areas with million dollar plus homes and nice places to live. But w/ affordable homes sprinkled throughout
I am from Tacoma and live in Seattle ATM. Counting down the days I can get the fuck out and go back to T-Town, save up some money and buy a house in the North End. Seattle sucks ass, is insanely expensive, King County in general is a shit place.
Here is a spot just outside of Vancouver.
Just outside of Hockinson. Need a Discovery Pass as the sign for that area starts jus ta mile before it.
Several miles back on Rawson Road is Clarks Rifle Range with $15-$25 a day shooting on a proper range with 25 and 100 yard ranges and a pistol range.
So you can't shoot across a game trail or a walking path you made on your own property? I'm curious where the line is between an official road/trail and the temporary path a bulldozer flattened for logging trucks which is now blocked off by jersey barriers and shows up on no maps.
Who doesn't shoot down a dead end road? Obviously it's a bad idea if there's potential traffic but I think you're being a bit paranoid here. Nobody's going to give you a ticket let alone jail time for shooting at a dead end, that's just ridiculous.
im not talking about the end of a dead end road. im talking about >>27474159, which is clearly very illegal. but keep on giving the community a bad name bro
im not saying anything simply quoting the laws on the books.
"Trail" means a route on department-managed land, other than a road that is suitable for travel by motorized or nonmotorized means.
So it's ok to shoot at the end of a dead end logging road but only if it's not across a mountain?
What about the ones where they intentionally dug up a bunch of piles to prevent anything but dirt bikes and built 4x4s from getting past, does that count as de-roadifying it enough or are those out for you too?
he is clearly shooting at another road. i dont understand why this is so difficult for you to comprehend. he IS breaking the law. is the law dumb? maybe but thats not what we are discussing.
>What about the ones where they intentionally dug up a bunch of piles to prevent anything but dirt bikes and built 4x4s from getting past, does that count as de-roadifying it enough or are those out for you too?
this is a "trail" so technically no you cannot shoot within, from, along, across, or down
it doesnt matter if it is the same road or not the law states: Persons shall not shoot within, from, along, across, or down roads or trails.
literally a violation of the law no matter how you draw it out. i dont care if you think you are not breaking the law, keep doing it so you can get caught.
why can you not understand this?
>Persons shall not shoot within, from
Well that rules out just about every gravel pit then. The spot you shoot from is almost always within or from the road.
What if you stand just off the road from the shooting side and shoot at the mountainside below the end on the other side. That way you aren't shooting "within, from, along, across, or down" any roads, roads just happen to be really close by.
before you get your pants in a knot a developed recreation facility means any designated site or location built or improved for recreation on department-managed land such as a trailhead, vista, parking area, boat launch, picnic area, campground, or water trail site.
"Designated" means any facility, trail, or location that has been approved by the department for public use.
so this is not a road or trail
>Not explicitly designed for the purpose of target shooting
but it is. just accept that you are wrong dude. the gook above and everyone on his side is wrong. pls keep breaking the law though and hopefully you will get caught.
have a nice day :^
well the army has decided that I should get a little bit of the green ween and I am going to be working out of the Lynnwood. I'll be leaving GA in January. What should I expect my Cascadia friends.
-decent places to go turn money into smoke and noise
-decent places to purchase firearms and firearms accessories
- how is the community (filled with crunchies or somewhat normal people)
those are the biggest things I am curious about now that the google box wont tell me.
>decent places to go turn money into smoke and noise
there is one indoor range in lynnwood, there is a a good amount of outdoor ranges within 45 mins , a few of them have really shitty rules.
the best spot is >>27473708
>-decent places to purchase firearms and firearms accessories
there are a lot of good gun stores around here you can google that tbh. transfers kinda suck most lgs are going to be $45+, there are a few tabletop guys that have $15 though
>- how is the community (filled with crunchies or somewhat normal people)
the community is pretty good. lots of asians though. i try to avoid seattle and anywhere south really due to the liberalfucks, traffic, everything is inflated, and foreigners
If you're in the area, absolutely. It is a fairly small and unimpressive storefront though. Maybe like 20'x50' or so, I dunno. Worth noting is that they have a display bin full of aftermarket AR triggers (Geis/Timney/Hiperfire/maybe others) rigged up on dummy receivers that you can try out. A display section of higher end ARs on the sales floor which you can presumably molest but I've never bothered to ask, pic related. I really only go in for pickup orders and I live within 30 minutes. The rest is just the usual stuff, a couple mannequins decked out in crye/5.11/what have you, a small display of optics, couple islands of magpul stuff and a row of accessories and parts in the display case.
Rain, not more than you got annually in Georgia (probably, I'm not going to look it up) but instead of getting proper rain storms you get it spread out over 2/3 of the year in a narrow urethra with prostate issues drizzle. Something like 120-160 rain days, 80-120 overcast days, the remainder being mixed between partly cloudy and sunny. We don't get much proper weather, for the most part it is very mild both in summer and winter, little snow, but an occasional windstorm that wreaks havoc out in the burbs/rural areas, especially if it comes when the trees are heavy with snow or ice. It's like weather limbo, but wet.
stated, the I-5 corridor between Seattle and Olympia is where most of the proper niggers and crime is, but for the most part it's property crime. South Seattle is one of the worst areas in general.
If you're into food, there is so much of everything here, it's easy to find things made by people from the actual country it's supposed to be from.
Traffic is going to be a nightmare if you're commuting to JBLM from up there, are you recruiting or something specialized? The drivers out here are a special flavor of retard, they aren't explicitly bad drivers, they just don't want you to get where you're going any faster than they want to get to their destination. They'll cock block you for no reason and dick around in the passing lanes to no end. If you make a courteous flash after an appropriate waiting time they'll get butt hurt and camp out the lane because like hell if they're going to go faster or let you get where you're going any faster than they are. They also despise people who use the road and zipper mergin general. Half the time you're better off sniping your way into exit lanes which are undoubtedly backed up a mile ahead of time because no one lets anyone merge on the other side of it. It's really difficult to describe the weirdly aggressive but not competitive attitude. You get used to it, but it never stops sucking.

this whole thing tbh drivers are retarded, although when i went to california i wanted to shoot everyone. i dont know how they passed the drivers test
I had fairly mild experiences when I was down there, on one occasion it was near bumper to bumper and, while certainly not the rule, we were still traveling 70. In a general sense people had no emotional issues over being passed, which is my main qualm up here. The motorcycles drove me nuts though. Lunatics splitting lanes at highway speed in dense traffic dressed like squid, not that protective gear would matter much there.
>The motorcycles drove me nuts though. Lunatics splitting lanes at highway speed in dense traffic dressed like squid, not that protective gear would matter much there.
yeah this was really annoying too. also at redlights they would split the lane and jump in front of the lead car, fucking stupid. they are trying to get that shit legalized up here
